De Simone,Gustavo G;
Acta bioethica , 2000, DOI: 10.4067/S1726-569X2000000100004
Abstract: palliative care emerges as a modality of assistance for terminally ill patients, aiming at responding to their biological, psychosocial and spiritual needs, as well as to train and give support to their families. end-of-life assistance poses specific necessities and problems that require the implementation of specific knowledge and appropriate use of resources. patients and their families, in addition to home care professional team and agencies constitute the main protagonists of situations where suffering appears as a central issue. only a comprehensive approach to the problem, including scientific qualification and a deeply humane attitude will permit to find responses in accordance with the suffering being’s dignity. therefore, it appears as fundamental the consideration of technical aspects and underlying ethical dilemmas. reference is made to a clinical case and resulting ethical reflections in order to facilitate the global understanding of this challenge

LANDSCAPE: WHERE GEOGRAPHY AND ECOLOGY CONVERGE
Simone Rodrigues de Freitas
Holos Environment , 2003,
Abstract: The word landscape is old and popular. It has many senses from territory to scenery. Geography uses this concept since Humboldt, which pointed out its spatiality and its physical and cultural characteristics. The geographical approach of landscape concept emphasizes relationships between natural and cultural processes in a spatial portion. Depending on physical or cultural/symbolic approaches, one of both processes will prevail. In ecological approach, the main characteristics to define landscape are spatiality, heterogeneity and relationship between elements, including men or not. Here we propose a unified landscape concept defining it as a heterogeneous space portion where relationship between natural and cultural processes occur.

Simone Silveira de Alcantara
Revista Recorte , 2012,

AbstractAt the end of the 80’s, some European countries as well as Japan and the United States started researches for the development of digital tv models. In brazil, after publishing the law # 4.901 in 2003, digital tv researches started to build the Brazilian System for Digital Television (SBTVD) which would promote social inclusion and create a distance education network among other objectives. Digital TV is considered by some authors a new media as it includes characteristics from the computer as much as from the television. This new media format may interchange new forms of communication, content production and interactivity and this is fundamental to education nowadays as the analogical television does not permit content production in a collaborative form as much as for the technological aspects or the centralizing political factor from available productions today. A Renormalization Proof of the KAM Theorem for Non-Analytic Perturbations
Emiliano De Simone
Physics , 2006, DOI: 10.1142/S0129055X07003085
Abstract: We shall use a Renormalization Group (RG) scheme in order to prove the classical KAM result in the case of a non-analytic perturbation (the latter will be assumed to have continuous derivatives up to a sufficiently large order). We shall proceed by solving a sequence of problems in which the perturbations are analytic approximations of the original one. We shall finally show that the sequence of the approximate solutions will converge to a differentiable solution of the original problem.
