Abstract: this study was conducted to increment the integrated management of triozoida sp. (hemiptera, psylliidae) in guava plants at the s?o francisco river valley. the damage level, weed hosts, selectivity and effect of the thiamethoxam 10gr and 250wg in the control of psylliidae were evaluated. the experiment was carried out in an irrigated area, at petrolina, pernambuco, in a randomized block design with four replications. treatments consisted of: 1) thiamethoxam 10gr applied on soil; 2) thiamethoxam 250wg sprayed weekly; 3) thiamethoxam 10gr applied on soil + thiamethoxam 250wg sprayed weekly; 4; 5; 6) thiamethoxam 250wg sprayed when 10, 20 and 30% of infested branches were reached, respectively; 7; 8; 9) thiamethoxam 10gr applied on soil + thiamethoxam 250wg sprayed when 10, 20 and 30% of infested branches were reached, respectively; and 10) control (no insecticide). the percentage of infested branches in the control treatment differed significantly from the treatments 2 (2.8%), 3 (4.3%), 4 (19.7%), 7 (13.4%), 8 (14.5%) and 9 (15.0%). when thiamethoxam was used, the population reduction of natural enemies ranged from 12.5 to 39.6%, corresponding, in the selective scale, to grades (1 = non offensive (< 25%), 2 = not very toxic (25-50%). number and weight of fruits were similar in all the treatments. fifty one weed species and no host of triozoida sp. were found.

Humanization according to cancer patients with extended hospitalization periods
Natália Tatiani Gonalves Brito,Rachel de Carvalho
Einstein (S?o Paulo) , 2010,
Abstract: Objective: To identify the concept of humanization and raise aspects that contribute towards and that hinder humanization of hospital care, according to the opinion of oncology patients. Methods: This is a descriptive-exploratory survey, with a qualitative-quantitative approach. The sample was made up of 10 patients hospitalized for more than 30 days at the Oncology Unit of Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein, who, after satisfying ethical and legal procedures, were interviewed and answered three questions in reference to humanization in oncology. Results: The factors that contributed more towards humanization were warmth in giving care, friendliness, and smiles, and the factors that hindered it were bad moods, noise, and not being promptly attended. Conclusions: Hospital humanization should be experienced and felt by all those who work at hospital and needs to be reflected in the care offered to the client and his/her family members. These aspects become vital in oncology in order to understand the difficult period the patient is going through during the hospital stay, showing an interest in his/her problems and struggles with an attitude of empathy and cordiality, always acting ethically and with professional responsibility.

Abstract: between june 1982 and february 1983 a survey of the marine molluscs of the channel of s?o sebasti?o, state of s?o paulo, was carried out a total of 195 species were found: 103 gastropods, 87 bivalves, 4 chitons, and 1 scaphopod. 140 species belong to the caribbean fauna, 22 are circumtropical or worldwide in distribution, 13 are endemic to the brazilian coast, and 10 belong to the patagonian fauna. most species (77,6 %) were found in the intertidal zone. 142 species, recorded for the region by other authors and not found in the present survey, are also listed. a reduction in the number of species was also observed comparing the present data (1982-1983) with more recent data from other authors (1987-1989). this situation is probably due to chronic pollution and other environmental impacts.
