Avalia??o do potencial das imagens quickbird ortorretificadas para o mapeamento das propriedades localizadas na área de expans?o e vazios urbanos
Amorin, Amilton;Camargo, Paulo de Oliveira;Miyashita, Priscila Midori;
Boletim de Ciências Geodésicas , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S1982-21702010000300006
Abstract: the images obtained by the sensor aboard the satellite quickbird provide the applications in many fields due to its high spatial resolution, spectral and temporal and inexpensive to purchase compared to conventional aerial photogrammetry. the supporting points, using the gps navigation along with the programs and async gar2rnx, make post-processing of the observable l1 carrier providing the three-dimensional positioning possible. this paper aims at analysing the positional accuracy provided by the orthorectified quickbird image, for use in pre-registration of properties located in the urban expansion area, as well as in empty urban and that are often not registered physically, affecting the urban realestate cadastre and specially damaging the local territorial planning and management. according to the obtained results, it was possible to map products useful to local governments (city hall) following the standard of cartographic accuracy, fitting into class a for the scale 1:10000, 1:5000 and 1:3000, and class b for the scale 1:2000, and with attractive costs compared to other methods of removal.
Quality of TEC Estimated with Mod_Ion Using GPS and GLONASS Data
Paulo de Oliveira Camargo
Mathematical Problems in Engineering , 2009, DOI: 10.1155/2009/794578
Abstract: One of the largest sources of error in positioning and navigation with GNSS is the ionosphere, and the associated error is directly proportional to the TEC and inversely proportional to the square of the signal frequency that propagates through the ionosphere. The equatorial region, especially in Brazil, is where the highest spatial and temporal value variations of the TEC are seen, and where these various features of the ionosphere, such as the equatorial anomaly and scintillation, can be found. Thus, the development and assessments of ionospheric models are important. In this paper, the quality of the TEC was evaluated, as well as the systematic error in the L1 carrier and the inter-frequency biases of satellites and receivers estimated with the Mod_Ion, observable from GPS and integration with the GLONASS, collected with dual frequency receivers.

Oliveira, Paulo de Salles;
Psicologia USP , 1998, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-65641998000200011
Abstract: this article discusses the peculiar meanings of the development of a popular culture within daily life, originating from the relationship between grandparents and grandchildren in popular classes. based on long interviews and observations, this essay intends to portray how in this daily relationship both subjects change due to reciprocate influences. it is often believed that elderly people cease to change, however, based on the data collected, this concept deserves to be revised. the challenge of caring for children gave back to these elderly individuals a sense of hope which had seemed lost. life changed and so did their habits and forms of thinking. analyzing each small aspect of their daily lives - conversations, stories, advice given, songs, toys, television programs, relationship with animals and nature, we conclude that everything points to new horizons in living.
?Memória e sociedade?: ciência poética e referência de humanismo
Oliveira, Paulo de Salles;
Psicologia USP , 2008, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-65642008000100002
Abstract: the article presents a set of reflections about the book memória e sociedade: lembran?as de velhos, by eclea bosi, a masterpiece of social psychology and human sciences. it tries to point out the original theoretic and methodological approach by bringing out poetry into the scientific construction, redefining the relationship between subject and object of knowledge with the original development of the changing condition between them in the research construction. it also shows how ecléa bosi’s study is based on close bonds between the researcher and the interviewed elderly, in a way to build up a destiny community.

Abstract: This paper analyzes the indeterministic view of the epistemology of Karl Popper. Since the unit understanding of Critical Rationalism, as epistemology and political philosophy at the same time, the article shows in what sense the Popper's proposal reveals an ethical issue of broad scope and interest in contemporary philosophy, particularly in the analysis of the crisis of modern scientism.
Cultura e Co-Educa o de Gera es
Oliveira Paulo de Salles
Psicologia USP , 1998,

Mergers and Acquisitions: An Efficiency Evaluation  [PDF]
Paulo Rotela Junior, Paulo Rotela Junior, Edson de Oliveira Pamplona, Aneirson Francisco da Silva
Applied Mathematics (AM) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/am.2013.411213
Abstract: This article sheds light on how synergies arise through mergers and acquisitions (M&A). Enterprises go through the process of Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) with the goal of improving performance, increasing efficiency and obtaining business synergy. Prior literature suggests that synergies could arise due to taxes, market power or efficiency improvements. This study evaluates the efficiency of M&A in Brazil among publicly-traded companies. We used models with multiple objectives from Goal Programming and Data Envelopment Analysis (GPDEA), employing accounting indicators as input and output variables, and thus evaluated the emergence of synergy gains. These models allow us to analyze and classify the M&A according to the efficiency obtained in such processes. Some of the M&A cases analyzed were mistakenly considered efficient when used traditional models. And, as expected, the GPDEA was proved to be superior to classical models; however it was noticed that few of the cases investigated were proved to be effective. We presented a new application for multi-objective approach that can be used to assess mergers and acquisitions. The dualapplication of GPDEA provided a greater understanding of efficiency generation in synergy creation by means of M&A.
