Critérios de constru??o e relato da análise prototípica para representa??es sociais
Wachelke, Joo;Wolter, Rafael;
Psicologia: Teoria e Pesquisa , 2011, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-37722011000400017
Abstract: prototypical analysis is a largely diffused convention of presentation to characterize the structure of a social representation based on free association data. however, occasionaly the results of that analysis do not contain the essential information to guarantee its transparency. the present text aims at systematizing and indicating some of the information that should be present in the description of prototypical analysis results, briefly discussing the pros and cons of some analysis options. for that purpose, a brief introduction of the analysis is made, then moving on to technical considerations and closing the text with an example of an report.
A sociologia económica em Portugal
Peixoto,Joo; Marques,Rafael;
Sociologia, Problemas e Práticas , 2003,
Abstract: at the moment, within sociological reflection, economic sociology is one of the research areas registering the greatest expansion. with this situation in mind, this text attempts to assess the present situation for the subject in portugal. in the first part, references at an institutional level are considered, retrieving the research work that makes explicit use of the economic sociology label or that tries to explore direct links between economics and sociology. subsequently, other closely related study topics are mentioned: industrial sociology, the sociology of labour, the informal economy, the territorial contexts of production and economic elites and the entrepreneurial class, among others.
Biodiesel production by hydroesterification of microalgal biomass using heterogeneous catalyst  [PDF]
Yordanaka Reyes, Gisel Chenard, Donato Aranda, Cristiane Mesquita, Mariana Fortes, Rafael Joo, Leonardo Bacellar
Natural Science (NS) , 2012, DOI: 10.4236/ns.2012.410102
Abstract: This paper assesses the hydroesterification process for the production of Biodiesel from Monoraphidium contortum (MORF-1) microalgae biomass, as it is a sustainable alternative not only economically, but also environmentally and ecologically to replace petroleum diesel fuel. The Biodiesel studied in this work was obtained from fatty acid esterification, a product of microalgae and methanol biomass hydrolysis reaction. CBMM’s (HY-340) niobium oxide powder was used as catalyst. The reactions were carried out in a properly closed autoclave reactor (batch), where the reagents were mixed under constant stirring at 500 rpm for hydrolysis and esterification. The products generated were submitted to gas chromatography and oxidative stability analysis. The hydroesterification process showed itself to be a promising alternative to the conventional biodiesel production process (transesterification) as it favors the use of feedstocks with any acidity and moisture content and may be performed with acid catalyst, which favors high conversions in a small range of time (30 minutes).
Cultura organizacional: generaliza??es improváveis e conceitua??es imprecisas
Alcadipani, Rafael;Crubellate, Joo Marcelo;
Revista de Administra??o de Empresas , 2003, DOI: 10.1590/S0034-75902003000200005
Abstract: based on a post-modernist perspective, this paper problematizes the brazilian academic production on organizational culture. firstly, we present some important aspects of the post-modernist perspective in social theory, focusing on its contribution to the study of organizational culture. then, we briefly present some central ideas developed in papers on brazilian organizational culture published in brazilian journals and conferences′ proceedings during the years 1991 to 2000. based on this theoretical and empirical reference, we finally conclude that most of the studies and researches on brazilian organizational culture, in the context of administrative academic field, do not appropriately consider the plurality and heterogeneity of our country and our organizations.
Warm Inflection
Rafael Cerezo,Joo G. Rosa
Physics , 2012, DOI: 10.1007/JHEP01(2013)024
Abstract: While ubiquitous in supersymmetric and string theory models, inflationary scenarios near an inflection point in the scalar potential generically require a severe fine-tuning of a priori unrelated supersymmetry breaking effects. We show that this can be significantly alleviated by the inclusion of dissipative effects that damp the inflaton's motion and produce a nearly-thermal radiation bath. We focus on the case where the slow-rolling inflaton directly excites heavy virtual modes that then decay into light degrees of freedom, although our main qualitative results should apply in other regimes. Furthermore, our analysis shows that the minimum amount of dissipation required to keep the temperature of the radiation bath above the Hubble rate during inflation is largely independent of the degree of flatness of the potential, although it depends on the field value at the inflection point. We then discuss the relevance of this result to warm inflation model building.

During the industrial fermentation process in the production of fuel ethanol, yeasts are subject to several stressing conditions. The survival and the permanence of strains introduced in the process correlate with the capability of these yeasts in resisting to physical and chemical stresses, as well as their recovering ability to compete with contaminating micro-organisms commonly present in this industrial process. We aim at the selection of Saccharomyces cere visiae strains having this capability and ability. In this sense, cultivations of strains with industrial interest were irradiated with gammas ray at a wide dose interval. Growing curves for the strains were analyzed by means of their relative growth, a new concept here introduced, which allows a better understanding of the growing and recovering processes following radiative stress. It was found that gamma radiation could be used as an alternative method to quantify growing capabilities of S. cerevisiae strains under stressing conditions. It was also shown that this radiological method could be utilized as an additional procedure to select best robust industrial strains. This radiological method simplifies traditional analysis of strain viability, by avoiding the great number of necessary and consecutive fermentation assays.

Salom?o, Rafael de Paiva;Rosa, Nelson de Araújo;
Acta Botanica Brasilica , 1988, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-33061988000300004
Abstract: the quadrant method was applied in dense forest on a sandstone mine in serra pará state. , all living or dead individuals with dbh 10 cm were sampled (one > individual per quadrant). in 104 points (or 416 individuals) sampled, 38 families, 85 genera and 110 species were registered. the families presenting the highest importance value index (vif) were sapotaceae (40,90), leguminosae sensu latu (26,76) and rutaceae (25,82). erisma uncinatum warm, was the species presenting the highest importance value index (15,86); as a group, dead trees presented the second highest index (14,07). the calculated density was 1 065 individuals/ha. the basal area was 28.9057m2 for the 416 sampled individuals, or 74.0502m2/ha. the estimated density as well as the basal area per unit area (ha) were considered extremely high for the region. the structure of the vegetation was also analyzed: the mean diameter was 31,21 cm; the mean heigths of trunks and crowns were 12,4 m and 5,8 m respectively, giving a mean total of 18,2 m. the understory vegetation was also described qualitatively.
