Comunidade solidária: há algo de novo no reino das políticas sociais?
Vellozo, Vitória;
Physis: Revista de Saúde Coletiva , 1998, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-73311998000200003
Abstract: the article aims at posing some questions about the major principles - partnership, solidarity, decentralization, integration and convergence of actions - that lead the combat strategy against starvation and poverty known as solidarity community, starting from the dialogue of theoretical perspectives which try to develop a relational, non-structural analysis of both social problems and social policies, inserting elements of reciprocity, solidarity, trust and responsibility, where apparently trivial elements may have an important influence on the day-to-day context.

Experiências em economia solidária e seus múltiplos sentidos
Gon?alves, Alicia Ferreira;
Revista Katálysis , 2008,
Abstract: this article presents ethnographic reports of experiences in economic solidarity in ceará state. the reports of these experiences were revealed by means of participant observation, through analysis of official documents supplied by entities, qualitative interviews, that used questionnaires and informal conversations conducted with various actors in the field of solidarity economics in ceará during the three years of ethnographic research. the article maintains that concepts such as solidarity economics, solidarity and reciprocity assume multiple meanings in the contemporary experiences of the agents linked to the field of solidarity economics in ceará state1. the ethnographies reveal that each agent activates in his reports the concepts of solidarity economics, solidarity and reciprocity, in a way that gives them new meanings according to strategic interests, specific situations and values linked to particular traditions to which they are linked, articulating, therefore, two dimensions: structure and process.

Tognetta, Luciene Regina Paulino;Assis, Orly Zucatto Mantovani de;
Educa??o e Pesquisa , 2006, DOI: 10.1590/S1517-97022006000100004
Abstract: discussing how people can build up solidarity, and drawing from psychological assumptions that guarantee that such virtue is constructed by each one in their interaction with the environment, this research points to a path for the formation of more autonomous and solidary subjects: the cooperation as a strategy to conceive the construction of virtues. to this end, a comparative investigation was made of the judgments of children of both sexes, aged 6 and 7, in two kinds of environments: a - based on authoritarian relations; and b - in relationships of cooperation. diagnostic tests for jean piaget's operatory behavior were used to investigate the parallel between the cognitive and moral structures of the subjects. the study also used the observation of the interpersonal relationships and the discussion of moral dilemmas split into two groups, and which fulfilled two conditions: to inspect the judgment of solidarity between peers, and in the presence of authority. results demonstrate the existence of an evolution in the disposition of the subjects to be solidary, linked to the prospect of significant experiences of solidarity and mutual respect, characteristic of a cooperative environment. such results allow us to envisage a "pedagogy of virtues" that takes in the development of cognitive structures and affective aspects to the construction of moral personalities.
As redes de solidariedade da cor: o caso dos compadres Manoel e Lauriano
Vellasco, Ivan de Andrade;
História (S?o Paulo) , 2006, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-90742006000100007
Abstract: this article is based on the analysis of a criminal lawsuit from 1831, in which the accused ones, who were "mulattos", were charged with a white man murder. in the testimonies of the lawsuit, it is possible to identify a supportive alliance among the "mulattos", in relation to the categories that define the positions and judgements concerning to the crime. witnesses, both "mulattos" and "negros", free and manumitted slaves, have produced a consensus, hence building a version against the victim, the white man. a view on right and wrong promotes solidarity in everybody and, within this view, a specific perception about what unites "mulattos", "negros", manumitted slaves and "cabras". we propose that the solidarity based on the identity among the "mulattos" can be understood in relation to the motivations associated to their emersion in the political debates of the time, concerning to their conceptualization and inclusion in the nation project. this article represents an attempt to understand, in the available indexes, the constitution of identity processes based on color and condition, fundamental categories in the slave society.
La sequía de 1937 en Santiago del Estero: Antecedentes y consecuencias de un acontecimiento ambiental
Tasso,Alberto;
Trabajo y sociedad , 2011,
Abstract: during the years 1935 to 1937 there was a significant drought that hit the arid and semiarid regions of northwestern argentina, as well as from mexico and the united states. this note discusses the impact of this environmental event on the economy and society of santiago del estero, which marks a before and an after in its agricultural history. until that year was consolidated on agroforestry model emerged between 1880-1900, which combined obraje", la finca and peasant economy. the great drought was followed two failed crops and cattle stock decreased cattle and goats by 80%. this had catastrophic consequences in a rural society, whose diet depended heavily on their own production, most notably triggering famine in the contemporary history of this province. among the many consequences of this drought, we study their effects on population, economics and public policy. state initiatives were sparse and late, and could not contain the problems of thousands of families facing hunger and social deprivation. this regional drama became a national dimension through the print and broadcast media, which in the last months of 1937 initiated a large-scale solidarity campaign. the exodus has opened a path of migration to the industrial zones of berisso, ensenada and buenos aires. the drought has also spurred the construction of levees los quiroga (1949) and the dam reservoir of rio hondo (1968). the literature also included this issue as a symbol of peasant drama in the collective imagination.

Román Brugnoli, José Antonio;Energici Sprovera, María Alejandra;
Psicologia & Sociedade , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-71822010000200005
Abstract: the neoliberal nature of the process of modernization and the installation of a consumer society model has involved a change in social norms of social ties from a mutual solidarity to an altruist notion of solidarity. also, it has introduced changes in the subjectivity. in this context it is relevant to investigate the relationship between this new norm of solidarity and forms of subjectivity involved. a discourse analysis was conducted from a model of critical psychology proposed by parker (1990, 1992). we analyzed twelve pieces of aid advertising or promoting solidarity, issued by for-profit institutions. in the results, we described the neoliberal solidarity and the types of solidarity actors that can be performed through consumption.
La bioética y los enfoques del final de la vida
Martínez Gómez,Jesús Armando;
Revista Cubana de Salud Pública , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S0864-34662010000400010
Abstract: this article addressed why bioethics, which is ethics for life, has paid much more attention to the right of choosing the way of dying than to the right to life. this has a lot to do with the predominant anglo-saxon-type principled methodological and philosophical approach in the contemporary bioethical discourse that is also analyzed. it was suggested that this approach be supplemented with the principle of solidarity, all of which will encourage paying preferential attention to the right to life as fundamental and worrying.
Do século 19 ao século 21: permanência e transforma??es da solidariedade em economia
Laville, Jean-Louis;
Revista Katálysis , 2008,
Abstract: for the past two centuries utilitarianism has sought to define the market economy and the society of capital as 'absolute'. the naturalization of these elements, which is inherent to modernity and periodically updated, has curtailed debate about economic models and limited democracy. the first part of the text discusses these relationships between democracy and the economy, considering current difficulties and guided by the idea that public action is progressively made dependent on the dominant conception of the economy. the second part of this text describes how the reciprocal democratization of civil society and public policies are associated to an economy based on the plurality of economic principles and forms of property. at the dawn of the 21st century it clearly appears that democracy does not know how to subsist in a market society. our future is bound to the option of a plural market economy, in which economic choices are not subject to the deliberations of the citizenry.
