Collective Action in Common Pool Resource Management, Including Heterogeneity of Opportunities and Exit Options  [PDF]
Pilar Useche
Natural Resources (NR) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/nr.2013.48059
Abstract:

The mechanism through which exit options and outside opportunities affect cooperation outcomes has not been well studied in the resource management literature, since a deep analysis of the concepts of exit options and outside opportunitiesis missing. This article analyzes these concepts across the common pool resource management literature, investigates the factors that underlie opting out decisions, and reviews potential ways to operationalize these concepts for empirical analysis. It also explores how the relationship of cooperation and exit options may be influenced by broad economic processes, such as economic integration.

Abstract: how diferent is the social policy of the chilean democratic government as compared with pinochet's government? how much is it possible to conciliate the goals of economic growth and of social equity in a market economy? the aylwin government managed to maintain economic expansion and to increase social expenses. but neither the pure dynamism of the market nor a policy of expanding social expenses have been able to atenuate the dualist and socially regressive character of the welfare model that arose from the neoliberal policies of the authoritarian regime

Calveiro,Pilar;
Cuadernos de antropolog?-a social , 2010,
Abstract: this study is based on foucault's thesis that the analysis of penal practices constitutes an angle for observation of the political anatomy. as consequence, transformations of penal systems under neoliberalism would provide clues to understand some of its political codes. from this perspective, the main characteristics of the current mexican prison system are analyzed, as well as its practices and their effect on individuals subjected to imprisonment. in particular, the impact on bodies and their representation is explored, through material collected in interviews carried out with former prisoners. a comparative analysis is made between prisons of medium and high security, with the hypothesis that although they correspond to different models of state power exercise, they both nevertheless become articulated, configuring a complex and unique system that denotes distinctive features of political power in neoliberal times.

Luces y sombras en los estudios sobre las mujeres y la música
Ramos,Pilar;
Revista musical chilena , 2010, DOI: 10.4067/S0716-27902010000100002
Abstract: the conference "woman and music: an interdisciplinary gaze " offered an occasion to present a report, a balance sheet of the women and music studies, as well as some proposals. i consider as dark sides of feminist musicology certain issues that can be also regarded as challenges for prospective studies in the future: the persistence offender discrimination in musical jobs, the discriminatory burden of the women s music label, the geographic coincidence between the musical canon and the women composers' canon and the feminist abuse produced by sociological reductionism. positive contributions of feminism are of course stronger than its dark sides. they have established a turning point of no return in musicology. i have suggested as avenues of working the interdisciplinary, the imagination and the study of audiences.
