Reactive Scheduling of DAG Applications on Heterogeneous and Dynamic Distributed Computing Systems
Hernández Hernández, Jesús Israel;
Computación y Sistemas , 2009,
Abstract: emerging computational platforms enable a set of geographically distributed computers with different capabilities to be linked together and used in a coordinated fashion to solve a parallel application at the same time. effective scheduling mechanisms are essential to exploit the tremendous potential of computational resources offered by such platforms. we consider the problem of scheduling parallel applications which are often abstracted as directed acyclic graphs (dags), in which vertices represent application tasks and edges represent data dependencies between tasks. the core scheduling issues are that the availability and performance of resources, which are already by their nature heterogeneous, can be expected to vary dynamically, even during the course of an execution. this thesis summary presents the main results of the global task positioning (gtp) mapping method, which is based on the cyclic use of a static mapping method over time. we place strong emphasis in three key aspects, which we believe are central to address the dynamic nature of the problem: reactivity, data-aware components and fault tolerance.
LA PARTICIPACIóN CIUDADANA EN BOGOTá, 1900-2010: DISCURSOS, TRAYECTORIAS, EXPECTATIVAS Y LIMITACIONES
Hernández,Andrés;
Colombia Internacional , 2010,
Abstract: this article provides an analysis of three main trends and citizenship participation processes which have grown and expanded during the last two decades within the city: first are the concerns over the explosion of citizen participation spaces in district and local governments; second, a new form of social accountability and control; third is the growing presence of new social movements, in particular the environmentalist movement. these three processes coordinate to defend participatory democracy and citizen participation in public affairs and rescue the central role of civil society. this coordination is nevertheless apparent in many issues, conflicts, and spaces represented through different projects.
Amartya Sen: ethics and economics Amartya Sen. ética y economía
Hernández Andrés
Cuadernos de Economía , 1998,
Abstract: This essay presents two contributions of the Amartya Sen to the debates over ethics and economics. First, his break with utilitarianist and welfarist ethics -the foundation of normative economics- and his call to modify the metrics of utility, the only 'field of information' that these normative traditions use to judge individual and social welfare, that is, people's opportunities, the impact of public policies and the success of social organizations. Second, his proposal for a valorization scheme that transcends the narrow conception of utilitarianism, which does not fall into ethical relativism and which incorpora tes the analysis of real rights and freedoms without taking refuge in deontological moral reasoning. With that, he demonstrates that one of his greatest contributions to normative economics is his effort to construct a framework for pluralist and consequentialist (based on consequences) moral evaluation, which abandons the criterion of utility, allows the evaluation of the level of people's real freedom, and admits the possibility of a moral 'objective' sensitive to the life plans of individuals and to the achievement or fail of their rights.

Journal of Water Resource and Protection (JWARP) , 2016, DOI: 10.4236/jwarp.2016.82016
Abstract: In the world, only a few decades ago, human progress based on the consumption of energy from fossil fuels has pushed us to accept it as the cause of global warming. This problem will continue due to an unbalance of the environment, originated by the increase of CO2 via consumption of fossil fuel, added to the decrease of O2 in the air due to the growth of desertification. The article is a lesson to the study of global warming. In Mexico, at the local level, the richest region in biodiversity in the state of Hidalgo is becoming a desert by the performance of the main economic activities of the population. In sum, the damage in such a way at the region Otomi Tepehua, wide desert areas will become visible; nevertheless, current conditions of rainfall still take place, which could worsen life conditions for its population; increasing poverty among it, due to the direct decrease in the amount and quality of milpas. Moreover, water and oxygen decrease will impact negatively on the majority of population located in the center of Mexico.

Revista Espa?ola de Cirugía Oral y Maxilofacial , 2009, DOI: 10.4321/S1130-05582009000500004
Abstract: benign parotid tumor surgery is related to fundamental nervous structures, defined simply: that when damaged cause great psychosomatic problems. in order to make peripheral facial nerve surgery easy to handle for the surgeon this article emphasizes the importance of the facial vein in the dissection and conservation of the nerve. its dissection can be compromised if the caudal branches are damaged. the study that we develop should be seen as praise for the vein structures in the follow up and control of the peripheral facial nerve, and the main auricular nerve that is often undervalued when it is no longer the protagonist in the face.

Benign parotid tumor surgery is related to fundamental nervous structures, defined simply: that when damaged cause great psychosomatic problems.

Despite technological advances in a globalized world conflicts always arise about authorship of scientific procedures. To help resolve the conflicts that arise about the origin of transfacial surgery we have been entertained with bibliographical support to organize the aspects of a possible origin and author as it is understood today. Without forgetting people in history that in the XIX century foreshadowed and provided ideas from which we could determine who was the first to write the content and true possibilities. Putting those who incorporated the procedure late, with pretensions of protagonism in their place.
Use of Cucurbit [6] Uril as a Modifier in the Electrochemical Determination of Antitumor Platinum (II) Complex: Trans-[PtCl2(Dimethylamine) (Isopropylamine)]. Application to Biological Samples  [PDF]
Carmen S. H. Domínguez, Pedro Hernández
American Journal of Analytical Chemistry (AJAC) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/ajac.2013.46040
Abstract:

A square wave voltammetry (DPV) method for trans-Pt[Cl2(Dimethylamine)(isopropylamine)] determination is developed. To this end, all the chemical and instrumental variables affecting the determination of trans-Pt[Cl2(Dimethylamine) (isopropylamine)] are optimized. From studies of the mechanisms governing the electrochemical response of trans-Pt[Cl2(Dimethylamine)(isopropylamine)], it was concluded that it was an electrochemically reversible system with an adsorptive oxidation phenomenon. Under optimal conditions, the variation of analytical signal (Ip) with trans-Pt[Cl2(Dimethylamine)(isopropylamine)] concentration was linear in the 0.05 μg·mL-1 to 10 μg·mL-1 range, with a LOD 91 μg·mL-1 of and a LOQ of

Recovering Scrap Anode Copper Using Reactive Electrodialysis  [PDF]
Gerardo Cifuentes, José Hernández, Nicolás Guajardo
American Journal of Analytical Chemistry (AJAC) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/ajac.2014.515108
Abstract: Despite functioning without major operational problems—copper electro-refining does not allow complete use of copper anodes, peaking at 85% of the copper anode in weight. Consequently, the remaining 15% of scrap copper must be recirculated into the copper smelting. The use of reactive electrodyalysis is a system capable of continuously electro-refining scrap, by using a stainless steel basket and a cationic exchanging membrane in order to increase production of copper cathodes at the same percentage; it currently today returns to the copper smelter. In terms of specific energy consumption, this process would use between 3 and 4 times the value of normal electro-refining.
Use of Graphene and Cucurbit[7]uril Electrodes for the Determination of Amantadine in Biological Fluids  [PDF]
C. S. H. Domínguez, P. Hernández
American Journal of Analytical Chemistry (AJAC) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/ajac.2015.67060
Abstract: A differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) method for amantadine (AT) determination is developed. To this end, all the chemical and instrumental variables affecting the determination of amantadine are optimized. These studies have used three types of glassy-carbon electrode, first electrode which has not undergone surface modification or coating, to then modify the working electrode surface with two kinds of suspensions: graphene and graphene-cucurbit[7]uril (CB[7]). From studies of the mechanisms governing the electrochemical response of amantadine, it was concluded that it is an electrochemically system with a diffusive reduction phenomenon. Under optimal conditions and with the appropriate electrode modification, we proceed to study the relation between the peak intensity with the analyte concentration. Thus, we find that when the electrode surface is covered with graphene-CB[7], two linear sections are obtained, the first one in the concentration range of between 0.05 μg·mL﹣1 and 0.75 μg·mL﹣1 ; and the second one between 1.00 μg·mL﹣1 and 6.00 μg·mL﹣1, with Er (%) = 87 and R.S.D. = 0.94% (n = 10 at 0.5 μg·mL﹣1 level). The minimum detectable amount was 15 ng·mL﹣1 while a concentration of 44 ng·mL﹣1 was calculated as determination limit. The optimized method was applied to the determination of amantadine in biological fluids.
