Balan?o eletrolítico para suínos machos castrados em crescimento mantidos em ambiente de alta temperatura

Abstract: the effect of electrolyte balance (eb) in diets with different levels of electrolytes for growing swine under high environmental temperature was evaluated. two hundred castrated pigs with initial weight of 25.3±1.3 kg and final weight of 68.8±3.4 kg were allotted in a completely randomized experimental design with five treatments and four replicates with 10 pigs per experimental unit, for the growing phase t1 (control) diet without electrolyte 191 meq/kg; t2 (nahco3) diet supplemented with sodium bicarbonate (nahco3) 250 meq/kg; t3 (nahco3+kcl) diet supplemented with (nahco3) and potassium chloride (kcl) 250 meq/kg; t4 (nahco3) diet supplemented with (nahco3) 300 meq/kg; t5 (nahco3+kcl) diet supplemented with nahco3 and (kcl) 300 meq/kg. the performance parameters evaluated were: feed intake, daily gain, nitrogen intake, lysine intake, efficiency of nitrogen use for weight gain, efficiency of lysine use for weight gain and the gain-to-feed ratio and the physiological parameters, respiratory frequency and rectal temperature. blood was colleted to measure serum concentration of na, cl and k. the average temperature was 29.65±3.80o c with relative humidity of 69.6±10.4%, black globe temperature of 31.95±1.98o c and temperature index calculated of 80.51±2.44. the levels of eb decreased (p<0.05) the feed intake and improved nitrogen intake. the other performance parameters evaluated were not influenced by the treatment (p>0.05). the correction of eb did not influence the growth of the swine.

Abstract: this work was carried out to determine the nutritional value of corn of different qualities, obtained by means of stratification in densimetric table, for broilers in different ages. the corns were designed as: mda - high density corn; mdi - medium density corn; mdb - low density corn and mdt - total density corn, composed by 30% mda, 60% mdi and 10% mdb. two biological assays were carried out using the traditional total excreta collection method to determine the apparent metabolizable energy corrected by nitrogen balance (amen). the first assay was carried out using cobb chicks with 11 to 19 days old and in the second assay, with chicks with 29 to 37 days old. chemical analyses were made to estimate the nutritional profile, classification of the grains according to density and comparison by means of prediction equation estimatives the energy values and mycotoxins. the digestible amino acids profiles were obtained by nir. the values of amen of corns of different qualities (mda, mdi, mdb and mdt) for broilers in initial phase were respectively: 3308; 3121; 2937 and 3239 kcal/kg; and broilers in growing phase were respectively: 3413, 3362, 3174 and 3348 kcal/kg. these results indicated significant energy losses of low density corn and the efficiency of the densimetric table to stratify the grains by quality. the different amen values between birds ages suggest better energy utilization efficiency as age increases. the prediction equations could be used to estimate energy value of corn by its classification or density. however, the error associated to each prediction equation could compromise the accuracy of the nutritional value. the contaminations by aflatoxins and trichothecenes changed with quality of the stratified corn, important factor to be considered in the broilers feeding.

Abstract: this experiment was carried out to evaluate the influence of the reduction of dietary cp levels and amino acid supplementation on performance of barrows maintained in a high environmental temperature. a total of sixty crossbreed (landrace x large white) piglets (average body weight = 29.8 kg) was allotted in a completely randomized experimental design with five treatments (17, 16, 15, 14 and 13% cp), six replications and two animals per experimental unit. diets and water were suplied ad libitum until the end of the experimental period, when the animals reached the average weight of 59.9 kg. the average temperature in the room was maintained at 32.2oc and the relative humidity at 74.4%, corresponding to a black globe-humidity index of 82.8. the reduction of dietary cp level affected weight gain (wg). the animals fed 14% cp diet showed significant wg reduction. feed intake (fi) also was affected by cp level, and the animals fed 14% cp diet showed smaller fi values than those fed 16 and 13% cp diets. feed:gain ratio was not affected by treatments. the animals fed the diet with 14% cp showed the smallest values of protein and fat deposition rates in the carcass. the animals fed the diet with 17% cp showed higher kidneys weights. it was concluded that dietary cp level for barrows from 30 to 60 kg body weight, maintained in a high environmental temperature, can be reduced from 17 to 13% with no effect on performance and protein deposition rate in carcass since diets are supplemented with essential amino acids.

Abstract: a trial was conduced to evaluate decreasing levels of cp with amino acid supplementation on performance of gilts on thermoneutral environment. thirty-five crossbreed gilts (landrace x large white) averaging initial weight of 60.5 kg were allotted to a complete randomized design with five treatments (17.3, 16, 14.7, 13.4 and 12.1% of cp) of seven replications (one animal per experimental unit). the experimental diets were fed ad libitum until the end of the experiment when the animals reached the average weight of 100.6 kg. no effect of decreasing dietary levels of crude protein on performance (feed intake, weight gain and feed gain ratio) was observed. decreasing dietary cp levels did not affect the carcass characteristics (carcass length, loin eye area, backfat thickness and carcass, lean growth, fat and ham yield), but affected the relative and absolute weights of liver and the greatest value was observed in animals fed diet with 16.0% of cp. decreasing dietary cp levels from 17.3 to 12.1% for gilts from 60 to 100 kg on thermoneutral environment did not affect performance, since diets are supplemented with limiting essential amino acids.

Abstract: an study was conducted to evaluate the influence of reduction of crude protein (cp) levels and amino acid supplementation in diets on the performance of castrated swines (landracex large white) maintained in a termoneutral environment. fifty crossbreed piglets (average initial body weight of 30.2 kg) were allotted to a completely randomized experimental design with five treatments (17, 16, 15, 14 and 13% cp) and five replications and two animals per experimental unit. experimental diets and water were fed ad libitum up to the end of the experiment, when the animals reached the average weight of 60.2 kg. temperature in the room was kept at 22.0oc and the relative humidity at 82.8%, corresponding to a black globe-humidity index (bghi) of 69.2. reduction of dietary cp level affected body weight gain (wg) of the animals, those animals fed diet with 17% cp showed smaller wg than the animals fed diet with 15 and 14% cp. feed intake (fi) and feed:gain ratio were not affected by treatments. reduction of cp level increased the protein and fat deposition in the carcass and reduced the total nitrogen excretion. the level of crude protein of diet to castrated swines from 30 to 60 kg maintained in a termoneutral environment could be reduced from 17 to 13% with no effect on performance, since diets are supplemented with essential limitant amino acids.

Abstract: a trial was conducted to evaluate the effect of reduced cp, amino acid-supplemented diets on performance of castrated males swines on high environmental temperature (32oc). a total of sixty crossbred piglets (landrace x large white) averaging initial weight of 15.2 kg was allotted to completely randomized experimental design with five treatments (18, 17, 16, 15, and 14% of cp), six replications and two animals per experimental unit. the experimental diets were fed to swine ad libitum until the end of the experiment, when the animals averaged 29.9 kg. the average temperature in the room was maintained in 32.3oc, with relative humidity of 75.9%, corresponding a black globe-humidity index (bghi) of 82.6. the reduced cp level, amino acid-supplemented-based diets did not affect the evaluated parameters (feed intake, weight gain and feed:gain ratio). no treatment effect on digestible lysine and energy intakes was observed. gradual reduction on daily nitrogen intake was observed. decreasing dietary cp levels affected only fat deposition rate. the highest values of relative and absolute weights of liver and stomach and the relative weight of kidneys were observed in the animals fed diets with the highest dietary cp level. it was concluded that the dietary cp level can be reduced from 18 to 14% for castrated piglets from 15 to 30 kg on high environmental temperature, with no effect on performance, since diets are supplemented with the essential amino acids.

Abstract: Um experimento foi conduzido para avaliar a influência da redu o da proteína bruta (PB) e suplementa o de aminoácidos sintéticos sobre o desempenho de suínos machos castrados mantidos em ambiente termoneutro (22masculineC). Foram utilizados 60 leit es mesti os (Landrace x Large White) com peso médio inicial de 15,0 kg e idade média de 53,1 dias, em delineamento inteiramente ao acaso, com cinco tratamentos (18, 17, 16, 15 e 14% PB), seis repeti es e dois animais por unidade experimental. As ra es experimentais foram fornecidas à vontade até o final do experimento, quando os animais atingiram o peso médio de 30,2 kg. A temperatura média no interior da sala foi mantida em 22masculineC, com umidade relativa de 82,3%. O índice de Temperatura de Globo e Umidade calculado no período foi de 69,6. N o se observou efeito da redu o do nível de proteína bruta da ra o sobre as variáveis de desempenho (consumo de ra o, ganho de peso e convers o alimentar). As taxas de deposi o de proteína e gordura também n o foram influenciadas pela redu o da PB na ra o. Os tratamentos influenciaram os pesos absoluto e relativo do est mago e o peso absoluto do intestino, sendo os maiores valores observados em animais que receberam a ra o com maior nível de proteína bruta. Concluiu-se que o nível de PB da ra o pode ser reduzido de 18 para 14%, sem prejudicar o desempenho de suínos machos dos 15 aos 30 kg mantidos em ambiente termoneutro, desde que devidamente suplementadas com aminoácidos essenciais limitantes.

Abstract: The experiment was carried at the Swine Sector of the Animal Husbandry and Animal Nutrition Laboratory of North Rio de Janeiro State University. The objective was to evaluate the performance of swine fed diets containing sugar cane. A total of 40 Large White x Landrace cross bred pigs, 30 kg initial medium weight, were randomly distributed in 20 pens, with two animals in each experimental unit. The treatments were five experimental diets: T1= Controls diet; T2= Controls diet, with replacement of 15% of the diet by sugar cane; T3= Controls diet with correction of P, Ca and lysine levels and replacement of 15% of the diet by sugar cane; T4= Controls diet, with replacement of 30% of the diet by sugar cane; T5= Controls diet with correction of P, Ca and lysine levels and replacement of 30% of the diet by sugar cane. Data on daily fed consumption, daily weight gain, feed conversion and bionutricional index – IBN were evaluated. Pigs fed with sugar cane had higher (P<0,05) daily feed intake and worse feed convertion rate. Pigs that received 15% of the diet with sugar cane had higher (P<0,05) daily weight gain in relation to those fed with 30%. However, the inclusion of 30% of sugar cane resulted in larger economic efficiency, indicating the viability of sugar cane utilization. O experimento foi conduzido na Unidade de Apoio à Pesquisa do Laboratório de Zootecnia e Nutri o Animal da Universidade Estadual do Norte Fluminense. O objetivo foi avaliar o desempenho de suínos em crescimento, consumindo cana-de-a úcar como parte da sua alimenta o. Foram utilizados 40 leit es mesti os (Large White X Landrace), com peso médio inicial de 30 kg, distribuídos aleatoriamente em 20 baias, com 2 animais por unidade experimental. Os tratamentos consistiram em 5 ra es experimentais: T1= Ra o controle; T2 = Ra o controle, com substitui o da oferta em 15% por cana-de-a úcar; T3 = Ra o controle com níveis de P, Ca e lisina corrigidos, com substitui o da oferta em 15% por cana-de-a úcar; T4 = Ra o controle, com substitui o da oferta em 30% por cana-de-a úcar; T5 = Ra o controle com níveis de P, Ca e lisina corrigidos, com substitui o da oferta em 30% por cana-de-a úcar. Foram avaliados o consumo de ra o diário, o ganho de peso diário, a convers o alimentar, o índice bionutricional –IBN e realizada a análise econ mica das ra es. Abstract: Quatrocentos e cinqüenta pintos de corte machos, Avian Farms, com peso médio de 48±0,3 g, foram utilizados em um experimento conduzido em camaras climáticas, para avaliar o efeito dos níveis de energia metabolizável (2850, 2925, 3000, 3075 e 3150 kcal de EM/kg), entre 1 e 21 dias de idade, mantidos em ambiente de alta temperatura (34oC e 60% UR). O delineamento utilizado foi o inteiramente casualizado, com cinco tratamentos, nove repeti es e dez aves por unidade experimental. As características estudadas foram desempenho e composi o de carca a, em que a estimativa da exigência de energia metabolizável das aves foi feita por meio de regress o linear ou quadrática, conforme o melhor ajuste. O ganho de peso, o consumo de energia metabolizável e as deposi es de proteína e gordura na carca a aumentaram, enquanto a convers o alimentar dos pintos reduziu de forma linear com os tratamentos. O rendimento de carca a das aves n o foi influenciado pelos níveis de EM da ra o. Os níveis de EM da ra o modificaram a composi o da carca a e aumentaram o peso de gordura abdominal. Os pintos de corte de 1 a 21 dias de idade, mantidos sob alta temperatura, exigem, no mínimo, rela o energia:proteína de 13,6 para melhor desempenho e deposi o de proteína na carca a.

Abstract: Um experimento foi conduzido, objetivando-se avaliar o efeito do balan o eletrolítico (BER) e a redu o da proteína bruta (PB) da ra o sobre a frequência respiratória, temperatura cloacal, concentra es de Na+, K+, Cl- e ácido úrico em frangos de corte. Foram utilizados 800 pintos de corte, machos da linhagem Cobb, alojados em 20 boxes, distribuídos em delineamento inteiramente casualizado com quatro tratamentos, cinco repeti es e 40 aves porunidade experimental. Os tratamentos foram: T1 - ra o basal; T2 - ra o corrigida para BER de 250 mEq kg-1; T3 - ra o com redu o de PB, sem corre o de BER; T4 - ra o com redu o de PB corrigida para BER de 250 mEq kg-1. As condi es ambientais evidenciaram que os animais estavam em estresse por calor. As aves que receberam ra es com corre o do BER apresentaram menores valores (p < 0,05) de frequência respiratória nas fases estudadas, assim como de temperatura cloacal, na fase de sete a 21 dias. N o houve varia o (p > 0,05) da temperatura cloacal no período total. A redu o da PB diminuiu (p < 0,05) a concentra o de sódio no soro. Aos 42 dias houve influência (p < 0,05) da utiliza o do eletrólito sobre a concentra o de sódio. A suplementa o com eletrólitos melhorou a homeostase dos frangos em condi es de estresse por calor. An experiment was carried with the objective of evaluating the effect of diet electrolyte balance (DEB) and crude protein (CP) reduction onrespiratory rate, cloacal temperature and concentrations of Na+, K+, Cl- and uric acid of broiler chickens. Eight-hundred male Cobb broiler chickens were randomly allocated in 20 boxes, with four treatments and five replicates of 40 birds per experimental unity. The treatments were: T1 - basal diet; T2 - diet adjustment until DEB = 250 mEq kg-1; T3 - diet with reduction of CP and without adjustment of DEB; T4 - diet with reduction of CP and adjustment of DEB to 250 mEq kg-1. The thermal environment was not favorable during the experimental period. The birds that received diets with correction of electrolyte balance showed low values (p < 0.05) of respiratory rate in the phases studied, as well as of cloacal temperature in the phase between 7 and 21 days. Results of cloacal temperature in the total period were not affected (p > 0.05). Reduction of crude protein decreased (p < 0.05) the concentration of sodium in the serum. Theuse of electrolyte in the concentration of sodium was influenced (p > 0.05) at 42 days. The supplementation with electrolytes improved homeostasis of the broilers in heat stress conditions.
