Abstract: Considering Single Health System (SUS) principles, the social mobilization for achievements in health, has great significance. This mobilization is a guarantee that people will participate in the process of policies formulation designed to health needs and quality of life. Therefore, this research aimed to encourage community leaders of neighborhoods from Basic Health Unit (BHU) Model region - Campo Mour o, PR, to mobilize their communities to explore different ways to increase the transit security. Besides, this research also objective to evaluate results of social mobilization. Students of Nursing (Integrado College from Campo Mour o), the community and the health UBS Model group established the local epidemiological profile. Thus, an intervention project was carried out to stimulate the mobilization of leaders to make an undersigned in their respective districts, to ensure the presence of a transit guard at the access transit route (BR 158 road) in UBS Model region. The indicator to evaluating community mobilization was the proportion of residents in UBS Model area aged over 18 years (2,792 individuals) who attended the undersigned. Data show that 7.02% of undersigned was over than 18 years, from these, 62.01% were female and 37.99% were male. Considering the region of residence: 37.00% were from Jardim Modelo; 19.40% from Jardim Santa Cruz; 12.85% from Jardim Silvana; 12.20% from Jardim Batel; 11.55% from Jardim Mario Figueiredo and no signature was collected at Jardim Esperan a. Regarding the proportion of signatures, results are proportional to population number in each region. Thus, community mobilization to undersigned, held by leaders from neighborhood, was low, and that popular participation in health at UBS model region should be reconsidered. It is necessary the development of methodological strategies to increase the latent capacity of persons (stakeholders), stimulating their potential.

Abstract: The consumption of beverages and processed foods, mainly soft drinks, has been incorporated into the usual diet of children, adolescents and adults frequently in recent years. The present study aimed to study the effects of carbonated drinks on Wistar rats, based on the macroscopic and histological morphology of the esophagus. Fifteen Wistar rats were divided into three groups: control group; group fed with ration and cola-type refrigerant ad libitum and group fed with ration and gas industrialized water ad libitum, for a trial period of 90 days. For histopathology and morphology, the esophagus was removed, prepared in slides and stained with hematoxylineosin. Images of the sections were captured for analysis and classification of the inflammatory infiltrate. For morphometry, ten grid fields of 100 points were evaluated in the 40x eyepiece, totaling 3000 points per animal. The results demonstrate that the refrigerant treatment induced the following structural changes in the rats: significant reduction of weight in relation to the control group; inflammatory infiltrate predominantly diffuse mild to moderate and tissue edema. The rats treated with carbonated water had similar results to the control, besides signs of healing and tissue repair.

Abstract: this study proposes to measure and compare anthropometric measurements between toothed and toothless maxillas. 26 human skulls were used with: 13 toothed and 13 toothless maxillas. the measurements were made between the distances of the alveolar ridge (ar): the anterior nasal spine (ans), to the incisive foramen (fi) and the palatine foramen, greater (fpma) and lower (fpme) on both sides by two evaluators. the data obtained showed that the average of the measurements were correspondingly higher in toothed maxillas than in toothless, for all measurements in any one of the evaluators. the ar-ans (p = 0.001), if-ar (p = 0.006), ar-fpma right (p = 0.001) and ar-fpma left (p <0.001) and ar-fpme on both sides (p = 0.001) demonstrating significant differences between the two types of maxilla. thus we verify that, as the tooth loss occurs, irreversible anatomical changes take place in the maxilla bone, which must be taken into account in the design and manufacture of prostheses and osseointegrated implants.

Abstract: the objective of this work was to evaluate induced resistance to asian soybean rust by means of enzyme activities in soybean genotypes contrasting as to their susceptibility to phakopsora pachyrhizi. total protein and the activities of five induced resistance marker enzymes (lipoxygenases, peroxidases, phenylalanine ammonia-lyase, chitinases and β-1, 3-glucanases) were evaluated in leaf extracts of soybean plants of the genotypes embrapa 48 (susceptible) and pi 561356 (resistant), inoculated or not with the pathogen. discrepant defense responses were obtained between the two genotypes and among the leaf harvest times (12, 72, and 168 hours after inoculation). the induction response of these enzymes resembles the biphasic defense in embrapa 48 and is consistent with that observed in other pathological systems. however, the genotype pi 561356 responded with a decrease in total protein concentration and in enzymatic activities, indicating a general reduction in the metabolism of the infected plants. there is an important mechanism of resistance for the genotype pi 561356, not yet reported, which is grounded on the metabolic ways involving these induced resistance marker enzymes and on the mechanisms that use lower concentrations of total protein, such as the ones with metabolic pathways in response cascade.

Abstract: this study reports the planning and the implementation of the program "recreio nas férias" in one of the centers of the program "second half" ("programa segundo tempo"), located in vila jones in the brazilian city of americana, state of s?o paulo. the program "leisure during the school break" ("recreio nas férias") is a project of the ministry of sports, lounged in 2009. the aim was, during the school break, to provide children and adolescents with sports and leisure activities (games, sports, artistic, cultural, social and tourism activities) "to fill the free time during school break with pleasant constructive ways" (brasil, 2010). paralleling these goals with the current thinking in the academic field of leisure, we observe that public policies still reinforces the notion that leisure is an occupation for "passing the time", mainly when designed for the working classes. this is evident with the explicit concern of "to fill the free time", emphasizing its occupational character. therefore, we discuss this situation under silva (2003, 2008) and marcellino (1995, 2001, 2008) approach in which leisure is one of many possibilities of living playfully and constructing citizenship. we attempt to answer the question: can leisure fulfill another role than this "passing the time" notion typically found in sport and leisure government policies for the working classes?

Abstract: Perinatal asphyxia is defined as harm to the fetus or the newborn caused by hypoxia and/or ischemia of various organs with intensity to produce biochemical and/or functional changes. Understanding the risk factors for this clinical condition allows the identification of vulnerable groups, enabling an improvement in care planning in the perinatal period in neonatal intensive care units. In this sense, this research aimed to identify risk factors for perinatal asphyxia present in newborns term that showed record for this clinical condition. This was a cross-sectional, retrospective documentary, quantitative and descriptive, conducted from data from medical records of 55 infants admitted to a neonatal intensive care unit. As for maternal characteristics (78.0%) had between 16 and 35 years, only one child (53.0%) and (76.0%) had no prior history of miscarriage. As for pre-existing diseases or pregnancy (38.0%) developed by Hypertensive Pregnancy Specific disease (02.0%) were suffering from Hypertension and (02.0%) of Diabetes Mellitus. As for newborns, most infants had birth weight (43.6%) and correlation with gestational age (78.2%) compatible for good conditions of birth. Only (20.0%) of the infants had a difficult labor. It stood out although there was a slight predominance of severe asphyxia (50.9%) in the first minute and (45.5%) of the infants had record release intrauterine meconium. It was concluded that most mothers and newborns did not have risk factors for perinatal asphyxia, thus, this fact could be attributed to the structural conditions of service, especially in the care during labor, delivery and immediate assistance newborn.

Abstract: we carried out an experiment-study to assess the health educational practices used by the sus municipal network (campinas/sp) during the implementation of the family health paideia. the 4th generation evaluation and the popular education in health were used as a support. as it was a critical action-research, this participant evaluation gathered the three groups of interest involved in these practices (users, workers and managers). based on collective interviews and focal groups within each group of interest and then among them, the results were validated at each step of the process, identifying contributions for changes and improvements. self-reflection on those lived educational practices, clarification of the subjectivities, implications and differences among the involved parts, combined with the quantitative data, became devices for permanent education and health management, creating alternatives to properly evaluate everyday services.
