Abstract: A new Bronsted acidic ionic liquid, L-Pyrrolidine-2-carboxylic acid sulfate (LPCAS) was employed to promote one-pot synthesis of 14-aryl-14H-dibenzo [a,j] xanthenes via condensation reaction of aldehydes and 2-naphthol under solvent free condition. Distinguishing features of the methodology are excellent yield of products in shorter reaction time, cleaner reaction profile, eco-friendly nature and the use of inexpensive catalyst.

Abstract: The synthesis of a series of novel 8-(1-alkyl/alkylsulphonyl/alkoxycarbonyl-benzimidazol-2-ylmethoxy)-5-chloroquinoline derivatives is reported. These derivatives were prepared by the condensation of o-phenylenediamine with [(5-chloroquinolin-8-yl)oxy]acetic acid, followed by substitution at nitrogen with different electrophilic reagents in presence of an appropriate base to give a series of nitrogen heterocycles containing the benzimidazole and quinoline nuclei. The structures of the compounds were confirmed based on 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, IR and mass spectral data. Almost all the compounds exhibited promising antibacterial activity against Salmonella typhimurium and Staphylococcus aureus. Some of the compounds showed good antifungal activities against Aspergillus niger but the antifungal activities against Candida albicans were disappointing.

Abstract: An efficient synthesis of 3-trifluoromethyl-1-(3,4-difluorophenyl)-1H-pyrazol-5(4H)-one (3) and their Knoevenagel condensation reaction with 1,4-diphenyl -1H-pyrazole-3-carbaldehydes 4, 4-oxo-4H-chromene-3-carbaldehydes 6 and 2-chloroquinoline-3-carbaldehydes 8 have been described by using conventional and non-conventional techniques. Comparison of conventional and non-conventional techniques like Microwave , Ultrasonic assisted reactions showed that, the later procedure require shorter reaction time, good yield and was applicable for larger set of substrates emphasizing the importance of eco-friendly conditions.
Synthesis and biological activities of some indoline derivatives

Abstract: The reaction of indoline with a substituted benzoyl chloride in the presence of K2CO3 in THF gave compound 4. Compound 4 was subjected to chlorosulphonation to obtain compound 5. Condensation of aromatic amines with compound 5 led to the synthesis of indoline derivatives 6(a–f). Similarly, 5-nitroindoline was treated with a substituted benzoyl chloride to obtain the nitro compound 9, which was reduced using stannous chloride and reacted further with aromatic sulphonyl chloride to obtain the indoline derivatives 11(a–e). These compounds were tested for antibacterial, anti-tuberculosis and antifungal activity. Some of them showed very good activity against some gram-positive and gram negative bacteria, fungal strains and also Mycobacterium tuberculosis. All of the synthesized compounds were subjected to antioxidant activity testing using the in vitro DPPH assay and most of them showed very good activity.
New benzofuran derivatives as an antioxidant agent

Abstract: A series of substituted benzofuran derivatives were synthesized and characterized by spectral data. Some of the synthesized compounds were tested for in vitro antioxidant activity. Some of them have shown very good antioxidant activity. These compounds were also tested for antimicrobial activity against microbial strains viz. staphylococcus aureus (NCIM 5021) and salmonella typhimurium (NCIM 2501), but none of them showed any activity against these microorganisms.
Assessment of microbial contamination of chicken products sold in Parbhani city

Abstract: Three restaurants were randomly selected in Parbhani city for the purchase of chicken products which were then screened for microbial contamination. For the chicken curry samples the total aerobic counts ranged from 2.06-2.80 x 106 cfu/g; Staphylococcus aureus count :1.1- 1.47 x 106 cfu/g ; Enterobacteriaceae count: 1.57- 2.17 x 106 cfu/g ; lactic acid bacteria count(LAB) count :1.70 - 2.33 x 106 cfu/g. With respect to the sample of Tandoori chicken, the total aerobic count ranged from 3.54 x 106 cfu/g; S. aureus count: 1.8 x105- 2 x 107; Enterobacteriaceae count: 5.09 x 108 cfu/g; LAB count :1.3 -4.6 x 108 cfu/g. Probable organisms isolated from chicken curry were E. coli, Streptococcus sp., Clostridium sp., Klebsiella sp., Shigella sp., Pseudomonas sp., Lactobacillus sp., and S. aureus while those organisms isolated from Tandoori chicken include Salmonella, Proteus, Shigella, S. aureus, Klebsiella and Lactobacillus sp. Most of the chicken products sampled were therefore considered to pose health risk to consumers, making it imperative to institute not only sanitary measures during processing, storage and marketing but also to ensure steady source of power supply. Abstract: The ZrO2 thin films deposited on Si (100) were successfully synthesized by solgel process and deposited by using spin-coating technique.The structural properties of ZrO2 thin films were investigated by X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR), and electrical properties were studied by conventional techniques like Capacitance-Voltage (C-V) measurement and Current–Voltage (I–V) measurement. The XRD of ZrO2 films shows the films crystallized and exists in two phases at 700℃ calcinations temperature. The C–V characteristics of all the dielectric films that involved distinct inversion, depletion, and accumulation were clearly revealed in MIS structure. I-V characteristics of ZrO2 thin films on Si shows decreased saturation current on calcinations temperatures. The XPS measurement reveals that a zirconium silicate interfacial layer has formed in the ZrO2/Si Systems.
Representing object oriented database using XML-DTD

Abstract: The ability to handle complex data has made object oriented database gain a wide attention in thefield of scientific research and engineering. Using object-oriented database for scientific data in it hasseveral characteristics that should be considered for storing and retrieving it for future use. As thisinformation needs to be exchanged and shared, XML in itself is emerging as a standard for informationexchange over heterogeneous systems. The object oriented database structure designed using UMLstandard can be transformed into XML DTD. The XML DTD can further be used for obtaining DTD graph,which is further, used for extracting object oriented database schema by applying set of rules for classdefinition. This paper takes an example XML schema and transforms it into relational database schema. Asobject oriented database can be looked for more complex type of data handling compared to relationaldatabase, the XML schema is transformed to XML DTD and is used for representing object orienteddatabase schema.
