Ferreira,Sílvia; Morais,Ana Maria;
Revista Portuguesa de Educa??o , 2010,
Abstract: the study analyses the extent to which the sociological message transmitted by the official pedagogic discourse of the natural science curriculum for portuguese middle school considers the nature of science. it is epistemologically and sociologically grounded with particular emphasis on bernstein?s theory of pedagogic discourse and ziman?s conceptualization of science construction. the study used a mixed methodology and followed a dialectical process between the theoretical and the empirical. the results show that the nature of science is, in general, present in the curriculum but the external sociological dimension of science is the only dimension with high status. this general low status attributed to the nature of science is compounded with the high absence in the curriculum of intradisciplinary relations between scientific and metascientific knowledge. the results also show that the ministry of education leaves implicit to teachers, even when they are present, not only the metascientific knowledge to be learned and the metascientific competences to be developed but also the intradisciplinary relations between scientific and metascientific knowledge. differences were found between the two main parts of the curriculum - essential competences and curriculum guidelines - which indicate recontextualization processes. these results are discussed and their consequences in terms of scientific learning are explored.

Psicologia & Sociedade , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-71822010000300011
Abstract: the paper discusses the concept of promotion of health and the relationship with the practices of health addressed to the adolescence in situation of social and personal vulnerability. in the last decades, the crescent indicatives of morbimortality in that social group, above all due to external causes, reiterate the importance of a larger attention of the politics of health addressed to the adolescence. in that sense, this study exposes the guidelines of the ministry of health for the integral service to the health of that population and illustrates by the report of an intervention addressed to the adolescents' health in street situation, as the beginnings of promotion they can be put in practice. finally, suggests that the psychologists' performance must be found in the beginnings proposed by the field of the promotion of the health, so much in terms of conception of the process health-disease while a social production as of objective of the therapeutic practice -autonomy promotion, co-responsibility, empowerment and awareness.
ARAUJO DE MORAIS,NORMANDA; RAFFAELLI,MARCELA; KOLLER,SíLVIA HELENA;
Avances en Psicología Latinoamericana , 2012,
Abstract: a multiple case study design was applied to data collected through ecological engagement in developmental contexts of adolescents in socially vulnerable situations. four adolescents were selected from a larger study of 98 brazilian adolescents in two distinct groups (g1 - youth in street situations and g2 - impoverished youth living with their families). the selected adolescents had the highest and lowest adjustment scores in their respective groups. quantitative data and observational field notes were used to describe the four youth on indicators of adjustment and risk and protective factors. results indicated points of convergence and divergence between the cases and the existence of a continuum of social vulnerability that was strongly related to how risk and protective factors interact in the life of each adolescent, rather than being strongly related to living situation (street or families).

Universitas Psychologica , 2012,

Abstract:
The central importance of quantum chemistry is to obtain solutions of the Schr?dinger equation for the accurate determination of the properties of atomic and molecular systems that occurred from the calculation of wave functions accurate for many diatomic and polyatomic molecules, using Self Consistent Field method (SCF). The application of quantum chemical methods in the study and planning of bioactive compounds has become a common practice nowadays. From the point of view of planning it is important to note, when it comes to the use of molecular modeling, a collective term that refers to methods and theoretical modeling and computational techniques to mimic the behavior of molecules, not intend to reach a bioactive molecule simply through the use of computer programs. The choice of method for energy minimization depends on factors related to the size of the molecule, parameters of availability, stored data and computational resources. Molecular models generated by the computer are the result of mathematical equations that estimate the positions and properties of the electrons and nuclei, the calculations exploit experimentally, the characteristics of a structure, providing a new perspective on the molecule. In this work we show that studies of Highest Occupied Molecular Orbital Energy (HOMO), Low Unoccupied Molecular Orbital Energy (LUMO) and Map of molecular electrostatic potential (MEP) using Hatree-Fock method with different basis sets (HF/3-21G*, HF/3-21G**, HF/6-31G, HF/6-31G*, HF/6-31G** and HF/6-311G), that are of great importance in modern chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, and other fields of knowledge of health sciences. In order to obtain a significant correlation, it is essential that the descriptors are used appropriately. Thus, the quantum chemical calculations are an attractive source of new molecular descriptors that can, in principle, express all the geometrical and electronic properties of molecules and their interactions with biological receptor.
Carvalho, Fernanda Torres de;Morais, Normanda Araujo de;Koller, Sílvia Helena;Piccinini, Cesar Augusto;
Cadernos de Saúde Pública , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-311X2007000900011
Abstract: the aim of this theoretical review was to articulate the resilience concept with key aspects in the lives of people living with hiv/aids. we emphasize the analysis of protective factors traditionally related to resilience (personal characteristics and social and affective support networks). the reviewed studies show important protective factors that contribute to the health and well-being of people with hiv/aids, such as cognitive coping and acceptance of their hiv status, family participation in treatment and family support, the role of governmental and nongovernmental institutions, and religious beliefs. the concept of resilience defined as a dynamic process that allows human beings to overcome adversities is essential for understanding hiv infection and treatment of aids patients. it helps decrease stigmatization and prejudice towards the disease and patients. it also helps alter the notion that living with aids is incompatible with well-being and quality of life and fosters the creation of new hiv/aids prevention and treatment perspectives.
Morais, Normanda Araujo de;Leit?o, Hilmeri da Silva;Koller, Sílvia Helena;Campos, Herculano Ricardo;
Psicologia em Estudo , 2004, DOI: 10.1590/S1413-73722004000300006
Abstract: this work investigates the positive and negative aspects of the experience of living in a boarding school to the psychological development of students, the influences of the collective experience on the school performance and the conception of an ideal boarding school. five semi-structured interviews were conducted with 15-22 year-old students. data was analyzed through content analysis. both positive and negative aspects of the boarding school experience were pointed out from the group-gathering category (possibility of making new friends versus fights and arguments). the limitations of the boarding school concerning facilities and physical structure, as well as the stressful routine, were the main implications of the collective experience on the school performance. the interns' concept of an ideal boarding school depended on facilities and structure improvements, and on the quality of the relationships. the results are important to educative context comprehension's that received little attention in the literatura.
