Remote Sensing and GIS as an Advance Space Technologies for Rare Vegetation Monitoring in Gobustan State National Park, Azerbaijan  [PDF]

Abstract: This paper describes remote sensing methodologies for monitoring rare vegetation with special emphasis on the Image Statistic Analysis for set of training samples and classification. At first 5 types of Rare Vegetation communities were defined and the Initial classification scheme was designed on that base. After preliminary Statistic Analysis for training samples, a modification algorithm of the classification scheme was defined: one led us to creating a 4 class’s scheme (Final classification scheme). The different methods analysis such as signature statistics, signature separability and scatter plots are used. According to the results, the average separability (Transformed Divergence) is 1951.14, minimum is 1732.44 and maximum is 2000 which shows an acceptable level of accuracy. Contingency Matrix computed on the results of the training on Final classi- fication scheme achieves better results, in terms of overall accuracy, than the training on Initial classification scheme.
Test Site/In-Situ Data for Earth Observation in Case of Limited Field Data Access  [PDF]

Remote sensing (RS) is the method making possible of observing, recording and collecting of objects or features on the Earth from distant places. There is no direct contact with the investigated objects. It is reflecting radiation scattering from the Earth surface content information in the form of wavelengths in different range of spectrum. Main source of the information comes from satellites forming as space image. A further step of the analyses of space image and interpretation is required in order to extract the useful information from the image. The goal of a remote sensing method is to extract the information that is directly related to a management process creating opportunity efficiently adapted to the data ultimately interested purpose. It provides an impact in wide areas of time management as well as cost and financial resources coordination in the stages of development and implementation. A success of this achievement depends on a successful use of the multilevel data collected from space-borne and the field observation systems. It is necessary to optimize the infrastructure for the data acquisition and analyzing, effectively data processing and integration with further use for decision making. The option of optimization contains adequate instrumentation and better timing and coordination in information collecting and management. There is a limitation in some cases for the investigated area for the field data access. It makes necessary to embrace the need for the field data using indirect way for satisfaction of the space image processing needs. General approach is to use the test site data integrated into the space data for processing. The main purpose of the paper is to recommend how to cover existing gap and limitation in the field data. For this reason, the use of the Test Site/In situ data for fitting of the field data limitation in the space image processing oriented for the Earth observation is demonstrated in this paper. There is one more advantage of offered approach is to use the Test Site/In situ for multilevel data access. The use of a country area with features contenting the main land cover/land use needs for the field data required in the space image processing is recommended. The method of the data collection process with further integration into space data which is necessary part of the space information processing as an evidence of reliability of used technology is described in this paper. The result of offered approach demonstrates the philosophy of using of the Test Site/In situ data which is a vital problem in space data processing. Conclusion of suggested way of problem solving demonstrates exclusion not only lack of field data as well as creating the environment of multilevel data access which makes the increase accuracy of the data processing.

Abstract: The fact is that it is always attempted to develop suitable motivation factors satisfying company management needs in this very sensitive as well as vital aspects of development. Each of existing approaches at some point has been applied and tested as to its effects on people’s lives, jobs, and personal goals in life as well as in the work place. Honestly, it is very difficult to find out motivation factors, which can be used in wide areas of management process. There is no flexible manner of factors to apply in large areas of business. It makes necessary to adopt behavior of motivation factors depending on business type or spheres. Obviously it opens an environment to differentiate motivation factors for successful observation and monitoring of the process. There are wide methods of motivation factors existing in different sources [1]. This paper offers a new approach of definition of motivation factors. For this reason a cognitive classification formed on the Masloff hierarchy categories is suggested. It states detailed classification of a large number of factors, which make assume a wide use of such option in different type of business areas. One more advantage of this classification of motivation factors is the most convenient of measurability of developed system. This subject is highly important especially meeting the main requirements of the system with SMART segmentation. It makes possible and opens an opportunity easily to assess the system for further right decision-making.
Queuing Management in Wireless Sensor Networks for QoS Measurement  [PDF]

Abstract: Data transmission in multimedia WSNs are required high bandwidth and reliable transfer because of large amount of data size. However, some applications of WSNs are required high quality. In this context, main factor in quality of services (QoS) metrics in WSNs becomes longevity of the network and high quality. In sensor nodes, choosing relevant transceiver and microcontroller components plays important role in assembling sensor devices, in which data controls should be designed so that packet loss is minimized. Available QoS metrics based on queuing/buffer management in wired and other wireless networks don’t applicable in WSNs because of its unique characteristics. In this paper the simplest model of QoS model-bufferless system were proposed. In the proposed model, measurement of the probability of blocking of the arrival packets was suggested by using queuing theory in order to increase QoS. Given probability of blocking (PB) illustrates clear picture how system specification should be chosen so that blocking state would be minimized.

Abstract: Changes in parameters of hemostasis, such as, prolongation of prothrombin time and thrombin clotting time were registered in oil and gas facility workmen exposed to a combination of health hazards. The changes are determined by age and service record; being physiological they still can be the evidence for impairment of potential functional activity of the gastrointestinal tract and the liver. Hemostasis parameters can be used to study methods for prevention of hemorrhages in the preparation for eye surgery.

Abstract: Rich experimental data have been collected in heavy-ion collisions at high energies to study the properties of strongly interacting matter. As the theory of strong interactions, QCD, predicts asymptotic freedom, the created matter at sufficiently high temperature and density will be dominated by a state of quasi-free quarks and gluons referred to as the Quark-Qluon Plasma (QGP). Experimental signals for the onset of the QGP creation (the onset of the deconfinement) have been predicted within the statistical model for the early stage of nucleus-nucleus collisions. In this model the existence of two different phases is assumed: confined mater and the QGP, as well as a first order phase transition between them. Until recently, these predictions were confirmed only by the NA49 experiment at the CERN SPS. In this report recent results from STAR at RHIC/BNL and from ALICE at LHC/CERN, related to the onset of deconfinement, will be compared to published results from NA49.

Abstract: Using the equivalence between the renormalized Euler characteristic of Ozsvath and Szabo, and the Turaev torsion normalized by the Casson-Walker invariant, we make calculations for $S^3_{p/q}(K)$. An alternative proof of a theorem by Ozsv\'ath and Szab\'o on $L$-space surgery obstructions is provided.
On Plumbed L-spaces

Abstract: L-spaces were introduced by Ozsvath and Szabo using the Heegaard Floer Homology. In the quest for L-spaces we consider links of isolated complete intersection surface singularities. We show that if such a manifold is an L-space, then it is a link of a rational singularity. We also prove that if it is not an L-space then it admits a symplectic filling with $b_2^+>0$. Based on these results we pin down all integral homology sphere L-spaces in this realm.
On Heegaard Floer homology of plumbed three-manifolds with b_1=1

Abstract: In this paper we extend the results of \cite{Plumbing} to calculate Ozsv\'ath-Szab\'o Floer homology group HF+ for a class of negative-semidefinite plumbings with b_1 = 1.
