China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC); Most Valuable Dream for Pakistan through Economic Integration in the Region but May Not Become True without Upgradation of Physical Infrastructure and Legal System!  [PDF]
Rohimi Shapiee, Rao Qasim Idrees
Beijing Law Review (BLR) , 2017, DOI: 10.4236/blr.2017.84027
Abstract: To achieve the goal of sustainable economic development of Pakistan through logistics arrangements in CPEC, this research paper identifies and analyses benefits of CPEC, and also examines and highlights the legal system of Pakistan and its associated deficiencies in this context. Furthermore, this research paper critically examines the present logistics arrangement between China and Pakistan with reference to trade in services commitments and their impacts on such agreement. Governance, law and policy issues towards achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are also big concerns for Pakistan. This will raise diverse legal and policy issues hence create uncertainty and conflict of laws both domestic and internationally. These issues can be handled and solved through upgrading domestic transport and logistics laws and making them in line with international practice. Furthermore coordination and cooperation between local institutes and agencies is most important initiative to gain maximum benefits. Adoption and accession of international conventions of transport and logistics will also have key role to play for better results from CPEC. The current research is rested on qualitative and socio- legal methods of research whereby the authors opt for a qualitative research design as opposed to a quantitative one. The research design would be the analysis between road transport and logistics investment laws exists in Pakistan and Chinese model of logistics arrangement formulated in CPEC by both countries. This research paper will discuss these in detail. Firstly, China Pakistan bilateral trade relations and impacts on Pakistan economy. Secondly, CPEC transport and logistics investment in physical infrastructure in Pakistan. Thirdly, analysis of current rules and regulations applicable for China Pakistan bilateral trade and logistics arrangements. Fourthly, CPEC investment and future challenges for Pakistan and finally proposed comprehensive logistics investment framework agreement.
Analysis of a Recent Biofilter Model for Toluene Biodegradation  [PDF]
Muhammad Qasim, Zarook Shareefdeen
Advances in Chemical Engineering and Science (ACES) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/aces.2013.31006
Abstract:

This paper investigates and provides a critical analysis of the toluene biofilter model developed by Li and De Visscher. The model simulation results have been reproduced and compared with several sets of experimental data from literature. Three different model variations are considered: model with no substrate inhibition, with substrate inhibition, and with air flow rate modification. A sensitivity analysis has been performed on model to study the effect of important parameters on the removal efficiency. Model limitations and improvements have been highlighted.

FACTORS AFFECTING THE LIFE OF YOUNG FEMALE MEMBERS OF FAMILY IN GUJRAT : A CRITICAL STUDY
Balal Idrees
Academic Research International , 2012,
Abstract: The aim of this study is to compare the family and cultural factors among run away and normal girls. To conduct this research 25 runaway girls from girls living in Darul Aman in Gujrat and 25 normal girls from different colleges and university areas were selected and studied. The result indicates that bettering of the family, affairs before marriages, gender discrimination within family and educational problem is more frequent in the runaway girls than the normal girls.

Abstract: Rheumatoid arthritis may be complicated by venous thrombotic disease with up to 33% of cases being associated with antiphospholipid syndrome [1]. Antiphospholipid antibodies may have precipitated the events in our patient. When the patient's condition deteriorated, we resorted to thrombolytic therapy. There are clear indications for the administration of thromobolytic agents. The most recent recommendations from the American College of Chest Physicians [2] advise its use with evidence of hemodynamic compromise in the absence of contraindications to therapy, ideally via a peripheral vein, and utilizing a regimen with a short infusion time. There is less robust evidence to support the use of thrombolytics for high-risk, normotensive patients assessed to have a low bleeding risk, but outside these conditions, thrombolytics are not recommended. The author declares no competing interests.
LUMP BREAST
MOHAMMAD QASIM
The Professional Medical Journal , 2009,
Abstract: Background: Lump breast is a fairly common presenting complaint for which patient seeks medical advice and becomes anxious about the diagnosis. Fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) for the diagnosis of lump breast has been proved as a simple, rapid and economical Procedure. The present study was done to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of fine lump breast in our set-up compared with open biopsy. Methods: The study was conducted in surgical department of Nishtar Hospital Multan and Frontier Medical College Abbottabad. One hundred female patients with lump breast were selected for the study and their medical history was recorded. The age range was 15- 65 years. All of the patients under went FNAC of the lump breast followed by open biopsy for comparison. Results: The results reveal that this study shows a sensitivity of 87.5% for FNAC to pick malignant lesions and specificity of 82.4% while over all diagnostic accuracy 84%. Conclusions: Fine needle aspiration cytology is safe, easy, cheap and accurate procedure. Its sensitivity and specificity is fairly high and is a good alternative to open biopsy. FNAC should be routinely used and open biopsy should be performed in doubtful cases only.
Intelligent Car System
Qasim Siddique
Annals. Computer Science Series , 2009,
Abstract: In modern life the road safety has becomes the core issue. One single move of a driver can cause horrifying accident. The main goal of intelligent car system is to make communication with other cars on the road. The system is able to control to speed, direction and the distance between the cars the intelligent car system is able to recognize traffic light and is able to take decision according to it. This paper presents a framework of the intelligent car system. I validate several aspect of our system using simulation.
Estimation of Genetic Diversity in Sheep (Ovis aries) using Randomly Amplified Polymorphic DNA
M. Qasim
International Journal of Animal and Veterinary Advances , 2011,
Abstract: Domestic sheep (Ovis aries) belongs to order Artiod actyla. Despite its great economic importance, not much work has been done in Pakistan on breeding and genetics of sheep. Present research was initiated to analyze DNA based genetic diversity in Pakistani breeds of sheep. Total genomic DNA was isolated from blood of Rambouillet, Kaghani and Ramghani breeds. Polymerase Chain Reactions (PCR) were carried out using six Randomly Amplified Polymorphic DNA (RAPD) primers. Amplified fragments ranged in size from 500 bp to 2000 bp. On average, 3 alleles per genotype were amplified. Average genetic distance estimate ranged from 30-100%. Eleven comparisons showed maximum genetic diversity (GD = 100%) while 6 comparisons sowed minimum genetic diversity (GD = 30%) for the loci detected using 6 RAPD primers. Phylogenetic elaboration among the 14 sheep accessions were carried out using dendrogram analysis. The 14 accessions of sheep were grouped into 5 clusters comprising 3 , 3, 3, 3 and 2 accessions, respectively.
