Curvas logoaudiométricas utilizando senten?as como estímulo

Abstract: purpose: to determine the performance-intensity function for sentences in a group of individuals with normal hearing and a group of individuals with sensorineural hearing loss, through the portuguese sentence list test (psl), and compare the results obtained in these groups. methods: the psl test was used to determine voice detection threshold (vdt), recognition sentences in silence threshold (rsst) and maximum percent indexes of sentences recognition in silence (mpisrs), in a group of individuals with normal hearing (group a) and a group of individuals with sensorineural hearing loss (group b). results: group a was made of 30 subjects, 19 female and 11 male, from 18 to 40-year old. in group b, 15 subjects were female and 14 were male, from 23 to 81-year old. in group a, were found average values of 16.47 db for the vdt, 23.77 db for the rsst and 31.23 db for the mpisrs. in group b, were found values of 38.38 db for the vdt, 50.35 db for the rsst and 59.65 db for the mpisrs. the statistical analysis showed statistically significant differences between the groups. conclusion: performance-intensity functions for sentences were obtained with the psl test. the results showed that each 1 db of variation in intensity for sentence presentation represented a change of 6.77% in speech recognition for normal hearing individuals and 4.70% in a group of individuals with hearing loss.

Abstract: OBJETIVO: determinar curvas logoaudiométricas, utilizando o teste Listas de Senten as em Português (LSP), em um grupo de indivíduos normo-ouvintes e um grupo de indivíduos com perda auditiva neurossensorial, e comparar os resultados obtidos nestes grupos. MéTODOS: utilizou-se o teste Listas de Senten as em Português (LSP) para determinar os Limiares de Detec o de Voz (LDV), Limiares de Reconhecimento de Senten as no Silêncio (LRSS), e os índices Percentuais Máximos de Reconhecimento de Senten as no Silêncio (IPMRSS), em um grupo de indivíduos normo-ouvintes (grupo A) e um grupo de indivíduos com perda auditiva neurossensorial (grupo B). RESULTADOS: o grupo A foi composto por 19 indivíduos do sexo feminino e 11 do sexo masculino, com idades entre 18 e 40 anos. No grupo B, 15 indivíduos eram do sexo feminino e 14 eram do sexo masculino, com idades variando entre 23 e 81 anos. Para o grupo A, encontraram-se valores médios de 16,47 dB para o LDV; 23,77 dB para o LRSS e de 31,23 dB para o IPMRSS. Já no grupo B, os valores encontrados foram de 38,38 dB para o LDV; 50,35 dB para o LRSS e 59,65 dB para o IPMRSS. Na análise estatística, encontrou-se diferen a estatisticamente significante entre os grupos. CONCLUS O: foram tra adas as curvas logoaudiométricas para os grupos estudados. Abstract: OBJETIVOS: investigar a melhora no desempenho e na restri o de participa o de usuários de próteses auditivas, após um período de três meses, e verificar se houve correla o entre os resultados obtidos nestes dois aspectos. MéTODOS: analisou-se 13 sujeitos, com perda auditiva do tipo neurossensorial de grau leve a moderadamente severo, com idades entre 28 e 60 anos. Realizou-se a pesquisa dos Limiares e índices Percentuais de Reconhecimento de Senten as no Silêncio e no Ruído (LRSS e LRSR, IPRSS e IPRSR), em campo livre, através do teste Listas de Senten as em Português; e aplicou-se o questionário Hearing Handicap Inventory for Adults (HHIA). A primeira avalia o foi realizada antes da adapta o das próteses auditivas, sem o uso das mesmas, e a segunda, três meses após a adapta o, com o paciente fazendo uso das próteses auditivas. RESULTADOS: a an álise estatística evidenciou melhora significante, tanto em rela o à restri o de participa o (HHIA), quanto no desempenho das avalia es (LRSS, LRSR, IPRSS e IPRSR). Ao correlacionar a melhora na restri o de participa o (HHIA), com a melhora do desempenho nos demais procedimentos, houve correla o significante apenas entre a melhora no HHIA e a melhora no LRSR. CONCLUS O: os usuários avaliados apresentaram sensa o de restri o da participa o diminuída, e melhora significante no desempenho em situa es de reconhecimento de fala, tanto no silêncio quanto no ruído. Houve correla o entre a melhora nas respostas no HHIA e o LRSR, devido ao fato de que as maiores queixas em indivíduos com perda auditiva neurossensorial estarem relacionadas à presen a de ruído competitivo. Abstract: objective: evaluate the proportionate benefit by the sound amplification in children and teenagers attended by the program of hearing health attention by the federal university of santa maria (ufsm). method: participated from these study 63 individuals with age between 3 and 14 years and their family. for the evaluate the benefit proportionate by the sound amplification was applied the infant toddler meaningful auditory integration scale (it-mais), for children with less than 4 years old; the meaningful auditory integration scale (mais), for infants from 4 to 7 years and the questionnaire of evaluation from the benefit in infants and young, for the individuals from 8 to 14 years. results: only one individual could be evaluated through the mais scale, and the average punctuation found in the evaluation of the hearing behaviors was of 19,9. were evaluated 52 individuals through the questionnaire of evaluation of benefit in infants and teenagers, and the positive answers related to the benefit proportionate by the prosthesis in different situations were the most found in all items. conclusions: was verified the benefit proportionate by the sound amplification, in different situations of daily life, such as from the patient's perspective as from his family. in some cases, where were found little or none benefit, there were influence of others clinical alterations, besides the hearing loss, influencing the effective use of the hearing aids.

Abstract: OBJETIVO: avaliar crian as e adolescentes, usuários de próteses auditivas, buscando investigar o benefício proporcionado pela amplifica o sonora por meio do teste Listas de Senten as em Português e do Questionário de avalia o do benefício em crian as e adolescentes, e verificar se existe correla o entre os resultados obtidos por meio dos dois instrumentos de avalia o. MéTODO: estudo retrospectivo, onde foram avaliados 13 sujeitos com idades entre oito e 14 anos, de ambos os sexos, com perda auditiva de no máximo, grau moderadamente severo na melhor orelha, usuários de próteses auditivas bilateralmente há mais de dez meses e protetizados por um Programa de Saúde Auditiva. Foi realizada anamnese, nova avalia o audiológica básica e aplicados o teste Listas de Senten as em Português e o Questionário de Avalia o do Beneficio em crian as e adolescentes. RESULTADOS: os resultados obtidos no Teste de Listas de Senten as em Português e no questionário mostraram que houve benefício com o uso das próteses, tanto no silêncio, quanto no ruído. Entretanto, n o houve correla o estatisticamente significante entre os resultados. CONCLUS O: embora n o tenha sido verificada correla o estatisticamente significante entre os resultados obtidos por meio dos dois instrumentos de avalia o, foi observada melhora no desempenho de reconhecimento de fala fazendo uso das próteses através do teste Listas de Senten as em Português, tanto na avalia o no ruído, quanto no silêncio e, em resposta ao questionário, os avaliados referiram benefício com o uso da amplifica o sonora. Abstract: OBJETIVO: avaliar o desempenho e a satisfa o com o uso das próteses auditivas nos pacientes atendidos no convênio APAC-UFSM, após um ano de adapta o. MéTODOS: analisou-se 49 sujeitos, com perda auditiva do tipo neurossensorial ou mista, de grau leve a severo na melhor orelha, divididos em adultos e idosos. Realizou-se a pesquisa dos Limiares e índices Percentuais de Reconhecimento de Senten as no Silêncio e no Ruído, em campo livre, por meio do teste Listas de Senten as em Português; e aplicou-se o questionário de satisfa o, International Outcome Inventory for Hearing Aids. Realizaram-se os testes na mesma sess o, em dois momentos distintos, sendo o primeiro, sem o uso das próteses auditivas e o segundo, usando as mesmas. RESULTADOS: houve diferen a significante no desempenho dos indivíduos em ambos os grupos, no procedimento realizado no silêncio. Apesar de o desempenho com próteses auditivas n o ter apresentado melhora significante no ruído, os pacientes apresentaram respostas satisfatórias no questionário. Na compara o entre os grupos, n o se observou diferen a significante quanto ao desempenho e satisfa o. CONCLUS O: a melhora significante do desempenho no silêncio vai ao encontro do relato dos pacientes. O questionário evidenciou que a maioria referiu fazer uso efetivo das próteses auditivas e considerou ter um benefício muito satisfatório. Apesar de uma parcela significativa referir moderada ou bastante dificuldade residual, a maioria considerou que o uso das próteses auditivas vale muito ou bastante a pena. PURPOSE: to assess the performance and satisfaction using hearing aids in patients assisted in the APAC-UFSM partnership, after a one-year fitting. METHODS: 49 subjects having mild to severe sensorineural or mixed hearing loss in the better ear were analyzed. They were divided into adults and elderly groups. The research of Sentence Recognition Threshold and Percent Indexes in Quiet and in Noise was carried out in sound field through the Portuguese Sentences Lists test; the satisfaction questionnaire, International Outcome Inventory for Hearing Aids (IOI-HA), was also applied. The tests were carried out in the same session, in two distinctive timeframes: the first one without using hearing aids, and the second one using hearing aids. RESULTS: there was a meaningful difference in both groups regarding the procedure carried out in silence. Abstract: purpose: to investigate the existent correlation among pure tone thresholds and sentence recognition thresholds in silence (trss) and to check if it is possible, through the audiogram, to set up a prognostic of the patients about their communication ability. methods: 42 individuals with moderate cochlear hearing loss, 18 females and 24 males, 41 to 76-year old were studied. firstly, a basic audiologic evaluation was carried out, then a search of trss in free field, through the portuguese sentence list test (pslt) (costa, 1998). results: the statistical analysis showed significant correlation between the sentence recognition thresholds in silence and the average of frequencies of 0.5, 1 and 2 khz. however, when correlating with the average frequencies of 3, 4 e 6 khz, there was no significant correlation. conclusion: the probable prognostic concerning the ability for recognizing sentences in silence can be carried through just with the frequency thresholds of 0.5, 1 and 2 khz in cochlear hearing loss.
