Aplica??o da programa??o dinamica na substitui??o de povoamentos florestais
Silva, Márcio Lopes da;Silva, Rodrigo Firmino da;
Revista árvore , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-67622007000600011
Abstract: this work aims to develop and apply two models of dynamic programming to decide the best option of management of a forest stand along the planning horizon. the models aimed to maximize profit through a relation of recurrence concerning revenues and costs along the years and it was constructed based on a traditional model of replacement equipment. the results of both the models indicate that the best option for most situations is not to cut the young stands, followed by cutting and remodeling or cutting and lead to shooting for the older stands for all the training periods ( f1 through f7). the advantage of using dp, in this in case, is that this tool offers the planner a wider gamma of decision-making alternatives. it was concluded that for a company to maximize forest stand profits, without being concerned about planning horizon or regulated forest, it would have to opt for the traditionally known economic rotation. however, if the company wants to make decisions for a definite horizon planning and later sell the land and the forest, the alternatives are many. thus, the company can opt for cutting immediately or delaying the cut, perform the shootings or remodel. in this case, the dp model developed can present such alternatives and indicate the best options.
Território e Materialidade: wikileaks e o controle do espa o informacional
FIRMINO, Rodrigo
Contemporanea : Revista de Comunica??o e Cultura , 2011,
Abstract: The wikileaks phenomenon has attracted attention from the international media and scholars from the field of network and technology studies, but been rarely approached by geographers, urban planners and architects, or other researchers interested by urban and spatial studies. Almost nothing is written about possible territorial interpretations of this case, or yet about conditions and consequences for space of this geopolitical, journalistic and communicational phenomenon. In this essay, it is proposed a spatial approach, or more specifically a territorial approach, for explaining a paradoxical coexistence between the freedom in which protests, cyberactivism and counter-surveillance spread through the informational space, and the attempts to control (legally) – and so, territorially within the limits of Nation-sates – these “detours” of activities in the Net. Territory as a geographical concept is used in this essay as a variable to help us better understand the linkage between control and informational space, having the wikileaks case as a reference.

Proje??o do estoque de carbono e análise da gera??o de créditos em povoamentos de eucalipto
Silva, Rodrigo Firmino da;Soares, Carlos Pedro Boechat;Jacovine, Laércio Antonio Gon?alves;Silva, Márcio Lopes da;Leite, Helio Garcia;Silva, Gilson Fernandes da;

Abstract: the objectives of this study were to predict volumetric yield and carbon stock in the stems of eucalypt plantation trees, as well as to economically evaluate the inclusion of the reduced emission certificates (recs) in forest projects by quantitative criteria. thus, data from eucalyptus grandis stands, located in guanh?es-minas gerais, were used. based on the volume and carbon equations for the stems of individual trees and for 95 permanent plots, clutter growth and production model (1983) were adjusted for volumetric production and carbon stock projection. after analysis, it was verified that: a) the growth and yield model proposed by clutter (1983) provided technical cutting ages according to the productivity capacity of the stands, both for volumetric yield and carbon stock; b) the technical cutting ages (tcas) were practically the same, considering the volumetric and carbon stocks; c) the economic rotations were greater than the technical cutting age in sites with low and average productivity (s = 20 and s = 26), regardless of the inclusion or not of the cers in the analysis; d) the cers contributed to the economic viability of the forest projects in low productivity sites, considering the budgets for the establishment of the projects; e) in the sensitivity analysis, the item wood price had the greatest influence on the economic viability of the projects. in contrast, the reduced emission certificates (recs) had little influence.

Suplementa??o a pasto: disponibilidade e qualidade x níveis de suplementa??o x desempenho
Silva, Fabiano Ferreira da;Sá, Jacqueline Firmino de;Schio, Alex Resende;ítavo, Luís Carlos Vínhas;Silva, Robério Rodrigues;Mateus, Rodrigo Gon?alves;
Revista Brasileira de Zootecnia , 2009, DOI: 10.1590/S1516-35982009001300037
Abstract: the objective was to evaluate the results of supplementation in the dry season of the year and the possible interference of the forage availability and quality and level of supplementation on performance. the total dm and green dry matter pasture availability deferred for use in the dry season has an average of all experiments of 6,431 kg ha-1 and 2,173 kg ha-1. the brachiaria under grazing in the dry season have high levels of ndf, with an average of 74.50%, high levels of adf, with an average of 44.19%, low levels of cp, with average of 5.59% and low levels of ivdm/o, with an average of 51.36%. in this sense, the diet taken by the animal usually presents higher crude protein and lower levels of ndf. on consumption in grazing, note that the intake reduction is limited by until the level of supplementation of 0.3% of body weight (bw) per day and when the consumption of supplement increases to levels above 0.3% of bw, the consumption of grass is low and that this decrease may be even greater when the supply of supplement is 0.8% of the bw. supplementation of cattle provided larger gains than those receiving only mineral in the dry season. must be guaranteed at least 4,500 kg dm total.ha-1, 1,200 kg.ha-1 of green dry matter, offering 10 to 12% of the bw offorage dm and 6% of dm potentially digestible to ensure selectivity and earnings satisfactory individual without compromising the gain per area. a supplementation in the dry season in brachiaria is biologically feasible for positive effect on weight gain, but the economic viability of the system is location dependent. supplementation levels above 0.8% of the bw should be investigated as alternatives that may avoid possible negative effects on the rumen environment to reduce the expectations of gain, as the fractionation of supplementation.
Identidades culturais urbanas em época de Globaliza??o
Costa, António Firmino da;
Revista Brasileira de Ciências Sociais , 2002, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-69092002000100003
Abstract: the article intends to examine and discuss critically a contemporary paradox: as the current globalization process intensify, the manifestation of cultural identities instead of disappearing tends to be multiplied. the theme is still controversial in the social sciences concerning the facts observed and the interpretation of meanings. the article tries to contribute for the analysis departing from investigations related to identity processes within the current urban enviromnent or related themes. with the support of the discussed cases, the article presents some sistematic theoretical proposals concerning different modalities of constitution and enunciation of urban cultural identities in the globalization context and, more generally, concerning the social dynamics of cultural identity.
