Study on Characteristics of the Wheelchair-User Combination  [PDF]

To summarize the characteristics of wheelchair-user combination, this paper studied wheelchairs, wheelchair users, nursing staffs and interaction relationship between them. Firstly, the findings of some research on wheelchairs and wheelchair users were investigated, and the studies in four aspects of wheelchairs and their accessories, wheelchair users, wheelchairs and wheelchair users (man-machine system), and skills training for the performance of wheelchair were reviewed. Then “wheelchair-user combination” was put forward based on the relationship between wheelchairs and wheelchair users in real life, and the “wheelchair-user combination” was divided into “WUs-Ws system” and “WUs-Ws-NSs system” according to whether the nursing staffs were needed. Finally, this paper analytically studied the characteristics of wheelchair users, characteristics in use of wheelchair and characteristics of nursing staffs, as well as put forward the characteristics of the wheelchair-user combination.

Abstract: As a grand policy of realizing the rapid development of the western region and narrowing the income gap between the western region and the eastern and central regions after China’s reform and opening up, it is of great practical significance to objectively study its policy effects. This paper uses the data of municipal districts in Chinese cities from 1997 to 2014 in China City Statistical Yearbook to evaluate the policy effect of the western development strategy by using the method of difference-in-difference propensity score matching (PSM-DID). The research results show that the western development policy has not improved the economic growth of the western region, but has negatively affected the economic growth of the western region. In addition, economic growth in the western region may be due to factors such as fixed asset investment, foreign direct investment, and higher education levels, etc. Therefore, the strategic direction of the development of the western region should focus on human capital investment, improve the market economy system, and strengthen exchanges and cooperation between regions in the future.
Direct assimilation of satellite radiance data in GRAPES variational assimilation system

Abstract: Variational method is capable of dealing with observations that have a complicated nonlinear relation with model variables representative of the atmospheric state, and so make it possible to directly assimilate such measured variables as satellite radiance, which have a nonlinear relation with the model variables. Assimilation of any type of observations requires a corresponding observation operator, which establishes a specific mapping from the space of the model state to the space of observation. This paper presents in detail how the direct assimilation of real satellite radiance data is implemented in the GRAPES-3DVar analysis system. It focuses on all the components of the observation operator for direct assimilation of real satellite radiance data, including a spatial interpolation operator that transforms variables from model grid points to observation locations, a physical transformation from model variables to observed elements with different choices of model variables, and a data quality control. Assimilation experiments, using satellite radiances such as NOAA17 AMSU-A and AMSU-B (Advanced Microwave Sounding Unit), are carried out with two different schemes. The results from these experiments can be physically understood and clearly reflect a rational effect of direct assimilation of satellite radiance data in GRAPES-3DVar analysis system.
Man-Machine Functional Dimension Design of Riding Equipment in Subway Passenger Compartments

Abstract: 为探讨乘客身材特征对地铁客室中乘坐设备功能尺寸设计的影响,运用人机工程学以人为中心的实验和相关分析法展开研究.围绕人的生理结构、心理尺度和乘坐设备的功能属性等因素,结合压力分布实验、虚拟仿真技术和主观评价分析,对人与地铁座椅和扶手之间的功能尺寸配置关系进行了测试与分析.研究结果表明:座椅腰靠纵向外凸圆弧的曲率半径为186 mm、座垫横向内凹圆弧的曲率半径为785 mm时更贴近人体坐姿的生理曲度和满足乘坐的舒适性要求;扶手的吊环高度设置在1 710 mm、横杆高度设置在1 860 mm时能够分别保障不同身材的乘客的使用需求,并能满足适用性、安全性和通行性之间的平衡.
:A human-centred experiment and ergonomic correlation-analysis approach was adopted to investigate the impact of passenger body size on the functional dimension design of riding equipment in subway passenger compartments. Subsequently, the relationship between the functional dimension configuration among passengers, subway seats, and handrails was tested and analysed based on human physiological structure, psychological endurance, and functional properties of riding equipment. This was achieved by combining a pressure distribution experiment with virtual simulation technology and subsequent subjective evaluation and analysis. Results demonstrate that when the curvature radius of the backrest outer convex arc measures 186 mm while that of the cushion inner concave arc measures 785 mm, seat surface closely matches the physiological curvature of the body-sitting posture, thereby meeting the requirements of riding comfort. Also, when the height of handrail rings and that of cross rods are set as 1 710 mm and 1 860 mm, respectively, handrail height meets usage requirements of passengers having different bodies sizes as well as that of balance between applicability, safety, and accessibility

Abstract: Experiments were conducted to evaluate the grain refinement and thermal stability of ultra-fine grained Al-4Mg alloy introduced by equal-channel angular pressing (ECAP) at 473 K. The results show that the intensities of X-ray (111/222) and (200/400) peaks for the alloy processed by ECAP decrease significantly and the peak widths of half height become broadening compared with the corresponding value in the annealed alloy. The microstructure of 2 passes ECAPed alloy consists of both elongated and equiaxed subgrains. The residual strain in the alloy increases with increasing passes numbers, that appears as increasing dislocation density and lattice constant of matrix. An equiaxed ultra-fine grained structure of ~0.2μm is obtained in the present alloy after 8 passes. The ultra-fine grains are stable below 523 K, because the alloy retains extremely fine grain size of ~1μm after static annealing at 523 K for1 h.

Abstract: The apparent heat sources (< Q1 >) and moisture sinks (< Q2 >) are calculated based on the reanalyzed data of the South China Sea Monsoon Experiment (SCSMEX) from May 1 to August 31, 1998. It is found that the formation and distribution of the atmospheric heat sources are important for the monsoon onset. The earlier onset of the SCS monsoon is the result of enduring atmospheric heating in the Indo-China Pe-ninsula and South China areas. The atmospheric heating firstly appears in the Indo-China Peninsula area and the sensible heat is the major one. The 30-50 day periodic oscillation of atmospheric heat sources be-tween the SCS area and the western Pacific warm pool has a reverse phase distribution before the middle of July and the low frequency oscillation of heat sources in SCS area has an obvious longitudinal propagation. The 30-50 day low frequency oscillation has vital modificatory effects on the summer monsoon evolution during 1998.

The results of numerical experiment by two linear bamtmpic rnodcls support the observation.

Abstract: This paper addresses self-localization of stationary sensor networks based on inter-neighbor bearings and anchor nodes whose locations are known. In our work, we formulate the bearing-only network localization problem as a linear least-squares problem and consider measurement models with and without errors. We provide necessary and sufficient conditions for the localizability of a network with both algebraic and rigidity theoretic interpretations. The proposed conditions fully describe the relationship between the localizability and the bearing rigidity properties of a network. We also analyze the sensitivity of the localization problem to constant measurement errors. Upper bounds for the localization error and the bearing errors that a network can tolerate are presented. Finally, we propose distributed protocols to globally localize bearing-only networks. All the results presented in the paper are applicable to networks in arbitrary dimensions. This work is validated with numerical simulations.
