Abstract: Closed form expressions for the PDF and MGF of the harmonic mean of two independent exponential variates are cited and derived, and then applied to study the performance of cellular multi-node and dual-hop cooperative communication systems with non-regenerative relays over flat Rayleigh fading channels. We derive the probability density function (PDF) and asymptotic symbol error rate (SER) expression with MRC scheme. Then we use Matlab to simulate the performance.

Abstract: This paper analyses information structures of English sentences broadly by comprising structural and semantic properties of utterances relating to the discourse status of their content and the states of the discourse participants. It mentions the concept of the notions like presupposition, focus, given vs. new, and topic vs. comment and discusses the relationships between them. Then it introduces the categories of information status and the animacy hierarchy. Finally it states the significance of information structure of English sentences.

Abstract: This paper discusses metaphor as a figure of speech first, and then talks about metaphor and synaesthesia from a cognitive perspective. In order to explain the metaphorical use of sense-impression in English, it borrows examples from some literary works. Finally, it draws the conclusion that metaphor has exerted a great influence on sense-impression in English.

Higgs Sector in Anomaly-Mediated Supersymmetry Breaking Scenario

Abstract: In the minimal anomaly-mediated supersymmetry breaking (AMSB) model, a universal contribution $m_{0}$ to all the scalar masses is introduced in order to avoid the negative slepton mass problem. The Higgs spectrum and couplings are determined by four parameters: $m_{\rm aux}, m_{0}, \tan\beta$ and sign ($\mu$). The sign of $\mu$ affects $m_A$ at large $\tan\beta$ and $m_h$ at small $\tan\beta$. The CP-odd Higgs mass $m_A$ is usually much larger than ${m}_{Z}$ and the lightest CP-even Higgs is simply analogous to the one in the standard model. The current and future Higgs searches in LEP, Tevatron and LHC provide a test ground for the AMSB scenario. The current LEP bounds and LEP 192/196 preliminary results have already excluded a small $m_{0}$ and $m_{\rm aux}$ region for small $\tan\beta$. While the entire parameter space will be excluded if no Higgs is found at Tevatron RUN II with 2 ${\rm fb}^{-1}$ luminosity. However, if the AMSB scenario is true, a Higgs can be found at 5$\sigma$ significance level at both Tevatron running at luminosity 10 ${\rm fb}^{-1}$ or higher and LHC.
h-> mu^+ mu^- via tth Production at the LHC

Abstract: In this work, we examine the process at the LHC in which a Higgs boson is produced in association with a t t-bar pair and subsequently decays to a pair of muons. We show that the statistical significance for the discovery of a light, Standard-Model Higgs boson with a mass around 120 GeV in this channel is comparable to those for other processes (gluon fusion, weak-boson fusion) in which the Higgs decays to a muon pair. Combining all three of these channels, we show that evidence for a Higgs boson with a mass in the range 115 GeV < m_h < 130 GeV could be obtained at the 3 sigma significance level with an integrated luminosity of 300 fb^{-1}. We also calculate the enhancement factor to the cross-section that would be needed to discover a non-standard Higgs boson in this channel.
CP Violating Lepton Asymmetries from B Decays and Their Implication for Supersymmetric Flavor Models

Abstract: The lepton and dilepton charge asymmetries from $B_{d}$ and $B_{s}$ are predicted to be small in the standard model, whereas new physics could increase their values significantly. In this paper, we explore the use of the lepton asymmetries as a probe of the flavor structure of supersymmetric theories. In particular, we determine the sensitivity to parameters of various models. We find that in many interesting models which attempt to address the supersymmetric flavor problem, the mixing structure is such that it could be possible to detect new physics. The predictions are model dependent; with a measurement in both the $B_s$ and $B_d$ systems one can hope to constrain the flavor physics model, especially once squarks are detected and their masses measured. Thus, lepton charge asymmetries can be used as an alternative means of searching for new physics and distinguishing among potential solutions to the flavor problem. They are interesting precisely because they are small in the standard model and are therefore necessarily evidence of new physics.
