Open Journal of Rheumatology and Autoimmune Diseases (OJRA) , 2019, DOI: 10.4236/ojra.2019.91002
Abstract: Background: The 6-minute walk test (6TC) was initially used as an instrument for assessing physical and cardiorespiratory capacity, but is currently being used to monitor treatments, and compare physical interventions and prognostic evaluation. Although already recognized as a research method in several specialties, 6TC has not been used in rheumatology. Patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) may have impaired functional capacity as well as increased cardiovascular mortality. An adequate functional evaluation of these patients is necessary and the 6TC may be useful in this sense. Objective: The aim of this study was to perform the 6-minute walk test in RA patients and to compare the performance with a control group. Method: A cross-sectional study was carried out in which the sample consisted of 85 women, 46 patients with rheumatoid arthritis and 39 healthy controls. A descriptive analysis of the data was performed. One-Way ANOVA methodology was used to compare the patient and control groups followed by the graphic analysis. Results: The distance walked on the 6TC by RA patients was on average 522.2 meters. In the distance control group found in the 6TC was on average 628.8 meters, the difference being statistically significant. Conclusion: In this study the distance covered in 6TC by women with RA was lower than that of healthy women of the same age.

RGO : Revista Gaúcha de Odontologia , 2010,
Abstract: Dementia is classified as a mental disorder of a neurodegenerative nature that affects the Central Nervous System. Alzheimer’s disease is the most prevalent form of dementia that affects elderly people and it is defined as a progressive and persistent loss of multiple areas of intellectual functions. It gradually promotes deterioration in memory, learning, orientation, emotional stability and ability to communicate. Moreover, abstract thinking (paranoia and hallucinations) and the decline of personal care such as bathing and performing oral hygiene are common, interfering in the individual’s social and daily life. According to its development, Alzheimer’s disease is divided into three distinct stages: initial, intermediate and terminal stage. The aim of this study was to approach the characteristics and suggest guidelines for dental attendance in the representative stages in the development of this dementia condition. The dentist should be aware of the different stages of this disease and its characteristics to provide patients with individual oral health attention. The participation of caregivers, family, and the health team is fundamental and it is also necessary to maintain oral health of these elderly patients.
Influência do ácido giberélico na degrada??o do amido durante o amadurecimento da banana

Abstract: the gibberellic acid (ga3) has been studied with particular interest in the posharvest, therefore it improves the quality and it delay the senescence of the fruits through a complex mechanism of signaling, linked to the activity of responsible enzymes for the process of the ripening. this phytohormone, when applied exogenous, it plays an important role in the delay of the activity of enzymes, especially of the cellular wall, in the synthesis of carotene, degradation of chlorophyll and in mangoes the ga3 was responsible for decrease the activity of amylases and peroxidases. the banana, climacteric fruit, have as main power plant the starch. the starch of banana, depending of the variety, is reduced during the climaterium of value that vary of 12 the 20% to less than 1%, when the fruit is ripened, and the sacharose can increase up to 12 fold, in this time. in hydrolysis of the starch, the amylases seems to play a basic role in the beginning of this degradation, therefore it is given credit that only endoamylases is capable to attack entire granules, supplying substratum performance of other enzymes until the formation of sugars. the aim of this employment was to evaluate the effect of the giberelin a3 in the ripening of the banana, focusing the degradation of the starch. it was observed that the infiltrated phytohormone did not be under influence of the respiratory climacteric, however delayed the degradation of the starch and the accumulation of soluble sugars in at least two days and the peak of total activity of amylases also it was been slow.
Tromboembolismo pulmonar masivo de alto riesgo asociado a foramen oval permeable High-risk massive pulmonary thromboembolism associated with patent foramen ovale

Medicina (Buenos Aires) , 2012,
High mortality rate associated with massive pulmonary embolism requires an aggressive invasive approach including surgical pulmonary embolectomy when thrombolytic therapy has failed or is contraindicated. We describe a case of high-risk massive pulmonary embolism who underwent surgical treatment due to the presence of a mobile intracardiac clot in a patent foramen ovale, and the possible risk of paradoxical arterial embolism.

Revista de Enfermagem UFPE On Line , 2010,
Abstract: Objective: to analyze the articles published in scientific journals of public health in the period 1998 to 2008, on work accidents in Brazil. Methodology: this is about a literature review study, exploratory and descriptive, about the Brazilian systematized production in epidemiology on the subject, using as descriptor work accidents in Brazil, with data collected from articles published in the online database MedLine. Result: of the 67 articles found, 56 were analyzed. Public Health Area had the greatest number of published articles. A higher frequency of publication was observed between 1999 and 2003 with seven items each year. Only one study was population-based, the others involved 11 Brazilian states and that 83.9% of these were conducted in south and southeast. The studies were predominantly cross-sectional. Conclusions: Nowadays, the journals in the health area are having major concern in publications related to work accidents, however there is lack of studies involving databases stocks with a focus on the worker’s health.
A Class of Dilation Integral Equations
J. C. S. de Miranda,A. P. Franco Filho
Journal of Mathematics Research , 2012, DOI: 10.5539/jmr.v4n3p1
Abstract: We present a class of dilation integral equations. The equations in this class depend on a dilation parameter $ainmathbb{R}.$ The existence of non trivial solutions in $L^1(mathbb{R})$ is studied as a function of the dilation parameter. The main result establishes the non existence of these solutions for $|a|<1,$ a necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of solutions with non vanishing integrals in case $|a|>1,$ and sufficient conditions for these equations to have no solutions but the trivial one or to have an infinitude of non trivial solutions in case $|a|=1.$ In all these cases, the dimension of the space of $L^1(mathbb{R})$-solutions is determined. When $|a|>1$ we have succeeded in writing the frequency domain representation of the solutions as convergent infinite products.

Revista do Colégio Brasileiro de Cirurgi?es , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-69912010000600009
Abstract: objective: to describe the experience of male-to-female sex reassignment surgery conducted at the transgenitalization program of the clementino fraga filho university hospital -ufrj. methods: the selection of patients for operation followed the evaluation of a multidisciplinary team, meeting the criteria after two years of follow-up: medical diagnosis of transsexualism, patient over 21 years, no physical characteristics unsuitable for change, support at least one close relative. results: from 1997 to 2004 seventeen patients were followed, fifteen of which had confirmed transsexual condition, one was dismissed for bringing false examinations. of the total of sixteen transsexuals, six operations were performed. the operated patients were in the age range of 25 to 40 years with an average of 31. the surgical procedure was completed without any technical difficulties in all patients. one patient had stenosis of the neo meatus and in another it was necessary to shorten the urethra. conclusion: the technique provides no major difficulties in implementation, but may depend on local conditions and surgeon's creativity. the greatest difficulty is to prepare these patients so that there are neither frustrations, nor too many expectations.
A Map of Update Constraints in Inductive Inference
Timo K?tzing,Raphaela Palenta
Computer Science , 2014,
Abstract: We investigate how different learning restrictions reduce learning power and how the different restrictions relate to one another. We give a complete map for nine different restrictions both for the cases of complete information learning and set-driven learning. This completes the picture for these well-studied \emph{delayable} learning restrictions. A further insight is gained by different characterizations of \emph{conservative} learning in terms of variants of \emph{cautious} learning. Our analyses greatly benefit from general theorems we give, for example showing that learners with exclusively delayable restrictions can always be assumed total.
