International Archives of Otorhinolaryngology , 2013,
Abstract: Introduction: The effects of voiced vibration technique can be assessed by laryngeal imaging. Kymographic images derived from high-speed videoendoscopy allow actual visualization of vocal folds vibration. Purpose: The aim of this study is to identify the immediate effects of the voiced vibration technique in healthy vocal folds using high-speed digital laryngeal imaging. Methods: Samples were obtained from 15 healthy subjects with no history of voice disorders (6 men and 9 women aged 21 to 43 years). High-speed videoendoscopy recordings were performed before and after the voiced vibration technique. Kymographic images were obtained using high-speed videoendoscopy. The vocal folds were examined in their open and closed positions and the characteristics of the opening and closing phases were determined. A customize computational routine was used quantify these parameters. The closing, opening, and speed quotients were also calculated. Results: In this study, women displayed statistically significant differences in opened phase (P= 0.05*), closed phase (P= 0.046*), and closing phase (P= 0.026*) phase characteristics. Men displayed the highest difference rate in opening time characteristics (P= 0.06). The closing and opening quotients for the female group showed significant differences (P= 0.029* and P= 0.049*, respectively). The speed quotient exhibited statistically significant differences in the male group (P= 0.048*). Conclusion: The kymographic images indicated that the immediate effect of the voiced vibration technique was smooth contact in healthy vocal fold vibration.

Texto & Contexto - Enfermagem , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-07072010000300019
Abstract: this study aimed to identify contributions of winnicott's theoretical approach to nursing care. it is a reflexive study that highlights the concepts of holding, facilitating environment, and transitional space. it establishes interface with health care, relevant for nursing care comprehension. nursing care is approached in the perspective of "good enough" practices, requiring the establishment of arenas for mutual contact, support, protection, and facilitating environment. winnicott concepts add new values to nursing care, enabling a conceptual vitality for care in a comprehensive perspective.
Technical attainment, practical success and practical knowledge: hermeneutical bases for child nursing care
Mello, Débora Falleiros de;Lima, Regina Aparecida Garcia de;
Revista Latino-Americana de Enfermagem , 2009, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-11692009000400022
Abstract: this reflective study aimed to present some aspects of the concepts technical attainment, practical success and practical knowledge, with a view to a broader understanding of child nursing care. health care is considered in the perspective of reconstructive practices, characterized as contingencies, highlighting the importance of the connection between technical attainment and practical success and the valuation of practical knowledge, based on philosophical hermeneutics, in the context of practical philosophy. child health nursing can deal with technical attainment and practical success jointly, and also understand practical knowledge in the longitudinality of care. health promotion, disease prevention, recovery and rehabilitation of child health should be indissociably associated with contextualized realities, shared between professionals and families, aiming to follow the child's growth and development, produce narratives, identify experiences, choices and decision making to broaden health care.

Gilbert, Maria José;Mello, Débora Falleiros de;Lima, Regina Aparecida Garcia de;
Escola Anna Nery , 2009, DOI: 10.1590/S1414-81452009000400015
Abstract: this study aimed to know the experiences of mothers of daughters with hirschsprung disease attended at a school-hospital in the interior of the state of s?o paulo. this descriptive and exploratory study adopted a qualitative methodological approach, with semi-structured interviews with 13 mothers of children and adolescents with hirschsprung disease. data taken from the interviews were grouped in two themes: knowing the disease and care experience. involvement of parents in care to children in situations of disease has been a big challenge for health professionals. to have success in this intervention, technical and interpersonal ability from both parents and health professionals is needed. results enabled the identification of aspects that need intervention by the health team, specially nursing, aiming a better quality of life for children and adolescents with hirschsprung disease and their families.

Mello, Débora Falleiros de;Lima, Regina Aparecida Garcia de;Scochi, Carmen Gracinda Silvan;
Revista Latino-Americana de Enfermagem , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-11692007000700017
Abstract: this study aimed to identify how child care is delivered to children under two in their daily routine. based on a qualitative approach, the study addresses the care site in the child care, through non-structured interviews with mothers and professionals from two health units in peripheral areas of ribeir?o preto, sp, brazil. results point aspects of how professionals view the mothers and their families, how the child's health, the routine and eventuality of care are followed. adherence is important in the child's follow up, the longitudinality of care and, mainly, the concern with the mothers' and families' values. child care in primary health care has a contingency character; it must deal with eventuality, uncertainty and events linked to experiences, integrating practical and technical knowledge.

Remedi, Patrícia Pereira;Mello, Débora Faleiros de;Menossi, Maria José;Lima, Regina Aparecida Garcia de;
Revista Brasileira de Enfermagem , 2009, DOI: 10.1590/S0034-71672009000100016
Abstract: providing care to adolescents with cancer in the process of death and dying has been a great challenge for health professionals. this challenge is marked by a high emotional burden and specificities of this stage of human development. the purpose of the present study was to review the scientific literature regarding palliative care to adolescents with cancer. this study is a literature review, which data collection was performed using lilacs, medline, and psycinfo, in addition to non-systematic databases. an analysis of the manuscripts revealed three themes: adolescence and its different definitions; the particularities of adolescents with cancer; and palliative care to adolescents with cancer. the study showed there is a scarcity of evidenced-based research defining the panorama of symptoms affecting the quality of life during palliative care and an absence of specific programs in the stage of fast changes that, alone, demand for adaptive efforts.
