A Note on -Cofinitely Supplemented Modules

Abstract: Let R be a ring and M a right R-module. In this note, we show that a quotient of an ⊕-cofinitely supplemented module is not in general ⊕-cofinitely supplemented and prove that if a module M is an ⊕-cofinitely supplemented multiplication module with Rad(M)≪M, then M can be written as an irredundant sum of local direct summand of M. An extension of the result of Calisici and Pancar [1], here it is shown that an arbitrary module is cofinitely semiperfect if and only if it is an (amply) cofinitely supplemented by supplements which have projective covers.
Relationship between syndrome differentiation of traditional Chinese medicine and vascular endothelial function in patients with diabetic arterial occlusion of lower extremities

Abstract: Objective: To investigate the relationship between syndrome differentiation of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and characteristic changes of vascular endothelial function in patients with diabetic arterial occlusion (DAO) of lower extremities.Methods: Forty patients with DAO were selected as trial group. Twenty patients among them were attributed to blood stasis syndrome (group A1), and the others were attributed to syndrome of pathogenic dampness-heat attacking the lower limb (group A2) according to syndrome differentiation type of TCM. Patients with diabetes (group B), arteriosclerosis obliterans (group C) and healthy people (group D) were observed as the control groups, respectively. There were 20 cases in each group. Endothelium-dependent dilation (EDD) and endothelium-independent dilation (EID) were measured by high resolution ultrasound in the 100 subjects and the changes of vascular tension factors were also studied.Results: The results showed that EDD in group A was reduced significantly as compared with that in the groups B, C and D. The levels of vascular contractile factors such as endothelin-1 (ET-1) and thromboxane B2 (TXB2) in group A were higher than those in the groups B, C and D, while the levels of vascular dilatory factors such as nitric oxide (NO) and 6-keto-prostaglandin F1α (6-Keto-PGF1α) were declined significantly as compared with those in the groups B and D. Linear correlation analysis showed that EDD was correlated positively with the levels of NO and 6-Keto-PGF1α, while the levels of ET-1 and TXB2 had negative correlation with EDD. EDD and EID in group A2 were declined significantly as compared with those in group A1.Conclusion: Our findings indicate that endothelial dysfunction may play an important role in the pathogenesis of DAO and may be associated with syndrome differentiation of TCM.

Abstract: To solve the problem of the large Doppler frequency offset in the LEO communication system, this paper studies a rapid PN code acquisition method based on the PMF-FFT architecture, which searches the phase and frequency offset and at the same time reduces the acquisition time. It presents an improved method equivalent to windowing function and uses windowing process to overcome the attenuation of related peak envelope caused by partial matched filters.
Component Carrier Selection and Beamforming on Carrier Aggregated Channels in Heterogeneous Networks  [PDF]

Abstract: In this paper, component carrier selection and beamforming on carrier aggregated channels in Heterogeneous Networks are proposed. The scheme jointly selects the component carrier and precoding (i.e. beamforming) vectors with the cooperation of the other cells to deal with the interference between Macro cell and Pico cell. The component carrier selection and beamforming is achieved by optimizing the multi-cell downlink throughput. This optimization results in shutting down a subset of the component carrier in order to allow for a perfect interference removal at the receive side in the dense low power node deployment scenario. Additionally, algorithm based on Branch and Bound Method is used to reduce the search complexity of the algorithm. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme can achieve high cell-average and cell-edge throughput for the Pico cell in the Heterogeneous Networks.
Gated Conductance of Thin Indium Tin Oxide - The Simplest Transistor

Abstract: Transistors are the fundamental building block of modern electronic devices. So far, all transistors are based on various types of semiconductor junctions. The most common bipolar-junction transistors and metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors contain p-n junctions to control the current, depending on applied biases across the junctions. Thin-film transistors need metal-semiconductor junctions for injecting and extracting electrons from their channels. Here, by coating a heavily-doped thin indium-tin-oxide (ITO) film through a shadow mask onto a biopolymer chitosan/ITO/glass substrate, we can have a high-performance junctionless transparent organic-inorganic hybrid thin film transistor. This could be the simplest transistor in the world, to our knowledge, not only in its structure, but also its fabrication process. In addition, the device performance is found to be greatly enhanced using a reinforced chitosan/SiO2 hybrid bilayer dielectric stack. Our results clearly show that this architecture can lead to a new class of low-cost transistors.
Double quantum dot as detector of spin bias

Abstract: It was proposed that a double quantum dot can be used to be a detector of spin bias. Electron transport through a double quantum dot is investigated theoretically when a pure spin bias is applied on two conducting leads contacted to the quantum dot. It is found that the spin polarization in the left and right dots may be induced spontaneously while the intra-dot levels are located within the spin bias window and breaks the left-right symmetry of the two quantum dots. As a result, a large current emerges. For an open external circuit an charge bias instead of a charge current will be induced in equilibrium, which is believed to be measurable according to the current nanotechnology. This method may provide a practical and whole electrical approach to detect the spin bias (or the spin current) by measuring the charge bias or current in a double quantum dot.

Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to assess the coordinated development degree of land use and eco-environment in Wuxi City and choose the appropriate adjustment mode. Methods employed include documentation analysis, the coordinated development degree model analysis and BP neural network model analysis. The result shows that the coordinated development degree of land use and eco-environment in Wuxi City presents overall ever-increasing trends and that the overall consideration mode can reduce the contradiction between land use and eco-environment, which is a suitable mode for Wuxi City. It is concluded that the coordinated development degree model and BP neural network model have high reliability and practicability in evaluating and adjusting the coordinated development degree of land use and eco-environment in Wuxi City.

Abstract: The Fe-based coating was produced on the surface of the column substrate with a Al2O3 cylindrical sleeve by high frequency induction cladding, microstructure of the coating was investigated with scanning electron microscope (SEM), the crystal structure was characterized by X-ray diffractometer (XRD), the microhardness and wear resisitance of the coating were evaluated. The results show that a metallurgical bond between coating and substrate was obtained during the rapid solidification, the phases of the coating were composed of austenite and the eutectic of γ-Fe + (Cr, Fe)7(C, B)3. Compared with the substrate, the microhardness and wear resistance of the coating improved apparently, solid-solution strengthening and second-phase particle hardening led to these results.
Prevalence of and factors associated with various level of body weight among Inner Mongolia medical students in China  [PDF]

Abstract: Background: To date no study on the body weight of medical students in Inner Mongolia has been carried out. The aim of the present study was to determine the prevalence of and factors associated with various body weight levels, and the physical health status associated with body weight levels among medical students attending the Inner Mongolia Medical College of China in 2011. Methods: Data on participant characteristics came from basic information contained in the school database. Students’ body weight was categorized using standard height and weight and physical health status using the college student physical health standard. Factors associated with various level of body weight were identified using multinomial logistic regression analysis. Results: The sample comprised 2060 males and 5096 females. The appropriate body weight prevalence among the students was 51.7%. The prevalence of being overweight or obese was 5.8 and 8.5%, respecttively, higher compared to the typical prevalence among college students in China. Both male and female students in the 24-28-years age group had the lowest appropriate weight percentage and the highest obesity percentage among all the age groups. For female medical students, the prevalence of obesity for students studying in Clinical Medicine was higher than for other faculties. Multinomial logistic regression analysis of male students showed that lowest year of education (year 1) was a protective factor in regard to appropriate weight. For both male and female medical students, the obese group had the highest proportion of poor physical health status compared to other categories of body weight and the proportion with excellent physiccal health status constituted < 1% for males and 0% for females. Conclusions: School administrators should encourage medical students to actively participate in body weight training and education to improve attitudes toward inappropriate body weight, to increase protective factors, and reduce the risk factors for inappropriate body weight.

This paper focuses on the problem about how to efficiently process the emergency of rail transit and guarantee the lowest accident loss in a short period of time, which is the urban rail transit management policy that makers are faced with, and which develops a high integrated system with strong information based on contingency plans to give the decision aid of urban rail transit emergency events. The paper uses formal methods to present the emergency plan, generate the emergency disposal plan, meet the requirements of on-site emergency disposal, and it realizes the modernization of urban rail transit emergency management which has an important significance. Finally, taking a subway fire as an example, it describes the practicality of the auxiliary decision system.
