Robust Image Registration Based on Mutual Information Measure  [PDF]
Witold Kosiński, Pawe? Michalak, Piotr Gut
Journal of Signal and Information Processing (JSIP) , 2012, DOI: 10.4236/jsip.2012.32023
Abstract: A new implementation of the image registration algorithm based on the mutual information is presented for the case of medical images. The registration is achieved if the maximum of the mutual information is attained. In this maximization process optimal values of five parameters of an affine transformation are searched.
Fregego krytyka dowodu ontologicznego (FREGE'S CRITICISM OF THE ONTOLOGICAL ARGUMENT)
Arkadiusz Gut
Analiza i Egzystencja , 2005,
Abstract: The paper reconstructs Frege's criticism of the ontological argument for the existence of God on the basis of various remarks scattered in his writings. The material is organized in such a way as to: (a) reveal a logical structure of the argument; (b) show and discern various presupposition of a logical, semantical and ontological character; and (c) indicate some essential weaknesses of the ontological argument. It is argued that Frege's critical commentaries on this argument are essentially connected to four solutions, stating that: (1) the difference between a name and a predicate is categorical; (2) the existential judgement possesses a different logical structure than the singular judgement; (3) in the characteristic of concepts marks and properties should be distinguished; (4) the ascription of number contains the statement about a concept. In order to make Frege's argumentation as understandable as possible it is confronted with Kant's criticism of ontological argument. The analysis carried on in the above-described way reveals a number of shortcomings which discredit the ontological argument. For example, the paper shows that the analysis of predication of oneness (Einzigkeit) does not lead to the affirmation of God's existence. Moreover, it shows that in that argument the term God is used in two different semantic roles; that some theses that should constitute the argument's conclusion, are already assumed; and that sense-condition and truth-conditions are not distinguished.Other author's publications:

On global inverse and implicit functions
Olivia Gutú
Mathematics , 2015,
Abstract: Since the Hadamard Theorem, several metric and topological conditions have emerged in the literature to date, yielding global inversion and implicit theorems for functions in different settings. Relevant examples are the mappings between infinite-dimensional Banach-Finsler manifolds, which are the focus of this work. Emphasis is given to the nonlinear Fredholm operators of nonnegative index between Banach spaces. The results are based on good local behavior of $f$ at every $x$, namely: $f$ is a local homeomorphism or $f$ is locally equivalent to a projection. The general structure includes a condition that ensures a global property for the fibres of $f$, ideally, expecting to conclude that $f$ is a global diffeomorphism or equivalent to a global projection. A review of such these results and some relationships between different criteria are shown. Also, in this context, a global version of Graves Theorem is obtained.
El contrato moral del profesor de enfermería con la educación universitaria
Palencia Gutíerrez,Esperanza;
Investigación y Educación en Enfermería , 2008,
Abstract: each era leaves an indelible impression upon education which in turn satisfactorily evolve in order to achieve the effective insertion of man into society. this change, given at the level of university education, conveys a reflection about the moral contract that he the professor acquires and by which he is bound when he is a staff member at a higher education institution. this is not given the appropriate importance due to the fact that it is not a written contract. in this case we will refer to the profound thought that must be given by the professor of practical nursing over those areas of education in which he really establish relationships that unfolds his job such with students, colleagues or workmates, and not only on compliance with the institutional rules that are presented in written documents that must be met as part of the commitments acquired when we accept the teaching role. the professional nurse devoted to teaching has to the bear in mind that the moral contract highlights a pedagogical model that relates to elements that emphasize the development of autonomy, dialogue and dialogical reason dialogical, a balanced lifestyle and to accept and learn to respond to the differences in the real environment. that lets it keep the basic and foremost goal of education on pre-graduate as well as post-graduate studies. the present days professor must keep in mind that there is certain essential criteria in his moral contract that demands of him prescription, impartiality, responsibility and modesty, without leaving aside the reality of each context for action.
Genderidentit ten in Deutschland und der Türkei Gender Identities in Germany and Turkey

querelles-net , 2004,
Gender relations, especially the role of women, stand in the forefront of mutual perceptions of Germans and Turks. This volume of the Koerber-Foundation discusses diverse gender roles in Germany, Turkey and among male and female Turkish migrants in Germany. In contrast to the numerous studies that deal with the situation of Turkish women, this book also examines concepts of masculinity.
Czy mo liwa jest wolno bez wolnej woli? (IS FREEDOM WITHOUT FREE WILL POSSIBLE?)
Przemys?aw Gut
Analiza i Egzystencja , 2008,
Abstract: The main aim of this presents paper is to critically explore the view according to which an understanding and grasping of freedom is possible in the absence of free will. In the first part the author puts forward crucial reasons on which the tendency to postulate freedom of man without free will is based. In the second part the links existing between notions of freedom and knowledge are considered. The third part of this paper deals with the difficulties that the theory of freedom without free will faces in confronted with.
Zagadnienie wolno ci osoby ludzkiej w uj ciu Leibniza (THE PROBLEM OF HUMAN FREEDOM ACCORDING TO LEIBNIZ)
Przemys?aw Gut
Analiza i Egzystencja , 2005,
Abstract: The article concerns the fundamental metaphysical problem of human freedom as it is discussed in Leibniz's philosophy. The essence of it can be expressed as follows: in what way the determinism developed by Leibniz goes along with his doctrine of human freedom in action? The article is divided into two parts. The first part contains analysis of Leibniz's theses encapsulating his determinism and those concerning his concept of freedom. The second part points to some major difficulties resulting from Leibniz's view. Leibniz starts with the conviction that there is no contradiction between the two following theses: 1) at least some human actions are performed freely (i.e. the agent might have done otherwise than in fact he did) ; and 2) each action has a reason which is known beforehand and this is the reason why the action is undertaken rather than not. This view was justified by Leibniz by means of (1) introducing divisions and distinctions between modalities, (2) by laying the stress on teleological determinism, and (3) by arguments in favour of the thesis that the world exists contingently. The analysis carried out in the second part demonstrates that Leibniz's view leads to some difficulties. Two of them are of great significance: a) the relationship between freedom and Inter-World Identity of the agent, and b) seemingly unavoidable link between freedom and indeterminism. Both these problems result from the fact that Leibniz's idea of freedom was based on his strong concept of individuality, and from universal analyticity of truth.Other author's publications:
El contrato moral del profesor de enfermería con la educación universitaria The moral contract established between the professor of practical nursing and college education
Each era leaves an indelible impression upon education which in turn satisfactorily evolve in order to achieve the effective insertion of man into society. This change, given at the level of university education, conveys a reflection about the moral contract that he the professor acquires and by which he is bound when he is a staff member at a higher education institution. Abstract: In some earlier work we have considered extensions of Lai's (1974) law of the single logarithm for delayed sums to a multiindex setting with the same as well as different expansion rates in the various dimensions. A further generalization concerns window sizes that are regularly varying with index 1 (on the line). In the present paper we establish multiindex versions of the latter as well as for some mixtures of expansion rates. In order to keep things within reasonable size we confine ourselves to some special cases for the index set $\mathbb{Z}_+^2$.
