Decolourization of anthraquinone reactive dye by electrochemical reduction on reticulated glassy carbon electrode
Carneiro, Patricia A.;Boralle, Nivaldo;Stradiotto, Nelson R.;Furlan, Maysa;Zanoni, Maria Valnice B.;
Journal of the Brazilian Chemical Society , 2004, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-50532004000400023
Abstract: the electrochemistry reduction for the removal of reactive blue 4 (rb4) dye from aqueous solution using reticulated glassy carbon electrode is investigated. at ph < 8.0 the anthraquinone group of the rb4 dye are reduced in one cathodic step to hidroquinone after a reversible two-electron process involving a precedent two protons reaction. a stable semiquinone is detected by spectrophotometric technique. at ph > 8.0 the reduction process involves two reversible 2-electron steps, whose species are generated by a protonation equilibrium of anthraquinone group. the results shows that 60% of color removal was obtained after 3 hours of rb4 dye electrolysis at acidic and neutral conditions and only 37% at alkaline conditions. simultaneously 64% of total organic carbon was removed after electrolysis at ph 2.0.

Sphenopalatine meningoencephalocele: a diagnosis and therapeutic challenge

International Archives of Otorhinolaryngology , 2010,
Abstract: Introduction: Encephalocele and myelocele are deformities of easy clinical diagnosis, however, in some cases this diagnosis can be complicated for the clinical signs and complaints' absence. Objective: The present study intends to report the case of a two-year-old patient of the male sex with a trans sphenoidal meningocele without symptomatology associated to discrete alterations in the physical exam and treated through endoscopic transnasal surgery. Case Report: Trans sphenoidal meningocele' surgery treatment in a two-year-old patient, through endoscopic transnasal surgery, using bilateral septal nasal mucosa shred, pedicellate in the sphenopalatine artery. Conclusion: The meningoencephalocele approach, using septal nasal mucosa it is showed a viable and effective option in pediatric patients.
Natureza e economia na teoria freudiana
Furlan, Reinaldo;
Estudos de Psicologia (Natal) , 2000, DOI: 10.1590/S1413-294X2000000100007
Abstract: the aim of this article is first, pointing to the importance of the "strenght" and "nature" notions in freud's work and their implications to the civilization and the morals. in some way, pointing to the importance of biology in the civilization process, even about the prerrogatives of specie as of the individual. and secondly, pointing to the change occurred in these questions with the introduction of the "eros" concept. favoring the presentation of two texts for our purpose: "project of psychology" [1895] and "civilization and its discontents" (1930 [1929]).
A no??o de "comportamento" na Filosofia de Merleau-Ponty
Furlan, Reinaldo;
Estudos de Psicologia (Natal) , 2000, DOI: 10.1590/S1413-294X2000000200005
Abstract: the objetive of the present work is to present the notion of behavior with basis on merleau-ponty's of "the structure of behavior". the notion of structure plays a double role in that work: it allows understanding both the integration and the ruptures between the different order of phenomena (physical, vital and human), as well as apprehending conscience in situation, as the emergence of a sense anterior to the conscience of self and of the world. the passage from vital order to symbolic or human order, and merleau-ponty's criticism to bergson, who would have biologized the phenomenon of human culture, are highlighted.
Uma revis?o/discuss?o sobre a filosofia da ciência
Furlan, Reinaldo;
Paidéia (Ribeir?o Preto) , 2002, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-863X2002000300002
Abstract: the objective of this paper is to stimulate the reflection on the nature of scientific knowledge. the intention is not dogmatic, in the sense of saying what is scientific methodology, rather to present the following points that are the basis for the discussion of its foundation and break up with the apparent certainty of the common sense on the nature of scientific knowledge: (1) the relationship among internal and external science history, (2) the critic to the induction notion, (3) the role of theory in observation, (4) the principle of verification. in that presentation it is privileged the two main theories that polarized the discussions of philosophy of science in the last decades: the theories of popper and kuhn on the scientific methodology foundations.
A quest?o do método na psicologia
Furlan, Reinaldo;
Psicologia em Estudo , 2008, DOI: 10.1590/S1413-73722008000100004
Abstract: the issue of method in psychology is discussed from the standpoint of the thinking experience. analysis shows that no independence exists between method, issue and theory. strictly speaking, there are methodological issues in the act of coping with the knowledge of reality.
Freud, Politzer, Merleau-Ponty
Furlan, Reinaldo;
Psicologia USP , 1999, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-65641999000200009
Abstract: the aim of this article is to introduce the first contrasting ideas of merleau-ponty?s philosophy and the freudian psychoanalysis, along with the presentation of the "critics of psychology fundaments" (g. politzer). politzer criticizes the freudian postulation of psychic division, and the postulation of the semantic of conventional language in the determination of the whole living sense. merleau-ponty uses these critics for a theory of human expression and existence.
Fenomenologia e esquizoanálise na psicologia: um encontro possível?
Furlan, Reinaldo;
Psicologia USP , 2006, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-65642006000300009
Abstract: our intent is to put together two important areas of philosophy &– phenomenology and schizoanalysis &– which exist in the field of psychology as research forms or perspectives. we believe that the critical meeting of these philosophies may be profitable in many ways, from a better understanding of their meanings to a broadening of their usage in the field of psychology.
A no??o de consciência n' A Estrutura do Comportamento (Merleau-Ponty)
Furlan, Reinaldo;
Psicologia USP , 2001, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-65642001000100002
Abstract: the goal of the present paper is to introduce the concept of consciousness in the philosophy of merleau-ponty, based on his "the structure of behavior," in wich he offers an analysis of biology stressing the passage from the biological order to the symbolic or human order. in that work, merleau-ponty strengthens the concept of "structure" as an alternative to the classical metaphysical dichotomy between subject and object (res cogitans e res extensa), trying to understand both the integration and the ruptures between the different orders of phenomena (physical, vital and human). the advantage of the notion of structure would also be the possibility of apprehending consciousness in situation and the emergence of sense anterior to the conscience of self and of the world.
