ética na escola: (re)acendendo uma polêmica
Oliveira, Renato José de;
Educa??o & Sociedade , 2001, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-73302001000300012
Abstract: considering that ethics at school and the education of students' character have been discussed all over the world, this paper focuses its subject based on three axes. the first one presents some philosophical views on morality and ethics in order to investigate whether or not theoretical distinctions have social impacts. the second axis is related to the foundations of morality and ethics as practical disciplines. the main question is: should general principles legitimate moral/ethical judgments or vice versa? finally the role assumed by school in the ethical/moral education of the citizen is explored. both educational conceptions as those owing to comenius and dewey and the homogenizing pedagogical practices are discussed, as well as the ethical proposals included in the parametros curriculares nacionais (national curricular guidelines)
Oliveira, Renato José de;
Educa??o e Pesquisa , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S1517-97022011005000005
Abstract: this article discusses the work on ethics in school (primary and secondary education) with basis on a critique of the model of demonstrative rationality, prevalent since the advent of modernity. alternatively, it presents another model, the argumentative rationality one, which is discussed with basis on the approaches taken by cha?m perelman, lucie olbrechts-tyteca and michel meyer. the first two authors have formulated a theory of argumentation whose goal is to support the typical reasoning of human and social sciences, knowledge areas in which typical procedures of demonstrative rationality, such as deduction and calculation do not apply. meyer stresses the problematizing nature of argumentative rationality, placing the rhetoric as a means of negotiating the distance between individuals in regard to certain issues. this theoretical framework is complemented by the philosophy of pluralism appointed by perelman as a counterpoint to the worldviews grounded on unitary conceptions of truth, called monisms. in this theoretical framework, i discuss the universalistic ethical concept of kant and the relativism proposed by the ethics of aesthetics defended by maffesoli. in a second topic, ethics in school education is problematized in view of the question: how can one shape the character of the student without falling into some sort of indoctrination? to the extent that ethics and morality relate to this question, i discuss how the two terms have been understood and i propose to regard them as interchangeable instances. the conclusions i present based on these discussions aim not to solve the problems inherent in the habits and attitudes of students, but to contribute to teachers' reflection about their teaching practices.
ética na escola: (re)acendendo uma polêmica
Oliveira Renato José de
Educa??o & Sociedade , 2001,
Deterritorialization and localization of universities. In search of a conceptual framework for planning higher education, taking into account regional development
Renato de Oliveira
Revista de Universidad y Sociedad del Conocimiento , 2007,
Abstract: Economical globalisation has changed the relationship between universities and economic development strategies. The various forms of direct cooperation between universities and organisations from the productive sector alter the internal profile of universities, forcing them to provide solutions that must be increasingly suited to the existing social demands.This situation opens new perspectives so that universities commit to the designing of regional development strategies. However, the many experiences underway reveal the need to overcome major obstacles so that this new role may be performed, thereby avoiding a situation in which these institutions succumb to the authoritarian tendencies represented by the financing of the economy on a global scale.

It was concluded thatthe main problem found was the pruning made without technical criterion and that there are squares with 1 singlespecies.
Strategies for Achieving Sustainable Logging Rate in the Brazilian Amazon Forest  [PDF]
Evaldo Mu?oz Braz, Patricia Povoa de Mattos, Mariana Ferraz Oliveira, Renato Olivir Basso
Open Journal of Forestry (OJF) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/ojf.2014.42015
Abstract:

Data of increment of the remnant trees after logging, ingrowth and mortality was obtained by assessment before logging and after 6 years, two sites of 50 ha, in Amazon forest. Logging scenarios were simulated to identify the logging rate potential for each studying site, by diameter class projection method. The cycle of 35 years and the logging rate of 30 m3.ha-1 exceed the time required for recovery in the primary forest, in the studied site. The simulation showed that in the studying area, a well-planned logging, with minimum logging damage would be possible to implement an initial cycle of 25 years to the forest to recover 30 m3.ha-1, if 50% of the timber stock were reserved. The forest increment, beyond important factors such as the increase of individual species, is quite dependent on the remnant trees.

An Assessment of the Altimetric Information Derived from Spaceborne SAR (RADARSAT-1, SRTM3) and Optical (ASTER) Data for Cartographic Application in the Amazon Region
Cleber Gonzales De Oliveira,Waldir Renato Paradella
Sensors , 2008, DOI: 10.3390/s8063819
Abstract: Difficulties in acquiring a complete aerial photography coverage on a regular basis in the Brazilian Amazon due to adverse environmental conditions affect the quality of the national topographic database. As a consequence, topographic information is still poor, and when available needs to be up-dated or re-mapped. In this research, altimetric information derived from RADARSAT-1 (Fine and Standard modes), SRTM3 (3 arcseconds) and ASTER (band 3N-3B) was evaluated for topographic mapping in two sites located in the region: Serra dos Carajás (mountainous relief) and Tapajós National Forest (flat terrain). The quality of the information produced from Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) was evaluated regarding field altimetric measurements. Precise topographic field information acquired from Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS) was used as Ground Control Points (GCPs) for the modeling of the stereoscopic DEMs (RADARSAT- 1, ASTER) and as Independent Check Points (ICPs) for the calculation of accuracies of the products. The accuracies were estimated by comparison of the DEMs values and real elevation values given by ICPs. The analysis was performed following two approaches: (1) the use of Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) for the overall classification of the DEMs considering the Brazilian Map Accuracy Standards (PEC) limits and, (2) calculations of trend analysis and accuracy based on a methodology that takes into account computed discrepancies and standard deviations. The investigation has shown that for flat relief, the altimetric accuracy of SRTM3 and Fine RADARSAT-1 DEMs fulfilled the PEC requirements for 1:100,000 A Class Map. However, for mountainous terrain, only the altimetry of SRTM3 and ASTER fulfilled these requirements. In addition, the performance of ASTER was slightly superior to SRTM3. However it is important to consider the difficulties in the acquisition of good stereo-pairs with optical data in the Amazon and the additional cost (GCPs) to produce ASTER DEMs. Despite showing systematic errors, the findings justify the usage of SRTM3 as a primary elevation source for semi-detailed topographic mapping in the region. It is suggested a combination of altimetry derived for SRTM3 and planimetry extracted from high-resolution SAR (ALOS/PALSAR, TerraSARX, RADARSAT-2) or if available optical data for semi-detailed topographic mapping programs in the Brazilian Amazon, where terrain information is seldom available or presents low quality.
O gerente de projetos de TI em organiza es com níveis de maturidade diferenciados The IT project manager in organizations with differentiated levels of maturity
Renato de Oliveira Moraes,Isak Kruglianskas
Produ??o , 2012,
The project management literature recognizes the importance of the project manager in the performance of projects. This article presents the results of a survey on the relation between IT project managers and project performance. The results showed that the relation of the project manager with projects performance is modified according to the level of project management maturity of the organization. In lower maturity level organizations, the relation between the project manager's profile and projects performance is stronger. This suggests that organizations that encourage project management maturity create conditions for their projects performances to be less dependent on the individual actions of project managers.

The modifications that were promoted by the globalization and by the transition from the industrial age to the knowledge age made the institutions migrate from a classical administration model to a modern business management concept which has the strategic search for partnership between the organizations and its stakeholders as one of the most important perspectives. The school is into the center of all the changes that happen in society, since it influences and is influenced by the society. Moreover, the school is also an organization, so it has its administrative process influenced by the new administration tendencies. In this way, the school management has tended to a democratic-participative model of conduction of the administrative-pedagogic process, which is understood as the most suitable to attend the necessities and challenges of thecurrent school. Into this context, this paper was elaborated from specialized bibliographic review and it analyzes how the participative management model forms a web interaction between the participants of the school community, which is composed by the diverse internal and external stakeholders, with positive results to the educational process.
