Reproductive Biology of Ficus beipeiensis  [PDF]

Abstract: This paper uses morphological, anatomical and ecological methods to study the morphological characteristics and propagation mechanism of Ficus beipeiensis S.S Chang which is endemic to China, providing a scientific basis for the rare population of wild plants and repopulation. The following results were obtained. First, F. beipeiensis with pollinating fig wasps was highly adapted in morphological structure and behavior. Second, a monoclinous flower period existed during the developmental phase of male flowers. F. beipeiensis had one to four stamens and one pistil. The pistil in the stigma of syconium flowers was similar to that of gall flowers, but no pollinating fig wasps that laid eggs in the ovary were found. Third, wild individual specimens were found to be rare. The investigation found only one male and four female individuals among them. However, only two female plants can bear fruits. The remaining 9 female plants were cultivated, among which only four grew syconia. No fruit, seed germination, and seeding were found under natural conditions. Several possible reasons for the growth of rare wild plants can be found as following: 1) An imbalance between male and female plants reduces breeding efficiency; 2) Ceratosolen sp. is a species-specific pollinator of F. beipeiensis, so the gall rate is lower; 3) The high mortality of Ceratosolen sp. results in low pollination rate; 4) The seed rate [25.64% ± 54.13% (N = 50)] is lower, ranging from 2% to 70%; 5) Seed germination is difficult under natural conditions.

Abstract: 本文利用建立的辐射模式研究了在一般天气和沙尘暴天气条件下,有云气溶胶大气的辐射加热特征。结果表明:在不同的天气条件下,云和气溶胶对大气的辐射加热的影响是不同的,它依赖于云的状况(云高、云厚和云内含水量)以及气溶胶浓度的大小、气溶胶的垂直分布和气溶胶的光学性质。
Study on Standard Operation Procedure of Improved Seeding of Aucklandia lappa Decne in YunNan

Abstract: For standard production of fine seed of Aucklandia lappa Decne in Yunnan province to guarantee good quality of crude drugs, according to requirements and contents of the Chinese Medicinal Materials Production Quality Management Standard promulgated and implemented by the State Drug Administration, we formulated standard operation procedure (SOP) of seed propagation g technology in Good Agricultural Practice (GAP). The SOP includes species definition, environmental requirements, sowing, field management, seed harvesting and handling, storage, and etc. Unified regulations and requirements were made on the SOP of seed propagation of Aucklandia lappa Decne. The standard is made to adapt to the production of fine seed in alpine areas of the northwest of Yunnan province. These unified regulations and requirements would have good guarding value on the high-quality production of Aucklandia lappa and ensure the quality of the herbal medicine.

Abstract: The radiative heating characteristics in the cloudy and aerosol-laden atmospheres under normal and duststorm conditions are studied using atmospheric radiative model in this paper. The results indicate that under different weather conditions, the effects of clouds and aerosol on atmospheric radiative heating are different, which depend on the characteristics (height, thickness, liquid water content) of clouds as well as the mass concentration, vertical distribution and optical property of aerosol in the atmosphere.
Preparation of GaN-on-Si based thin-film flip-chip LEDs

Abstract: GaN based MQW epitaxial layers were grown on Si (111) substrate by MOCVD using AlN as the buffer layer. High light extraction LEDs were prepared by substrate transferring technology in combination with thin-film and flip-chip design. The blue and white 1.1 × 1.1 mm2 LED lamps are measured. The optical powers and external quantum efficiency for silicone encapsulated blue lamp are 546 mW, and 50.3% at forward current of 350 mA, while the photometric light output for a white lamp packaged with standard YAG phosphor is 120.1 lm.

Abstract: 受爆破松动影响,地下洞室开挖后围岩强度会有所降低,根据松动损伤程度将其视为一个连续的三维“参数场”。由围岩松动圈的形成机制,分析地下洞室开挖后松动圈的计算方法,提出考虑松动圈的围岩参数场增量位移反分析法。针对岩土工程反分析计算量巨大的实际问题,对反演计算过程进行了基于MPI的主从式并行框架改进,运用计算机集群网络进行并行计算,减少了迭代计算次数和计算耗时,极大地提高了计算效率。通过对溪洛渡水电站右岸地下厂房的参数反演,得到了较好的反演效果,验证了此法的可行性和合理性。依据反演得到的参数场对现有支护设计及洞室围岩稳定状态进行评价,并对后续开挖进行预测,为工程设计施工提出合理建议,为地下工程参数反演提供了一种新方法和新思路。
Gateways Placement in Backbone Wireless Mesh Networks  [PDF]

Abstract: This paper presents a novel algorithm for the gate瑆ay placement problem in Backbone Wireless Mesh Networks (BWMNs). Different from existing algorithms, the new algorithm incrementally identifies gateways and assigns mesh routers to identified gateways. The new algorithm can guarantee to find a feasible gateway placement satisfying Quality-of-Service (QoS) constraints, including delay constraint, relay load constraint and gateway capacity constraint. Experimental results show that its performance is as good as that of the best of existing algorithms for the gateway placement problem. But, the new algorithm can be used for BWMNs that do not form one connected component, and it is easy to implement and use.

Abstract: Network RTK (Real-Time Kinematic) is a technology that is based on GPS (Global Positioning System) or more gener-ally on GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) measurements to achieve centimeter-level accuracy positioning in real-time. Reference station placement is an important problem in the design and deployment of network RTK systems as it directly affects the quality of the positioning service and the cost of the network RTK systems. This paper identifies a new reference station placement for network RTK, namely QoS-aware regional network RTK reference station placement problem, and proposes an algorithm for the new reference station placement problem. The algorithm can always produce a reference station placement solution that completely covers the region of network RTK.

Traffic Modeling of a Finite-Source Power Line Communication Network  [PDF]

Abstract: Power line communication (PLC) is a promising smart grid application for information transmission using existing power lines. We analytically model a finite-source PLC network subject to channel failure through a queueing theoretic framework. The proposed PLC network model consists of a base station (BS), which is located at a transformer station and connected to the backbone communication networks, and a number of subscriber stations that are interconnected with each other and with the BS via the power line transmission medium. An orthogonal frequency division multiplexing based technique is assumed for forming the transmission channels in a frequency spectrum. The channels are subject to failure during service due to noise. We determine the steady-state solution of the proposed model and derive a set of performance metrics of interest. Numerical and simulation results are presented to provide further insights into the analytical results. The proposed modeling method is expected to be used for evaluation and design of future PLC networks.
