International Journal of Clinical Medicine (IJCM) , 2018, DOI: 10.4236/ijcm.2018.99056
Abstract: Head and neck cancer (HNCC) is the sixth most common cancer with an incidence of approximately 600,000 cases per year and 300,000 annual deaths worldwide1y2. In Cuba, cancer of the larynx is the fourth cause in incidence, being the fourth cause of cancer death in men. Radiotherapy constitutes an important modality in the control of these tumors and the Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT) is a new advance in this field. With it, it is possible to improve dose distribution, decreasing the dose in adjacent healthy tissues and escalating dose in tumor. In this work we present 33 patients of National Institute of Oncology and Radiobiology in Cuba (INOR), in whom the IMRT was used as a treatment technique with a hypofractionation of the dose. Their response was observed at the end of the treatment and one month later. 56% (19) of the patients had a complete response to treatment at the primary site of the tumor and neck. 10% (3) had no response, progressed. 11 of the patients had no response at the lymph node site at the end of treatment, 8 of these 11 had complete remission one month after radiotherapy ended.

Revista Habanera de Ciencias M??dicas , 2011,
Abstract: the goal of this research was to identify clinic markers as alzheimer's disease (ad) predictors in patients with mild cognitive impairment (mci). a longitudinal study was accomplished including patients ranging from 50 year's olds and older, which were divided in two groups (mci=40 and controls=26). these patients were recruited from memory clinic-based sample at ?dr. carlos j. finlay? hospital in a period that lasted from november/2003 to july/2006. mini mental state exam (mmse) and three subtest of wechsler memory scale were applied to all of them. a 20.5% of patients with mci exhibited conversion to ad. the average time for conversion was 18.12 month. the average age was higher in those that made conversion. educational level was significantly lower in patients with mci that made conversion to alzheimer. family pathological records were found in 75% of converters patients. results of mmse were similar in patients that converted as those that not converted. mean punctuation of wechsler subtest was lower in converters patients. logical memory a, hard associative learning, and total score were distinguished as those with bigger predictive value.

In 1970the same questionnaire wu applíed again to 467 subjects equallydivided by sex, in the ame grade and high schools of the Federal District, following the same procedures. The principIes íntent to predict the differential effects that exposure to massive means of communication over a period of ten years, have upon female high schools students who attend mixed schools and have real social experience with males, in comparison with women in high schools for gírls alone. Also the differential effects· that such exposure have upon girls with "conservative" parents as differentiated from girls that come from more "liberal" households
Abstract: The paper studies the variables considered by Lewin to be important indexes of psychological development: variaty of behavior, organization of behavior, the extension of the life space, the degree of interdependence of behavíor, and the degree of realismo Also the variable related to the rigidity or flexibility of the bounderies between regions is studied in the context of several experiments by Lewin and his sutdents. A parallel can be drawn between Lewin′s theory and the exyperimental analysis of behavior, and both Lewin and Skinner can be considered practical theorists.
