Evaluation of the Biotechnological Potential of Isolated Bacteria of the Soil in the Degradation of Residues of Skin Swine  [PDF]
Andréia Dalla Rosa, Nelson G. Golynski, Mário L. Teixeira
Advances in Microbiology (AiM) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/aim.2014.49054
Abstract:

The degradation of industrial residues is of great importance for the maintenance of the environment. Therefore, the objective of this study is to verify the proteases production for bacteria of the gender isolated Bacillus of soil. The samples of skin residue were collected in industries of the area west of Santa Catarina, using residue of skin rude swine and residue of skin processed swine. The verification of the biotechnological potential consisted of the use of these residues in middle of culture and inoculation of the respective species of bacteria. The results were more expressive in the samples of skin processed swine, where it showed a degradation average around 43.55% (p/p). While, in the samples of residue of skin rude swine, an average of degradation of 20.60% (p/p) happened. In this way, the residue of skin processed swine is more sensitive than the catalytic activity of the bacterial enzymes.

A note on the power of quantum fingerprinting
Alexander Golynski,Pranab Sen
Physics , 2005,
Abstract: In this short note, we improve and extend Yao's paper "On the power of quantum fingerprinting" about simulating a classical public coin simultaneous message protocol by a quantum simultaneous message protocol with no shared resource.
Sufficiently Fat Polyhedra are not 2-castable
David Bremner,Alexander Golynski
Computer Science , 2002,
Abstract: In this note we consider the problem of manufacturing a convex polyhedral object via casting. We consider a generalization of the sand casting process where the object is manufactured by gluing together two identical faces of parts cast with a single piece mold. In this model we show that the class of convex polyhedra which can be enclosed between two concentric spheres of the ratio of their radii less than 1.07 cannot be manufactured using only two cast parts.

DE LA RABIA HUMANA DE ORIGEN CANINO Y OTRAS VERGüENZAS
Nelson Alvis G
Gómez-Serrudo,Nelson;
Universitas Humanística , 2008,
Abstract: this article reflects on how daily life and playing games was the citizen training strategy used for children in the neighborhoods of santa fe, la candelaria, and suba, among others. the text is a compilation of fragments of interviews, workshops, and urban trips done with the same children during the second half of 2002, as part of the project "new citizen voices" carried out by the departamento administrativo de bienestar social (dabs). the author inquires as to how these children take on the urban dynamics in relationship to the places where they socialize and/or coexist side-by-side, places that in turn determine the social character of both public and private life. the topic of citizen education or training is approached from the perspective of children's rights and the participation they experience in public spaces such as the street, the neighborhood, the park, and the school where they learn how to deliberate on the needs and interests of their community. a main concept used in the paper is that of a third zone, that propitious space where children explore freedom, imagination, wonderment, and difference. on the other hand, the way in which children live in their private realm is also analyzed; that is, how they live in the intimate space of family life. the article is structured around three moments: spaces for encounters and disagreements; participation and citizenship; and the public and private realms.

This article offers a review of the bibliography written during the period 1990-2006 about the public space in Bogotá. Following the main themes and focuses characterizing that bibliography, the author evaluates the knowledge about the urban public space produced by the Social Sciences. Also, the article highlights the relationships between those studies and the public space policy in Bogotá.
Temperature Effects on Edge Magnetoplasmons in the Quantum Hall Regime
O. G. Balev,Nelson Studart
Physics , 1999, DOI: 10.1103/PhysRevB.61.2703
Abstract: A microscopic treatment of edge magnetoplasmons (EMPs) is presented for the case of not-too-low temperatures in which the inequality $k_{B}T\gg \hbar v_{g}/\ell_{0}$, where $v_{g}$ is the group velocity of the edge states and $\ell_{0}$ is the magnetic length, is fulfilled, and for filling factors $\nu =1(2)$. We have obtained independent EMP modes spatially symmetric and antisymmetric with respect to the edge. We describe in detail the spatial structure and dispersion relations of the new edge waves (edge helicons, dipole, quadrupole and octupole EMPs), which have the characteristic length $\ell_{T}=\ell_{0}^{2}k_{B}T/\hbar v_{g}$. We have found that, in contrast to well-known results for a spatially homogeneous dissipation within the channel, the damping of the fundamental EMP at not-too-low temperatures is not quantized and has a $T^{-1}$ dependence.
