Codognoto,cia;Zanichelli, Patrícia Graa;Sernaglia, Rosana Lázara;
Journal of the Brazilian Chemical Society , 2005, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-50532005000400020
Abstract: the present paper deals with the reaction of oxidative dimerization of the h[ru(iii)cl2(h2edta)].4.5 h2o complex on the surface of silica gel functionalized (sf) with [3-(2-aminoethyl)aminopropyl]trimethoxysilane (aeats), generating the dimeric (edta)2ru2(iv,iv) complex immobilized on the surface of this silica through the coordination with amide bonds. the oxidation of water by the anchored dimeric complex proceeded rapidly and was observed by the evolution of o2 and the decrease in ph, yielding the sf-aeats/(edta)2ru2(iii1/2 ,iii1/2). this anchored dimer was characterized by electronic, vibrational and epr spectroscopies. the electrochemical behavior of a modified carbon paste electrode prepared with sf-aeats/(edta)2ru2(iii1/2 ,iii1/2) was also studied.

Azevedo, Carlos;Casal, Graa;Mendon?a, Ivete;Carvalho, Erisson;Matos, Patrícia;Matos, Edilson;
Memórias do Instituto Oswaldo Cruz , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S0074-02762010000200016
Abstract: a myxosporean parasite in the gill lamellae of the freshwater teleost fish, sciades herzbergii (ariidae) (block, 1794), from the poti river (northeast of brazil) was described by light and electron microscopy studies. polysporic histozoic cyst-like plasmodia containing several life-cycle stages, including mature spores, were observed. the spores were pyriform and uninucleate, measuring 9.15 ± 0.39 μm (n = 50) long, 4.36 ± 0.23 μm (n = 25) wide and 2.61 ± 0.31 μm (n = 25) thick. elongated pyriform polar capsules (pc) were of equal size (4.44 ± 0.41 μm long and 1.41 ± 0.42 μm in diameter) and each contained a polar filament with 9-10 coils obliquely arranged in relation to the axis of pc. the pc wall was composed of two layers of different electron densities. histological analysis revealed the close contact of the cyst-like plasmodia with the basal portion of the epithelial gill layer, which exhibited some alterations in the capillary vessels. based on the morphological and ultrastructural differences, the similarity of the spore features to those of the genus myxobolus and the specificity of this host to previously described species, we describe a new species named myxobolus sciades n. sp. in this study.

Piliss?o, Cristiane;Carvalho, Patrícia de Oliveira;Nascimento, Maria da Graa;
Journal of the Brazilian Chemical Society , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-50532012005000033
Abstract: the lipases cal-b, psl, psl-c, psl-d, and a. niger lipase, free or immobilized in starch (obtained from two types of yam, known in brazil as “cará” (discorea alata l.) and “inhame” (colocasia esculenta (l.) schott) or gelatin films, were used in the acylation of (rs)-sec-butylamine with different acyl donors in various organic solvents applying conventional heating (ch) or microwave (mw) irradiation. in the case of free a. niger lipase, the conversion degrees were three times higher using mw irradiation when compared to conventional heating at 35 oc. using free a. niger lipase, the (r)-amide was obtained with a conversion degree of 21%, resulting in eep > 99% and e-value (enantioselectivity value) > 200, in 1 min of reaction under mw irradiation. when the a. niger lipase was immobilized in yam starch films, the (r)-amide was obtained in moderate conversions of 8-25% after 3 or 5 min of reaction under mw irradiation, but with higher selectivity (eep > 99% and e > 200) in comparison with the free form (conversion degree of 45%, eep 81% and e value of 18).

Morais, Patrícia Motta de;Cunha, Maria da Graa Souza;Frota, Maria Zeli Moreira;
Anais Brasileiros de Dermatologia , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S0365-05962010000600004
Abstract: background: pityriasis versicolor (tinea versicolor) is a chronic superficial mycosis caused by yeasts of the malassezia spp. genus commensal of the keratinized layers of the skin. under conditions not yet understood, it becomes pathogenic determining the clinical manifestations of the disease. it is a recurrent skin condition and persistent hypopigmentation may remain after treatment, causing social problems to those affected. objective: to describe the clinical and epidemiological features of patients diagnosed with tinea versicolor treated at a referral center for dermatology (alfredo da matta foundation). methods: case-studies in which cutaneous manifestations and epidemiological characteristics of patients diagnosed with tinea versicolor treated at alfredo da matta foundation were detailed. results: one hundred and sixteen patients were included in the study from january to august 2008. most subjects were male, of mixed ethnicity and young age. most were students who were predisposed to the development of macules. the majority had extensive injuries and past history of the disease. conclusion: the results revealed a high proportion of individuals with extensive clinical manifestations and duration of the disease.
A leitura, a produ??o de sentidos e o processo inferencial
Ferreira, Sandra Patrícia Ataíde;Dias, Maria da Graa Bompastor Borges;
Psicologia em Estudo , 2004, DOI: 10.1590/S1413-73722004000300012
Abstract: in texts sense production the reader plays an active role, being the inferences an important cognitive process during this activity. it is believed, therefore, that reading comprehension is not guided, just, by the graphic marks of the text, but, above all, by what those marks have to say and by the way the reader apprehends and interprets the intention passed by the author. it is also believed that this interpretation happens at the reader/author interaction moment, generating senses that vary according to the reader and the nature of such interaction.
A escola e o ensino da leitura
Ferreira, Sandra Patrícia Ataíde;Dias, Maria da Graa Bompastor Borges;
Psicologia em Estudo , 2002, DOI: 10.1590/S1413-73722002000100007
Abstract: the access to the reading process comes as one of the various challenges to school and, perhaps, as the highly regarded and most claimed one by society. in the present article, what is firstly discussed is the need to propose students reading activities in which they can realise the idea that the meaning of the text to be built depends on the objectives and on the reader's questions, as well as on the nature of the text and its macro and super structure. besides, as insisted by solé, it is important and essential those children learn how to use the reading strategies used by the experienced reader, so that they also become efficient and independent readers. then, carrying on with some empirical evidences, comprehension strategies are dealt with as well as the place they occupy in the reading learning process.
Compreens?o de leitura: estratégias de tomar notas e da imagem mental
Ferreira, Sandra Patrícia Ataíde;Dias, Maria da Graa Bompastor Borges;
Psicologia: Teoria e Pesquisa , 2002, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-37722002000100007
Abstract: the aim was to verify and compare the effect of strategies at note-taking and mental image training on reading comprehension among children from eight to 14 years old with difficulty in this area, from public and private schools. firstly, they were classified in groups of little and much comprehension difficulty (dg1 and dg2) and distributed in three groups: two experimental groups (eg1 and eg2) and a control group (cg). then the eg1 performed the activity of taking notes and the eg2, the strategy of the mental image. the cg did not receive any training, but accomplished the same task as the experimental groups. the results demonstrate a performance significantly better of the eg1 than eg2 and cg. it was verified that dg1 progressed more on inferential subjects than dg2. public school children succeeded the most. both strategies caused the emergency of answers to the inferential and literal subjects.

Ferreira, Sandra Patrícia Ataíde;Dias, Maria da Graa B. B.;
Psicologia: Reflex?o e Crítica , 2005, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-79722005000300005
Abstract: the present paper emphasizes reading as an activity of meaning construction which implies the dynamic relationship between reader and text. first we present the idea that reading varies accord to the reader and his aims. the reader can concept it as a cognitive- affective activity and a social practice. later we discuss the text concepts, context and textual types, with the focus in the idea the meaning is constituted in the dialectic relationship among author/text/reader/context. this relationship is which offers many meaning and at the same time, gives limits to the possibilities of the variations and also determines the game of the implicit and the explicit.
