Abstract: The present study highlights the drawback of using Sanso, Arago and Carrion’s (2004) AIT-ICSS algorithm in detecting sudden changes in the unconditional volatility when long memory is present in volatility. Simulation experiments show that the AIT-ICSS test is severely oversized and exhibits low power when long memory is present in volatility.
Spline wavelet combined with spline interpolation interruption filtering analysis for narrow sharp peak spectral signal

Abstract: According to the main characteristic of sharp peak, the method of spline wavelet combined with spline interpolation interruption filtering analysis is proposed for a sudden change (an unstable) noised signal and is applied in V and Mn CCD-ICP-AEC spectral signal. The satisfactory results show that the new technique is effective, on enhancing the clarity and accuracy of an unstable signal.

Abstract: 通过对以北京地区为代表的近15年的地面资料进行分析,研究了华北地区季节过渡的突变特征,并根据它们的综合演变提出了华北地区冬、夏半年的划分方法。同时,对它们的年际变化进行了讨论,并分析了华北地区由冬季向夏季转换的早晚与对流层中上层行星尺度天气系统的季节性转换进程之间的联系。

Abstract: Planktonic foraminiferal δ18O record for core DGKS9603 from the Okinawa Trough shows a series of climatic fluctuations and sudden cooling events in short time scale during 50 kaBP, which appear to correlate closely to the Younger Dryas and Heinrich events H1–5 recorded in Chinese loess, the South China Sea, the North Atlantic cores and the Greenland ice cores. Three polarity reversal events, correlating to Gothenburg, Mungo and Laschamp events, approximately correspond to Heinrich events H1, H3 and H5 respectively, which could be a cause of global climate changes. The δ18O curve of the Okinawa Trough is well associated with the grain size record of the Lijiayuan loess profile in northwestern China and is somewhat different from the climate fluctuations documented in the Greenland ice cores. These correlation results indicate that regional factors play an important role in controlling the climate changes in the East Asia, and the East Asian Monsoon could be the prominent regional controlling factor.

Abstract: the global climatic change could cause, in some places, appearance of meteorological phenomena considered rare. if we understand the effect of these phenomena on birds we can understand how birds respond to weather changes. we report here the effect of a severe snowfall on hummingbird activity, flower abundance and hummingbird-plant interaction in a temperate forest of central mexico. during our study we registered 1 hummingbird species (hylocharis leucotis) and 7 plant species (fuchsia thymifolia, f. microphyla, salvia amarissima, s. elegants, cestrum roseum, penstemon campanulatus and lonicera mexicana). before the sudden climatic phenomena we registered 66 records of hummingbirds, 8 700 flowers, and 6 hummingbird visits to flowers. during the phenomena, there were zero hummingbird records, 160 flowers and zero visits. a month after the event there were 67 hummingbirds records, 1 825 flowers and 13 visits. hummingbird activity recovered rapidly after the snowstorm, but 6 of 7 plants species lost all their flowers, except for l. mexicana, which received all hummingbird visits a month after the climatic event.

Abstract:

In this paper, the entanglement between two atoms and squeezed field via four photon process is investigated. The dynamical behavior of the entanglement between two atoms and a squeezed field is analyzed. In particular, the effects of the atomic motion, the initial atomic state and the field squeezing are examined. A high amount of entanglement is generated by increasing the field squeezing. Furthermore, we show that a sudden death and sudden birth emerge when the moving atoms are initially prepared in the excited state.

Abstract: sudden deafness is characterized as a sensorineural deafness, having an abrupt onset and an unknown cause. it is usually unilateral; tinnitus is present in approximately 80 percent of all cases and vertigo in 30 percent. the differential diagnosis includes some others diseases, such as infectious, hematological, neurological and most likely, the vestibular schawnnoma. the etiophatogenic factors of sudden deafness are unknown; some hypothesis are considered: experimental studies have proved the vascular hypothesis, which is well known; the viral hypothesis is widely accepted, but it has failed in the laboratorial comprovation; most recently the appearance of the autoimmune hypothesis which was proved by immune laboratorial studies, and finally, the hypothesis of the membrane's rupture (fistula's theory) is behind the others because of the difficulty in proving it. sudden deafness is ultimately considered as an entity of multifactorial ethiopathogenic factors. treatment of sudden deafness is very controversial. the administration of corticosteriods and vasodilatators drugs is widely accepted since prescription is easily done and inexpensive. the correct approach to sudden deafness is to individualize each patient and to establish different types of treatments depending on the needs of each case. in the near future, different kinds of treatment will take the place of the famous protocols treatments encouraged by many authors.
