Journal of the Brazilian Society of Mechanical Sciences and Engineering , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S1678-58782012000300004
Abstract: a small dead region is seen in front of the rake face of the tool during cutting with negative rake. the lack of knowledge about the stagnant region in the cutting with negative rake requires researching new models. in this work, cutting mechanism of the metal cutting with negative rake angle tools and the stagnation zone formation were studied. a model was generated from the experimental work by usage of the dewhurst and collins' matrix technique for solving the slip-line problem numerically. this model was applied at negative rake angles from 0o to -70o. all slip line angles in the slip line model that consist of three regions were resolved with the help of the experimental data. variation of the dead metal zone and slip line regions with negative rake angle was determined. effects of the negative rake angle on the cutting and thrust forces were investigated according to the cutting speed.

Ozturk, Sabri;Altan, Erhan;
Journal of the Brazilian Society of Mechanical Sciences and Engineering , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S1678-58782012000400011
Abstract: the use of quick-stop device allows observing a sequence of frozen images focused on the chip formation area when machining in orthogonal turning tests. this work records the development of a quick-stop device employing a servo motor. the present invention relates generally to a quick stop device, for combination with a cutting machine that is able to abruptly interrupt the cutting process between a cutting tool and the surface being cut. a dead metal zone is clearly seen when using rounded-edge cutting tools. in this study, variation of the dead metal zone is examined with the computer aided quick-stop device (caqsd). it is clear from the experimental photomicrographs that as the cutting edge radius increases, dead metal zone increases.

Advances in Pure Mathematics (APM) , 2012, DOI: 10.4236/apm.2012.25047
Abstract: The aim of this paper is to prove that the average function of a trigonometrically ρ-convex function is trigonometrically ρ-convex. Furthermore, we show the existence of support curves implies the trigonometric ρ-convexity, and prove an extremum property of this function.
Fuel Saving and Control for Hybrid Electric Powertrains  [PDF]
Mohamed Zaher, Sabri Cetinkunt
Energy and Power Engineering (EPE) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/epe.2013.55035

This paper focuses on comparing the performance of the embedded control of a hybrid powertrain with the original and downsized engine. The main idea is to store the normally wasted mechanical regenerative energy in energy storage devices for later usage. The regenerative energy recovery opportunity exists in any condition where the speed of motion is in the opposite direction to the applied force or torque. A rule based optimal robust control algorithm is developed and is tuned for different work cycles. A comparison of the fuel savings using the hybrid system with the original and downsized engines is performed.

International Journal of Intelligence Science (IJIS) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/ijis.2013.33015

There are few changes that took place in Iraqin many fields during the past few years; the financial aspect is one of the fields that undergone this change. The change has positive impact because it increases the revenue inIraqfrom the oil exports. The National Insurance Company is one of many companies that belongs to the Ministry of Finance inIraqand has affected directly from this change in term of increasing the number of the insurers which we will discuss in this research. The aim of this research is to forecast the insurance premiums revenue of the National Insurance Company between the years 2012 to 2053 using Artificial Neural Network based on the actual annual data of the insurance premiums revenue between the years 1970 to 2011. The data analyses results of this research show that the growth indicator of the insurance premiums revenue for the next 41 years is approximately 120%, the Mean Squared Error is the average squared difference between outputs and targets. Lower values are better. Zero means no error and the regression values are very high. The estimations and forecasts of the insurance premiums revenue using Artificial Neural Network confirmed to be strong and useful to deploy it for forecasting the insurance premiums revenue.

International Journal of Intelligence Science (IJIS) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/ijis.2013.34017

This paper aims to demonstrate the importance and possible value of housing predictive power which provides independent real estate market forecasts on home prices by using data mining tasks. A (FFBP) network model and (CFBP) network model are one of these tasks used in this research to compare results of them. We estimate the median value of owner occupied homes in Boston suburbs given 13 neighborhood attributes. An estimator can be found by fitting the inputs and targets. This data set has 506 samples. ousing inputs” is a 13 × 506 matrix. Thehousing targets is a 1 × 506 matrix of median values of owner-occupied homes in $1000’s. The result in this paper concludes that which one of the two networks appears to be a better indicator of the output data to target data network structure than maximizing predict. The CFBP network which is the best result from the Output_network for all samples are found from the equation output = 0.95 * Target + 1.2. The regression

Consumer’s Purchase Intention towards Luxury Retailer’s Social Media Advertisements —A Case Study of a Shoe Retail—UAE-Dubai Mall  [PDF]
Eman Reda Sabri
Social Networking (SN) , 2019, DOI: 10.4236/sn.2019.81003
Digital marketing is considered the preferred method comparing to traditional marketing nowadays [1], but is it true for luxury and expensive products? Since the perception prevails that the concepts “luxury” and “digital” are quite incompatible [2], this paper aims to explore the effectiveness of digital marketing advertisements of luxury retailers, while also exploring consumer’s purchasing intent based on the viewing of such promotions. The overall goal is to provide a model of luxury purchase behaviour through harnessing social media. As a constructionist ontology-based researcher, I believe in multiple versions of reality which can evolve based on my target consumer experiences [3]. My epistemological stance is interpretivism with a subjective approach, inductively interacting with consumers to better understand what this “truth” means to them, incorporating textual material to support the analytical interpretations [4]. It is hoped this paper will inform fashion brands marketers about social media practice to achieve creation of purchase intention and ultimately achieve target sales. The paper is useful to both practitioners and academics in the fields of social media marketing and purchase intention. The research provides some initial insights into consumer perspectives of social media ads and online purchase behaviour.
Organization Appetite for Research: An Integrative Research Definition and Audit Framework to Evaluate Corporate Practice towards Research  [PDF]
Eman Reda Sabri
Social Networking (SN) , 2019, DOI: 10.4236/sn.2019.82006
Abstract: Organizational culture can be defined as the intermixture between values, visions, language, behaviors and beliefs that shape an entity’s unique operating environment. Although the personality of a business may be difficult to articulate, it can have a huge impact on how members of an organization deal with each other, customers and other stakeholders. A good organizational structure facilitates attainment of objectives through proper coordination of all activities. Recently, practitioners and academics aim to identify type of culture before starting a project. Accepting and conducting research is a project by itself, in which, many organizations have a flexible appetite to conduct research to help their objectives. This paper demonstrates the identification of appropriate frameworks to prepare an audit of the organizational culture towards research informed decision-making and management, which means that the paper will analyze definitions of what research means before conducting the organizational research-culture audit to understand the research appetite of the organization.
A Different Technique of Primary Indirect Inguinal Hernia Repair by Inserting a Synthetic Mesh into the Pre and Retroperitoneal Spaces to Wrap the Peritoneal Reflection: Preliminary Report
A Altan
Internet Journal of Medical Update - EJOURNAL , 2010,
Abstract: In most methods of indirect inguinal hernia repair, the region of the sac stump remains a potential site of recurrence. A different technique that covers the site of the indirect sac stump is presented. Anterior parietal peritoneum is reflected posteriorly in the inguinal canal. In cases with Gilbert type I-II inguinal hernia, after the indirect sac is removed, the pre and retroperitoneal spaces in this region are dissected. A synthetic mesh is placed into these spaces, lateral to the inferior epigastric vessels. The posterior wall of this type hernia is intact. In cases with Gilbert type III inguinal hernia, either posterior wall repair is accomplished by using one of the tissue approximation techniques after placing a mesh in the region of the sac stump, or the entire peritoneal reflection in the inguinal canal is wrapped with a mesh after dissecting the pre and retroperitoneal spaces. This technique was performed in five patients. Of five patients, mesh was inserted on the region of stump in three (Gilbert I and II) and along the entire peritoneal reflection in two (Gilbert III). There were no postoperative complications such as seroma and pain and no recurrence till follow-up. This technique effectively wraps the peritoneal reflection and may prevent recurrences in primary indirect inguinal hernia, but it needs to be performed in a large number of cases for further evaluation. Which Fields and Articles Contributed Most to Medicine from Turkey?
Altan ONAT
Marmara Medical Journal , 2011,
Abstract: Objective: To determine and disclose publications from Turkey that have contributed most “genuinely” to medicine in the past 40 years.Method: Based on data from the Web of Science, 100 publications originating from Turkey’s institutions were identified as having received by June, 2011, the greatest number of citations. Papers having more than a minor share by international authors were excluded. Results: Eighty-three primary authors generated 100 medical papers, each receiving>82 (95% GA 83; 230) citations. These articles, cited herein, were in the top 1% to 6% papers in the world. Half of the articles were published in 1994-2002. An estimated 10-12 such highly cited papers are produced currently in Turkey annually which represent only a global share of 0.5 per mille. The rate of rise registered in the period 1995-2005 may be anticipated not to persist later. Internal medicine, led by rheumatology, hematology and cardiology, and neurosciences were represented above the average. Health issues encountered more widely than in other populations, headed by Beh et’s disease, were the most frequent topics. Conclusion: Results are unsatisfactory compared with the potential of Turkey. A concerted and much greater effort is needed to rebuild an environment that focuses on promoting research with a potential for contributing to medicine. (Marmara Medical Journal 2011;24:156-61)
