Al?a da artéria pulmonar: relato de dois casos e revis?o da literatura
Santana, Pablo Rydz Pinheiro;Irion, Klaus Loureiro;Escuissato, Dante Luiz;Porto, Nelson da Silva;Fisher, Gilberto Bueno;Mocelin, Helena Terezinha;Marchiori, Edson;Mazer, Sérgio;
Radiologia Brasileira , 2005, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-39842005000400014
Abstract: the authors report two cases of pulmonary artery sling diagnosed by three-dimensional reconstruction of images of the tracheobronchial tree and the esophagus acquired using magnetic resonance imaging or helical computer tomography. the typical clinical findings of this congenital abnormality, which may not be as rare as previously believed, include those related to severe tracheobronchial obstruction, although asymptomatic or mild symptomatic cases have been reported. early diagnosis of this anomaly is extremely important, since in most cases immediate surgical correction is indicated due to its high lethality. the use of three-dimensional reconstruction allows simultaneous identification of the associated tracheobronchial and cardiovascular malformations, in addition to a clear visualization of the anomaly. thus, the diagnosis can usually be established non-invasively, avoiding the use of the selective angiocardiography, considered the gold-standard.
Estudo comparativo da aduba??o foliar com a convencional do algodoeiro
Silva, Nelson Machado da;
Bragantia , 1969, DOI: 10.1590/S0006-87051969000100005
Abstract: a comparison between the efficiency of cotton fertilization by leaf spraying and usual soil incorporation was made. experiments were conducted in 3 consecutive years (1964-1966), using the variety iac rm3, on a "latossolo roxo", at campinas, s?o paulo state. fertilin solutions, which provided n, p, k, ca and mg, were applied on leaves six times during the three first months of plant cycle. the possibility of complete substitution of traditional fertilization was studied. complementary and supplementary effects of leaf fertilizer were also tested. the total yield of cotton showed evident advantageous effect of traditional manuring only. in the last experiment, however, some indications of leaf fertilizer action were noticed.
Efeitos da utiliza??o de misturas de adubos com ou sem enxofre na precocidade e nas características do capulho e da fibra do algodoeiro
Sabino, Nelson Paulieri;Silva, Nelson Machado da;
Bragantia , 1984, DOI: 10.1590/S0006-87051984000100008
Abstract: effects of fertilizers mixtures with or without sulfur on cotton earliness and some characteristics of fiber and bolls, obtained in a field experiment carried out at guaira county (sp) in a oxisoil -"latossolo roxo" - during the years of 1974/75 to 1977/78, are related. the following conclusions can be drawn from the results: a - soil fertilizations with concentrated superphosphate or ordinary superphosphate resulted in early picking of cotton crop. plant cycle, was delayed with split application of ammonium sulphate; b - both concentrated superphosphate and ordinary superphosphate increased significantly boll weight and fiber length, but only ordinary superphosphate gave significant increases on seed weights and micronaire values; c - length uniformity, maturity, strength and percentage of fiber were not influenced by these treatments.

Abstract: this work sought to characterize the risk sharing in latin america, utilizing income and consumption per capita of 18 latin american, 6 developed and 11 emerging countries, over the period of 1951-2003. the methodology used data in panel, cointegration and error-correction model. observed that the risk sharing in latin america, in general, is low. intra latin america, it was 20% in short term and 7% in long term. intra latin america and inter developed countries, 15% in short term and 4% in the long term. intra latin america and inter developed countries plus the emergent ones, 15% in short term and 13% in the long term. by results, a bigger financial integration of latin america, intra and intercountries, more specifically with emerging countries, would promote bigger smoothing of its consumption.
Abordagem intertemporal da conta corrente: introduzindo cambio e juros no modelo básico
Silva, Nelson da;Andrade, Joaquim Pinto de;
Economia Aplicada , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S1413-80502007000200001
Abstract: the standard model of the intertemporal approach of current account assumes restrictive hypothesis that all goods are tradables and that foreign interest rate is constant. in this paper we follow bergin and sheffrin's (2000) model to evaluate the dynamic of the current account and the capital mobility in brazil. bs model follows the line of the present value models and it enables us to insert interest and exchange rates. tests of the model follow the econometric technique developed by campbell (1987) and campbell and shiller (1987). the empirical results of this work suggest that the introduction of the interest and exchange rates in the intertemporal model is not enough for one to consistently explain the fluctuations of the brazilian current account balance.
A recodifica??o pós-moderna da pervers?o: sobre a produ??o do comportamento de consumo e sua gramática libidinal
Silva Junior, Nelson da;Lirio, Daniel Rodrigues;
ágora: Estudos em Teoria Psicanalítica , 2006, DOI: 10.1590/S1516-14982006000100005
Abstract: assuming theodore adorno's criticism about the cultural industry, which turns it into a means of production of consumer behavior, we try to demonstrate how the grammar of perversion tends to monopolize the forms of pleasure in post-modernity. according to our hypothesis, consumer production recodifies the primal repression conceived by freud: that grammar suppresses libidinal satisfaction in the same manner that primal repression does. however, instead of utilizing dissatisfied powers of the libido into work, such grammar directs erotic surfeit towards the pleasure of consuming: this way, it follows the perverse model of satisfaction in order to attend the economic interests.
Sublima??o e puls?o de morte: a desfus?o pulsional
Metzger, Clarissa;Silva Junior, Nelson da;
Psicologia USP , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-65642010000300007
Abstract: the introduction of freud’s second drive dualism is conected to a series of changes in the understanding of sublimation. sublimation begins to present itself as the main cause of drive defusion, what leads to a paradox: for, if sublimation is the foundation of culture, it is also the cause of destructivity in this same culture. the death drive resulting from drive defusion has effects as much in each individual - as it is the case of social isolation and melancholy - as in the culture as a whole, as it is observed regarding to the primacy of image in contemporary society. this article aims to discuss some of the effects of defusionned death drive, understood as result of sublimation, mainly in respect to sublimation implied in literary creation.
