Abstract: We have been synthesized various glycosyl triazoles from the reaction between glycosyl azide (1) and terminal alkynes (2a-g). The glycopiranosyl 1,2,3-triazoles (3-9) have been obtained in moderate-to-excellent yields (63-99%) through the copper (I)-catalyst 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction at room temperature using ultrasound irradiation. In addition, preliminary anti-inflammatory tests have been performed in the compounds conjugates with benzoheterocycles (3-7) moieties that shown moderate activity Foram sintetizados vários triazóis glocosídicos a partir da rea o entre glicopiranosil azida (1) e vários alcinos terminais (2a-g).

Abstract: The cultivation of cotton is a relevant socioeconomic activity in the Brazilian agricultural scenario. In the Brazilian Northeast, however, production is limited by low rainfall, requiring water supplementation, a problem for the cotton cultivation practiced in the semi-arid region, due to the presence of saline ions in several water sources, from where the water is used for irrigation. It is necessary to identify cultivars that better tolerate saline stress in order to provide subsidies for their cultivation under such conditions. In this sense, the objective was to evaluate the tolerance of cotton cultivars to salinity. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse, belonging to the Natural Resource Technology Center of the Federal University of Campina Grande, Campus I, Campina Grande, Brazil, in a completely randomized design in a 2 × 5 factorial scheme, with four replications, totaling 40 experimental units (BRS 368 RF and BRS SAFIRA) submitted to five saline levels (1.5, 3.0, 4.5, 6.0 and 7.5 dS·mˉ1). Irrigation with water saline of EC from 1.5 dS·mˉ1 affects adversely the growth of cotton cultivars, causing reductions in plant height, stem diameter, leaf area and number of leaves. Saline stress reduced the levels of the photosynthetic pigments of the cotton plants studied.

Abstract: Aims. To establish a new model of zymosan-induced temporomandibular joint (TMJ) arthritis in the rat and to investigate the role of nitric oxide. Methods. Inflammation was induced by an intra-articular injection of zymosan into the left TMJ. Mechanical hypernociception, cell influx, vascular permeability, myeloperoxidase activity, nitrite levels, and histological changes were measured in TMJ lavages or tissues at selected time points. These parameters were also evaluated after treatment with the nitric oxide synthase (NOS) inhibitors L-NAME or 1400 W. Results. Zymosan-induced TMJ arthritis caused a time-dependent leucocyte migration, plasma extravasation, mechanical hypernociception, and neutrophil accumulation between 4 and 24 h. TMJ immunohistochemical analyses showed increased inducible NOS expression. Treatment with L-NAME or 1400 W inhibited these parameters. Conclusion. Zymosan-induced TMJ arthritis is a reproducible model that may be used to assess both the mechanisms underlying TMJ inflammation and the potential tools for therapies. Nitric oxide may participate in the inflammatory temporomandibular dysfunction mechanisms.

Abstract: the objective of this study was to evaluate gas exchange in the massai grass during establishment and regrowth cycles in a greenhouse, using five nitrogen (n) fertilization levels. a completely randomized split-plot design of five nitrogen levels (0; 150; 300; 450 and 600 mg n?dm-3 of soil) was employed with the n levels as plots, and the cycles (establishment, regrowth 1 and 2) as subplots, evaluated with five replicates. we evaluated leaf transpiration (e), leaf temperature (tfol), leaf photosynthesis rate (a), leaf carbon dioxide concentration (ci), stomatal conductance (gs), photosynthesis/transpiration ratio (a/e), photosynthesis/conductance ratio (a/gs), chlorophyll relative index (cri), and nitrogen sufficiency index (nsi). growth cycles influenced all physiological characteristics, except for nsi. n fertilization levels affected tfol, a, cri and nsi variables, whereas for gs, e, ci, a/e and a/gs it did not occur. a increased from 6.38 to 10.33 μmol?m-2.s-1, at levels 0 and 600 mg n?dm-3 of soil, respectively. gas exchange in the massai grass was favored by nitrogen fertilization, since the cycles amended these characteristics of the grass.

Pesquisa Agropecuária Brasileira , 2000, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-204X2000000500025
Abstract: the objective of this research was to determine changes in properties of a red-yellow podzolic soil, related to the gradual removal of the plow layer through simulated erosion and its effects on survival and growth of mimosa caesalpiniaefolia benth seedlings. in 1990, the experiment was conducted in a greenhouse of the universidade federal do ceará, in fortaleza, ce, brazil, in layers of 0-15, 5-20, 10-25, 15-30, 20-35 and 25-40 cm which were removed from a red-yellow podzolic profile and contained in plastic bags where seeds were planted and seedlings were grown for 85 days. higher values of clay percentage, available water, k and ca contents and of cec at deeper layers did not reduce the negative impact of erosion on the seedlings survival and growth since they were associated with increases of al saturation as well as with significant decreases in ph, organic matter, base saturation and n, p and mg contents in the soil. as depth of the removed layers increased, seedlings survival percentage, seedlings height, root and aerial part dry weights, as well as total dry biomass gradually decreased. compared to the 0-15 cm layer, at 25-40 cm those decreases were 16.8, 66.3, 67.1, 82.0, and 79.6%, respectively.

The trace formulas yield the inverse metric formula
Ronaldo Rodrigues Silva
Physics , 1998,
Abstract: It is a well-known fact that the first and last non-trivial coefficients of the characteristic polynomial of a linear operator are respectively its trace and its determinant. This work shows how to compute recursively all the coefficients as polynomial functions in the traces of successive powers of the operator. With the aid of Cayley-Hamilton's theorem the trace formulas provide a rational formula for the resolvent kernel and an operator-valued null identity for each finite dimension of the underlying vector space. The 4-dimensional resolvent formula allows an algebraic solution of the inverse metric problem in general relativity.
