Abstract: The choice of a supplying spring should consider, not only you factor as distance of the consuming center, readiness of flows, but also the use form and occupation of the soil of a hydrographic basin.The area object of this work, the basin of Ribeir o Serra Azul, when of the planning adopted to that time for choice of the spring, final of the decade of 70, it counted not only with I aid him of countless organs in different spheres of decisions, but in the innovation in preserving the atmosphere as a result of the first external pressures of the agents backers.On this first moment the Company of Sanitation of Minas General- COPASA, gave an important step in the environmental subject in the State of Minas Gerais, promoting the mitigation of the current impacts of the stage of construction of the reservoir and investing inthe preservation of his/her patrimony and spring.

A Process to Support Analysts in Exploring and Selecting Content from Online Forums  [PDF]

Social Networking (SN) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/sn.2014.32011

The public content increasingly available on the Internet, especially in online forums, enables researchers to study society in new ways. However, qualitative analysis of online forums is very time consuming and most content is not related to researchers’ interest. Consequently, analysts face the following problem: how to efficiently explore and select the content to be analyzed? This article introduces a new process to support analysts in solving this problem. This process is based on unsupervised machine learning techniques like hierarchical clustering and term co-occurrence network. A tool that helps to apply the proposed process was created to provide consolidated and structured results. This includes measurements and a content exploration interface.

Práticas educativas e preven??o de HIV/Aids: li??es aprendidas e desafios atuais
Ayres, José Ricardo Carvalho Mesquita;

Abstract: prevention has been a crucial aspect of aids-control programs. enormous progress both in knowledge and techniques in this area has been unable to significantly alter the basic determinants of the infection or the illness processes of substantial groups of people. this essay seeks to systematize the lessons learned in the field of prevention over the epidemic's two decades - taking into account, in particular, the brazilian experience. the implications of these lessons in regard to our prevention strategies are, briefly: a) that we should think about prevention strategies less in terms of "population-based groups" and more in terms of something we can call "intersubjectivity contexts." this means demarcating areas of interaction (social, cultural etc.) that generate vulnerability, articulated with the intersubjective contexts that favor the construction of responses designed to reduce those vulnerabilities; b) the effective substitution of the molding attitude by an emancipatory attitude in our educational practices; c) that we should not focus the policies, programs and actions on risk groups or risk behaviors, but rather on the relationships socially established among the different social subjects and their interdependent and changeable identities.
Imunocitomonitoriza??o em pacientes transplantados cardíacos
Manrique, Ricardo;Carvalho, Eliete C;
Revista Brasileira de Cirurgia Cardiovascular , 1990, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-76381990000100007
Abstract: the immunocytomonitorization technique (cim - cytological and immunologic monitoring) is based on assessment of changes in the subpopulations of lyphocyte and their precursor cells, while under the acute rejection. the method assesses the precocious activation by counting the number of the lymphocytes normal and actives, lymphoblasts and prolymphocytes (here we state in terms of a set of active lymphocytes). the technique was applied to follow-up and control of activity of cellular immunology in nine patients submitted to cardiac transplantation, twenty normal volunteers, and five patients candidates to cardiac transplantation. we also submitted to the cim test, in order to obtain the normal range of lymphocytic activity in the brazilian population. both groups had not antecedents, either infectious or immunological, chronic or acute pictures. ten patients with acute bacteriological or viral infection had been tested as a positive control. in normal individuals, we found 1,8% (+/- 1.088) of active lymphocytes and 3,2% (+/0,49) in candidates for cardiac transplantation. in our experience, values above are indicators of an immunological reactivity related to infection or rejection. out of the 63 tests performed to the cardiac transplanted patients, four of them were positive, three cases related to infectious complications and one was confirmed as a process of acute graft rejection in progress. the mean time for the cim execution was about two hours. the method was successful for the immunological diagnosis in transplanted cardiacs, due to its sensibility, low costs and promptness of results.
Riqueza de formigas (Hymenoptera, Formicidae) epigéicas em povoamentos de Eucalyptus spp. (Myrtaceae) de diferentes idades no Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil
Fonseca, Ricardo Carvalho;Diehl, Elena;
Revista Brasileira de Entomologia , 2004, DOI: 10.1590/S0085-56262004000100016
Abstract: the present study describes the epigaeic ant communities in eucalyptus plantations in sandbank in rio grande do sul state. ant collections were performed in six plantations of eucalyptus grandis hill ex maiden and eucalyptus saligna smith with ages varying between five to 31 years old. a total of 24 areas (four/area) were randomly selected for ant collections. in each one, three transects of 100 m were designed at intervals of 12 m. along each transect, ten pitfall traps with sardine baits were placed, at intervals of 10 m for a 24-hour-period. a total of 21,033 ants were collected, belonging to five subfamilies, 12 tribes, 19 genera and 49 species. according to the jackknife estimator of first order, there was no significant difference between the ant communities richness considering the eucalyptus species (u = 81.500; g.l. = 1; p = 0.582) and the ages of the plantations (u = 2.504; g.l. = 3; p = 0.547). results indicate that richness of ant species are not related to the species of eucalyptus and/or to the age of the forests planted in sandbanks.
A framework to streamline the process of systems modeling
Elias Carvalho,Luciano Andrade,Ricardo Chaim,Ricardo Pietrobon
Physics , 2011,
Abstract: Although simulation represents a major advance in the understanding of problems in complex systems, the field currently does not has standards in place that would guide the reporting of the data underlying each model, the process for model validation. This lack of common platforms significantly decreases the attractiveness of the field in that comparison across models is difficult, and peer evaluation of whether models should be trusted and used in practice is severely limited. This article reports on a series of concepts that could serve as the basis for an initial discussion regarding potential platforms wiht the simulation community. The document covers a proposed platform for research question formulation, literature review, data collection, model analysis, and manuscript writing. Considerations are then made to counter the prediction that raising quality levels would lead to a decreasing rate in expansion for the field.
