Energy Identities of ADI-FDTD Method with Periodic Structure  [PDF]

Abstract: In this paper, a new kind of energy identities for the Maxwell equations with periodic boundary conditions is proposed and then proved rigorously by the energy methods. By these identities, several modified energy identities of the ADI-FDTD scheme for the two dimensional (2D) Maxwell equations with the periodic boundary conditions are derived. Also by these identities it is proved that 2D-ADI-FDTD is approximately energy conserved and unconditionally stable in the discrete L2 and H1 norms. Experiments are provided and the numerical results confirm the theoretical analysis on stability and energy conservation.

Abstract: The responsible leadership has gained considerable attention in contemporary management scholarship. As a new leadership theory, responsible leadership transcends traditional dyadic leader-subordinate relationship, and focuses on a full-range view of leader-stakeholder relationship, which can effectively deal with new challenges from all sectors of society. In this paper, we first provide an overview of the conception, structure, and measurement of responsible leadership. Besides, we analyze and conclude the antecedents and consequences of responsible leadership. Finally, we put forward some suggestions about future research in this field.

Abstract:

Side branch Helmholtz resonators (HRs) are widely used to control low frequency tonal noise in air duct system. The passive Helmholtz resonator only works effectively over a narrow frequency range around resonance frequency. Changes in the exciting frequency and temperature will decrease the noise reduction performance. Many studies have been conducted on incorporating a Helmholtz resonator with active noise control to tuning the resonance frequency of HRs. The objective of this study is to study the effect of flow on the semi active Helmholtz resonator for duct noise control. Owing to a low Mach number air flow, the discontinuity condition at the joint is analytically formulated according to the conservation of the momentum and mass of air flow. Based on the transfer function at the junction, a controller function is proposed to tune the semi-active Helmholtz resonator under flow condition.

Abstract: Previous research has revealed several advantages from microwave-assisted wet chemical synthesis in reaction acceleration, yield improvement, enhanced physicochemical properties and the evolvement of new material phases. The study present examples that demonstrate the significance of these advantages to industrial application. In order to achieve successful industrial application there is a need to distinguish between the microwave athermal (not excited by heat) effect from the microwave-induced thermal effect (temperature rise). The optimization of this new process has to be systematically investigated, so the advantages and benefits of this new technology can be fully exploited.

Abstract:

The technology for phase detection of liquid crystal optical device is a difficult research in current domestic and overseas. However, for the existing liquid crystal optical device, aiming at the poor anti-vibration capability and poor versatile of phase detection, the complexity of phase retrieval algorithm, we propose a new phase measurement principle and experimental methods of liquid crystal optical device. It is a phase measurement method based on the combination of phase- shifting interferometer and phase conjugation technology. The deflection characteristics of the liquid crystal device means the device can implement phase modulation to only one direction of polarized light while is completely transparent to orthogonal polarized light. We put forward the phase shift of the orthogonal polarization phase shift interferometer method, using phase shifting interference as well as the combination of phase conjugate means to achieve its phase measurement. So we can retrieves devices modulation phase simply and efficiently combines with phase- shifting interferometer technology.

2-Norm-Based Iterative Design of Filterbank Transceivers: A Control Perspective

Abstract: This paper considers design of filterbank-based transceivers. A composite error criterion is proposed to capture all the three traditional distortions. Incorporating noise attenuation and filter bandlimiting properties into this error criterion, an optimal design procedure is developed and applied to a transceiver design example, yielding an FIR transceiver that has good frequency-selective properties and is close to perfect reconstruction. As a least-squares solution is given in closed form in each iteration, the algorithm is easy to implement.
Epigenetic regulation: methylation of histone and non-histone proteins

Abstract: Histone methylation is believed to play important roles in epigenetic memory in various biological processes. However, questions like whether the methylation marks themselves are faithfully transmitted into daughter cells and through what mechanisms are currently under active investigation. Previously, methylation was considered to be irreversible, but the recent discovery of histone lysine demethylases revealed a dynamic nature of histone methylation regulation on four of the main sites of methylation on histone H3 and H4 tails (H3K4, H3K9, H3K27 and H3K36). Even so, it is still unclear whether demethylases specific for the remaining two sites, H3K79 and H4K20, exist. Furthermore, besides histone proteins, the lysine methylation and demethylation also occur on non-histone proteins, which are probably subjected to similar regulation as histones. This review discusses recent progresses in protein lysine methylation regulation focusing on the above topics, while referring readers to a number of recent reviews for the biochemistry and biology of these enzymes

Abstract: In the title compound, (CH3)4N+·0.5C8H4O42 ·2H2O, the complete terephthalate dianion is completed by twofold symmetry and has a dihedral angle of 23.5 (2)° between the carboxylate group and its parent ring. Two independent water molecules serve as both donors and acceptor in the construction of undulating hydrogen-bonded host layers with various O—H...O contacts ocurring between the anion and two water molecules. At the same time, the tetramethylammonium cations, as the sphere-like guest species, are arranged in two rows between neighboring host layers, with an approximate interlayer distance of 7.36 , forming a sandwich-like crystal structure.

Abstract: We study some limit properties of the harmonic mean of random transition probability for a second-order nonhomogeneous Markov chain and a nonhomogeneous Markov chain indexed by a tree. As corollary, we obtain the property of the harmonic mean of random transition probability for a nonhomogeneous Markov chain.
