International Journal of Nanomedicine , 2013,
Abstract: Vinícius Raphael de Almeida Borges, Alice Simon, Adrian Ricardo Cuello Sena, Lúcio Mendes Cabral, Valéria Pereira de Sousa Department of Pharmaceutics, Faculty of Pharmacy, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil Background: Topical administration of dapsone can be an alternative route for treatment of leprosy and can also provide new therapeutic applications for an established drug. However, the physicochemical properties of dapsone make it difficult to incorporate into conventional formulations. The current study was directed toward developing a stable nanoemulsion that contains dapsone which can be adapted for topical use. Methods: Nanoemulsions were prepared using isopropyl myristate or n-methyl-pyrrolidone as the oil phase, and characterized according to their mean droplet size, conductivity, refractive index, pH, drug content, and stability. The in vitro release of dapsone and its ability to permeate the epidermis were also evaluated. Results: Physicochemical characterization demonstrated that nanosystems were formed, which had a uniform droplet distribution and a pH compatible with the skin surface. Use of n-methyl-pyrrolidone provided a greater nanoemulsion region and higher solubilization of dapsone, and increased the in vitro release rate when compared with a nanoemulsion prepared using isopropyl myristate. However, use of isopropyl myristate promoted an increase in in vitro epidermal permeation that followed the Higuchi model. This demonstrates the ability of a nanosystem to influence permeation of dapsone through the skin barrier. Furthermore, the nanoemulsions developed and evaluated here had ideal physicochemical stability over a 3-month period. Conclusion: Incorporation of dapsone into a nanoemulsion may be a promising system for enabling topical delivery of dapsone, while minimizing skin permeation, for the treatment of acne. The method developed here used isopropyl myristate as the oil phase, and promoted permeation of dapsone through the skin barrier for the treatment of leprosy upon use of n-methyl-pyrrolidone as the oil phase. Annals of the University of Petrosani : Economics , 2010,
Abstract: This paper presents the results of a study regarding the necessary means for small and medium enterprises to effectively interact and cooperate in terms of obtaining a maximum profit from transport infrastructures and communications using available and predictable information technology and communications means. The diversity of structures among enterprises has led to the development of new software products, which are more competitive and efficient and are covering a wider domain of application. As the majority of logistics activities are focused on planning, realizing and tracking cargo, managing vehicles and afferent activities, specific software products were designed and developed, generically called TMS. An analysis of current situation shows that small and medium enterprises are using just a small part of available software. They are treat customers individually and does not enable collaboration between customers to reduce transportation costs or sharing the transport resources.
THE INFORMATIONAL SYSTEM FOR THE COLLABORATIVE LOGISTICS NETWORKS
NAIANA ?ARC,IOAN ?ARC,TEODORA V?TUIU
Annals of the University of Petrosani : Economics , 2011,
Abstract: This paper presents an informatic system designed for collaborative logistic networks. The informational system is composed of structured informational modules that can easily be modified in order to facilitate the testing of the different algorithms that are being used. The informational system has two components, in the form of web application modules, which are connected to the user-specific modules (THE CLIENT WEB APPLICATION) and to the server-specific modules (THE SERVER WEB APPLICATION), respectively. These two modules operate the transmission of information, the demands of the client and the offers generated by the server. The designed informational system has been tested in actual operating conditions, by co-optating ten EMSs from the Bihor county area. Some of the elements considered positive by the users, in the testing period, were: usability, the automatic assignment of a motor vehicle according to the characteristics of the product, the automatic route generation, the selection of goods according to the cluster “route” of the system.
EFFECTS OF PRE-INCUBATION STORAGE TIME OF OSTRICH EGGS ON THEIR INCUBATION AND HATCHING RESULTS

Albanian Journal of Agricultural Sciences , 2010,
Abstract: The research was carried out in the “ANOC” ostrich farm in Patos/Albania, in order to determine the effects of storage period on the hatchability of 197 ostrich (Struthio camelus) eggs. One egg setting was monitored, through dividing the eggs into three groups according to their age, as following: 20-30, 10-20 and 1-10 days old, containing respectively 49, 80 and 68 eggs/group. During the hatching process, the respective parameters, such as: fecundity, embryonic mortality, weight egg loss and hatchability were recorded and monitored. After two weeks, the average weight loss of the all eggs resulted to be 0.5% more than the standard, referred as such, the instructions given by the Dutch company PAS REFORM, producer of the ostrich eggs incubation and hatching machines. The reason of the high embryonic mortality (40.7%) mainly relates with the long pre-incubation storage time. Higher sterility (42.6%) might especially relate with the high temperature stress in the farm, considering the fact that the animals were just transferred from the Netherlands to Albania. The hatching rate (29.9%), compared to the total number of the set eggs is comparable with the same parameter achieved in the UK. Out of these results, it is concluded that: the shorter the egg storage time before the setting the better will the hatching results be.

A legisla??o do Fundeb

Cadernos de Pesquisa , 2008, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-15742008000200004
Abstract: this paper analyses the legislation concerning the fund for the maintenance and development of basic education and educational professionals valorization, contrasting it with that about the fund for the maintenance and development of fundamental education and teacher valorization. it identifies and discusses: the characteristics of the new fund that were already present in the previous one, the improvements acquired in contrast to fundef and the different technical choices. the study also indicate the problematic aspects of the new legislation, such as: a) the indistinct use of the financial resources among levels and modalities of instruction, schools, and teaching settings, independently of their respective weight in the collection of resources; b) the inclusion special education private enrollments and those of day care centers in a permanent way, without considering a transitory period. the paper proposes that the financial contribution of the union to education come back to 1995's level, in terms of the percentage of expenditures by federative sphere.
Os relatórios Masters & Johnson: gênero e as práticas psicoterapêuticas sexuais a partir da década de 70
Sena, Tito;
Revista Estudos Feministas , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-026X2010000100014
Abstract: this work is the result of an analysis on the masters & johnson's reports, originally published in 1966 (human sexual response) and 1970 (the human sexual inadequacy). the reports investigated, produced in the united states and spread worldwide, were prepared based on a careful, scientific investigation of the physiologic and anatomic responses of male and female sexuality. the authors used the results to formulate techniques and treatment in sexual therapy, which are so far in use by professionals in the clinical area. the masters & johnson's reports came with the proposal of filling the medical, physiological and psychological gaps left by the behaviorist statistics research by alfred kinsey (1948 and 1953). m&j's work defends openly the heterosexual monogamist marriage, with elaborations mingled with gender questions. from the theoretical tools by michel foucault, it is possible to observe that they are examples of the scientia sexualis practice, which tries to institute a truth in sex and of sex.

Distance Education and Online Dialogues: Between Themes and Identities  [PDF]

Abstract: This article presents questions relating to multiplicity of identities and subjectivities that postmodernity allows and its relations with the context of educational practices. The society has experienced in recent decades a great dynamization in information content with multiple possibilities for access to more diverse channels, allowing for new forms of organization and structuring of education and pedagogical practices. We believe that this postmodern context is characterized by a complex level of information and interaction between people. The technologies allow for the support of interactional learning in distance education (DE), by using virtual environments containing discussion forums, webchats, videos and online libraries among others. In this context, the type of thinking developed from classroom teaching and DE reveals the quality of the pedagogical practices used. One important issue to highlight in the article is: it can be said that there is a certain incompatibility, in general, when we observe the pedagogical practices used and thought of for the classroom when transposed to DE without concern for the specifics of each type of education. Once the challenges are known, it is possible to develop some strategies that can be used in distance education. We believe that it is possible to create an ampler curriculum, where the desired outcomes can be constructed, where many singularities will emerge, where affection and joy may be constant and self-referencing subjectivity may also be produced. Within this context, the question remains in the concern to create a learning environment where the social actors are effective participants in the building of true learning communities. It is necessary to be open and not fearful of diversity, to pursue problems and solutions, to capture the possible and impossible. These are not guarantees, but possibilities to develop practices that may maximize different forms of learning and minimize the inconsistencies observed in today’s distance education model.
