Abstract: this study reports on an ethnographic investigation about the interaction between a teacher and her very young learners (vyl) in the english as a foreign language (fl) classroom. in order to carry out this investigation, data were collected in a private kindergarten school, by means of video recordings of classes and field notes from the teacher and from an observer. as ellis (1997) states as caretakers tend to modify the way they speak to children when these ones are learning the mother language, so teachers do modify their speech when communicating with learners. the results of this study may contribute to make teachers of vyl aware of the role of teachers' discourse as a facilitator of understanding in interactions in the fl classroom.

This paper analyzes FUNDEB’s (Fund of Maintenance and Development of Basic Education and Valorization of the Education Professionals) formulation and implementation process in order to evaluate the advancements and limits of this policy in Brazil's basic education funding. In order to do that, we analyzed FUNDEB'S legislative process for approval, its regulating legislation, as well as funding and enrollment data for the period 2007-2010. The methods of analysis were qualitative. The discussion was divided into two parts, in the first moment we typified FUNDEB's formulation process in order to comprehend the debate about the reformulation of the basic education funding policy that has arisen with FUNDEB. Then, we analyzed funding and educational data to assess FUNDEB's first results on Brazilian states and municipalities. It was concluded that, with FUNDEB, there is a r

Abstract: The metaiodobenzylguanidine (MIBG) radiopharmaceutical, an analogue of norepinephrine, has been used to diagnose certain diseases in the cardiovascular system when radiolabeled with 123I. This radiopharmaceutical can also be used to treat tumors, such as neuroblastomas and pheochromocytomas, when radiolabeled with 131I. Its clinical use is often accompanied by a slow intravenous administration, where a significant dose of radiation can directly affect workers in nuclear medicine services. To overcome this problem, the incorporation and controlled release of radiopharmaceuticals from the matrix of mesoporous systems based on silica, such as SBA-15 and hybrid [SBA-15/P(N-iPAAm)], can lead to a significant reduction in radiation doses received by workers. In the present study, silica matrices SBA-15 and hybrid [SBA-15/P(N-iPAAm)] containing the radiopharmaceutical MIBG were prepared and physicochemically characterized through FTIR, SEM, and small angle X-ray diffraction techniques. The release profiles of MIBG from SBA-15 and [SBA-15/P(N-iPAAm)] were studied in a simulated body fluid (SBF) to evaluate their potential application as vehicles for controlled releases. Furthermore, in vitro studies were performed to assess the cytotoxicity of matrices as compared to human lung fibroblast cells (MRC-5). The results revealed that the amount of MIBG incorporated within the studied matrices was indeed quite different, showing that only the hybrid [SBA-15/P(N-iPAAm)] system allowed for a more adequate release profile of MIGB. Taking all results into consideration, it can be concluded that the hybrid matrix [SBA-15/P(N-iPAAm)] can be considered a potential alternative material for the controlled release delivery of radio-pharmaceuticals.

Abstract: the confirmation that bacillus cereus is a microorganism that represents a special problem in food processing plants, such as university cafeterias, inspired this work, the scope of which was to evaluate the risks consumers are exposed to by identifying the contamination points from whence the microorganism can be transferred on to food. the presence of b. cereus was detected in 38.3% of the equipment and utensils studied. counts of up to 5.7x10 2 cfu/cm2 were found, with the highest values being found in samples from distribution sectors, indicating the importance of these areas as potential sources of microorganism transmission on to food.

Open Journal of Blood Diseases (OJBD) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/ojbd.2015.51002
Abstract: Primary liver lymphoma is extremely rare, in most of cases it is a B cell lymphoma. Usually the diagnosis is made in middle-aged individuals and most of them have a relatively short life expectancy. In this article, the authors present a case report of a 75-year-old woman with symptoms of three weeks of evolution of diffuse abdominal pain, asthenia and anorexia. The analysis showed cyto cholestasis and the radiological image with lush hepatomegaly because of a large hepatic mass. The patient started chemotherapy and actually is well twenty months after the end of the chemotherapy.

Revista Brasileira em Promo??o da Saúde , 2011,
Abstract: Objective: To verify the theoretical construction of the terms “social participation” and “social control” relating them to the process of construction of democracy in Brazilian health. Methods: A bibliographic survey conducted in Lilacs and Scielo databases in the period of 2002 to 2009, using the following descriptors: Unified Health System (SUS), Participation and Social Control, Health Policy. Results: The post-1988 Constitution period brought the democratization and decentralization of social policy making room for countless experiences of popular participation. The SUS was created to meet the demands of the population in face of that historic moment. But today, more than twenty years of its creation, the lack of understanding of its guiding principles by health professionals and the population consists in a challenge to its effectiveness. Conclusions: Despite the institutionalization of participation, a culture of non-participation and the lack of knowledge of its instruments are significant barriers to the practice of social participation in health, which represents a complex work that needs to be developed with active Citizen-State relationship.
