Solu??es ajustadas do FPO via modelo parametrizado
Moyano, Carlos Fabian;Salgado, Roberto de Souza;
Sba: Controle & Automa??o Sociedade Brasileira de Automatica , 2006, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-17592006000200002
Abstract: this work presents a parameterized formulation of the optimal power flow (opf) problem, which aims at avoiding the divergence of the opf iterative process. the objective function of the modified optimisation problem is given by the weighted sum of the original performance index to be optimized with the parameter applied to adjust the demand and/or limits. the proposed methodology provides indication of the potential causes of the non-convergence and the possible actions that could be taken to determine an operational solution. if the originally specified demand can be supplied satisfying the operational limits without load/limits adjustments, the proposed methodology determines the conventional opf solution. numerical results obtained with test systems of 6, 118 and 750 buses illustrate the application of the proposed strategy.

Química Nova , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-40422012000300028
Abstract: a method based on enzymatic activities was developed using three enzymes (glycerokinase, glycerol-3-phosphate oxidase and peroxidase) and colorimetric detection for the determination of glycerol in biodiesel. the enzymatic conversion of glycerol produces h2o2 that is eliminated by the action of peroxidase, an oxygen acceptor and 4- aminoantipirine, producing water and a colored compound, which was analyzed. this method showed good linear correlation coefficient (r = 0.9937) in the concentration range of 4.95 x 10-5 to 3.96 x 10-4% (w/w) and had experimental limits of detection and quantitation of 7.10 x 10-6 and 2.10 x 10-5% (w/w), respectively.
Market Efficiency during the Mexican Banks’ Privatization Announcement  [PDF]
Roberto J. Santillán-Salgado
Modern Economy (ME) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/me.2015.61010
Abstract: During the last years of the decade of the 1980s, the Mexican government reduced its participation as an owner of productive facilities. After privatizing the national railway system, airlines, mining companies, etc., in 1990 it was time to fully privatize the banking industry. Banks had been expropriated eight years before, in September, 1982. However, between 1987 and 1990, fifteen state-owned banks had issued small amounts of stock to the market. So, on May 2nd of 1990, when President Carlos Salinas publicly announced that all government owned banks would soon be fully privatized, several commercial banks were already partially publicly traded. In retrospective, the full-privatization announcement represents a privileged opportunity to test the efficiency of the Mexican stock market at that time. Using Event Study Methodology, this work analyzes how significant was the response of the publicly traded banks’ stock price to the full privatization announcement, and quantifies its wealth-creation effects.
Relativity on Rotated Graph Paper
Roberto B. Salgado
Physics , 2011,
Abstract: We present visual calculations in special relativity using spacetime diagrams drawn on graph paper that has been rotated by 45 degrees. The rotated lines represent lightlike directions in Minkowski spacetime, and the boxes in the grid (called "light-clock diamonds") represent units of measurement modeled on the ticks of an inertial observer's lightclock. We show that many quantitative results can be read off a spacetime diagram by counting boxes, using a minimal amount of algebra. We use the Doppler Effect, in the spirit of the Bondi k-calculus, to motivate the method.
Visualizing proper-time in Special Relativity
Roberto B. Salgado
Physics , 2005,
Abstract: We present a new visualization of the proper-time elapsed along an observer's worldline. By supplementing worldlines with light clocks, the measurement of space-time intervals is reduced to the "counting of ticks." The resulting space-time diagrams are pedagogically attractive because they emphasize the relativistic view that "time is what is measured by an observer's clock."
Some Identities for the Quantum Measure and its Generalizations
Roberto B. Salgado
Physics , 1999, DOI: 10.1142/S0217732302007041
Abstract: After a brief review of classical probability theory (measure theory), we present an observation (due to Sorkin) concerning an aspect of probability in quantum mechanics. Following Sorkin, we introduce a generalized measure theory based on a hierarchy of ``sum-rules.'' The first sum-rule yields classical probability theory, and the second yields a generalized probability theory that includes quantum mechanics as a special case. We present some algebraic relations involving these sum-rules. This may be useful for the study of the higher-order sum-rules and possible generalizations of quantum mechanics. We conclude with some open questions and suggestions for further work.
ESTRéS EN EJECUTIVOS DE MEDIANAS Y GRANDES EMPRESAS MEXICANAS: UN ENFOQUE DE DESARROLLO HUMANO ORGANIZACIONAL
MERCADO SALGADO,PATRICIA; SALGADO MEJíA,ROBERTO;
Estudios Gerenciales , 2008,
Abstract: objective. to identify sources of pressure, individual differences and effects of stress in mexican cio's of enterprises with the pressure management indicator (pmi). method. descriptive research, no experimental design, with 41 participants. it was used a questionnaire integrated with 111 items using likert scale. results. mexican executives work around 53 hours per week and they do not consider it as a source of pressure. however, they consider personal responsibility, daily hassles, recognition and home/work balance as a cause of it. evidence shows that mexican cio's do not pay attention to organizational climate and do not receive social support as a help to cope work stress.
ESTRéS EN EJECUTIVOS DE MEDIANAS Y GRANDES EMPRESAS MEXICANAS: UN ENFOQUE DE DESARROLLO HUMANO ORGANIZACIONAL

Estudios Gerenciales , 2008,
Abstract: Objetivo.
STOCK MARKET WEALTH-EFFECTS DURING PRIVATIZATION INITIAL PUBLIC OFFERS IN CHILE (1984-1989)
SANTILLáN SALGADO,ROBERTO J.;
Estudios Gerenciales , 2010,
Abstract: the aftermarket performance of eleven privatization initial public offers (ipos) in chile during 1984-1989 is studied in this document, and a detailed description of the economic and political conditions that prevailed is provided. in particular, we discuss the operational details of the stock issuing mechanism, complemented with a statistical study on the ipos’ market adjusted returns. while the sample size is limited and does not support a significant external validity, the analysis confirms the presence of aftermarket performance patterns that are very similar to those observed in private and privatization ipos reported elsewhere (aggarwal, leal and hernández, 1993; dewenter and malatesta, 1997; loughran, ritter and rydqvist, 1994; perotti and guney, 1993).
