Abstract: We investigate the existence of Ion-Acoustic solitary/shock waves in a five component cometary plasma consisting of positively and negatively charged oxygen ions, kappa described hydrogen ions, hot electrons and cold electrons. The KPB equation is derived for the system; its solution is plotted for different kappa values, as well as for the temperature ratios of ions. It is found that the amplitude of solitary structure increases with increasing kappa values and negatively charged oxygen ion densities. As the temperature of the positively charged oxygen ions increases, the amplitude of solitary wave also increases. We have also studied the dependence of coefficients of the KPB equation on physical parameters relevant to comet Halley.
Comparison of Load Balancing and Scheduling Algorithms in Cloud Environment
Karthika M T,,Neethu Kurian,,Mariya Seby
International Journal of Innovative Technology and Exploring Engineering , 2013,
Abstract: The importance of cloud computing is increasing nowadays. Cloud computing is used for the delivery of hosted services like reliable, fault tolerant and scalable infrastructure over Internet. A variety of algorithms is used in the cloud environment for scheduling and load balancing, thereby reducing the total cost. The main algorithms usually used include, optimal cloud resource provisioning (OCRP) algorithm and hybrid cloud optimized cost(HCOC)scheduling algorithm These algorithms will formulate the optimized cost of resources in the cloud environment.

Classification of Intrusion Detection Dataset using machine learning Approaches

International Journal of Electronics and Computer Science Engineering , 2012,
Abstract: The paper describes about a method of intrusion detection that uses machine learning algorithms. Here we discuss about the combinational use of two machine learning algorithms called Principal Component Analysis and Naive Bayes classifier. The dimensionality of the dataset is reduced by using the principal component analysis and the classification of the dataset in to normal and attack classes is done by using Na ve Bayes Classifier. The experiments were conducted on the intrusion detection dataset called KDD’99 cup dataset. The comparison of the results with and without dimensionality reduction is also done.
Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization for Qualitative Enhancement of Myocardial Perfusion Images  [PDF]
Neethu M. Sasi, V. K. Jayasree
Engineering (ENG) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/eng.2013.510B066
Abstract:

This paper establishes an efficient color space for the contrast enhancement of myocardial perfusion images. The effects of histogram equalization and contrast limited adaptive histogram equalization are investigated and the one which gives good enhancement results is extended to the suitable color space. The color space which gives better results is chosen experimentally. Uniqueness of this work is that contrast limited adaptive histogram equalization technique is applied to the chrominance channels of the cardiac nuclear image, leaving the luminance channel unaffected which results in an enhanced image output in color space.

PLANES MíNIMOS OBLIGATORIOS EN MERCADOS DE SEGUROS DE SALUD SEGMENTADOS

Abstract: we analyze the effect of introducing a minimum mandatory health insurance plan in a segmented market in which high risks are affiliated to the public insurer and low risks to the private ones (market segmentation is endogenously obtained in our model). we assume both types of insurers must provide the basic plan, insurance is compulsory, and there is a minimum premium regulation. when we compare the equilibriums pre and post introduction of the basic health insurance plan, we find that an implicit subsidy mechanism operates that gives some solidarity lo the system, even though no explicit risk compensation mechanism is introduced. for this implicit subsidy mechanism lo operate, it is fundamental that not only the price of the basic plan is regulated but also the quality of the services included in such plan, and that the regulator is able lo guarantee private insurers do offer the minimum plan lo all risks.
O discurso político sobre a educa??o no Brasil autoritário
Germano, José Willington;
Cadernos CEDES , 2008, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-32622008000300003
Abstract: this paper purports to explain the authoritative political discourse on education in brazil, as well as its materialization into the post-1964 educational policies. although it is mainly concerned with the period inaugurated by the 1964 civil-military coup, we had to back into history until the 1930s. we could then unveil the constitution process of a social instituting imaginary concerning the role of the military, especially the army, in the country's development. as time went by, anchored on the motto order and progress, a military way of thinking began to take shape. it considered the brazilian society and state needed to develop the country as well as the education required to back up the project men in uniform envisioned for the nation. from this standpoint, military intervention in politics, especially after the establishment of the new state (1937-1945), was salvationist and conservative in nature. throughout the 1937-1964 period, an idea grew in importance among the military: the role of the army, beyond its headquarters, was to educate people.

Abstract: After presenting an overview of the Argentine health care system including the most important features of its development over the past few years, the study realizes a theoretical review of the different resource transferring mechanisms that link the public sector with its own hospitals, and of the incentives these mechanisms generate. Under a fixed budget system, together with a program of fixed payments to staff, in which available resources do Iwl depend on hospital income, incentives toward greater effort and efficiency are either few or non existent. The main conclusions of the study are drawn from an agency model in which the government (as principal) must design both the funds transfer mechanism to the hospital (as agent), as well as the payments system to its staff. PLANES MíNIMOS OBLIGATORIOS EN MERCADOS DE SEGUROS DE SALUD SEGMENTADOS
Edmundo Beteta,Manuel Willington
