Design and Application of Optimization Software for Substation Operation Mode Based on EMS  [PDF]

This paper proposes a kind of optimization software for substation operation mode, which can not only read data on-line from EMS, but also calculate total loss of substations in parallel operation, split operation or individual operation mode. It can also select the most optimized way and feed the conclusion back to EMS to make substations operate in the most optimized way. The software is suitable for optimization of substation in rural power grid.

Abstract: A new converter with spherical cap for energy scavenging is proposed. Based on the method of separated variables within the torrid coordinate system, a corresponding analytical model for spherical cap converter is further established so as to obtain the analytic expressions of the topology capacitance and the output voltage. The concept of energy increment factor is specifically defined to denote the improvement of energy storage efficiency. With regard to spherical cap converters of different dimensions, the measured values of energy increment factor coincide well with the theoretical equivalents, indicating an effective verification of the proposed analytical model for the spherical cap converter topology.
Fast Determination of 22 Pesticides in Rice Wine by Dispersive Solid-Phase Extraction in Combination with GC-MS  [PDF]

Abstract: A rapid method was developed for the determination of 22 pesticides in rice wine. The procedure involved an extraction with acetonitrile and a cleanup step using dispersive solid-phase extraction (d-SPE), and primary-secondary amine (PSA) and octadecylsilane (ODS) were used as sorbents. D-SPE had some advantages over some traditional prepara- tions, especially in time and cost. Both the extraction and cleanup only cost about 15 min per a sample. Then the GC-MS was used for quantitative and qualitative analysis. Matrix-matched standards solution and analyte protectant were compared to decrease the matrix effect, and the former showed a better efficacy. Acceptable linearity was achieved in the range of 0.05 - 0.30 mg/L. After matrix-matched standards calibration, recoveries were between 60 and 140%. For the most of pesticides, precision and repeatability were less than 10% and 16%, respectively. The result indicated that the developed method was suitable for the determination of the multi-pesticides in rice wine.

Abstract: Based on the proportionally fair scheme that Kelly proposed to solve the optimization problems for utility function in networks, and in order to improve the congestion control performance for the queue in router, the linear and terminal sliding active queue management (AQM) algorithms are designed. Especially in the ter-minal sliding AQM algorithm, a special nonlinear terminal sliding surface is designed in order to force queue length to reach the desired value in finite time. The upper bound of the time is also obtained. Simulation re-sults demonstrate that the proposed congestion algorithm enables the system be better transient and stable performance. At the same time, the robustness is guaranteed.

Abstract: With China’s export trade launches extensively, and the relevant trade systems obtain the unceasing development, but the credit insurance system is not perfect, such as the speed and the scale of China’s export credit insurance system are far from the requirements of the international trade development and the related legal system requires to be further strengthened. This article analyzes the export credit insurance’s concept, characteristics and functions as well as problems of the related legal system of China’s export credit insurance at the present stage, and proposes some suggestions to strengthen China’s export credit insurance system in order to promote the improvement of related legal system, better for China’s export trade services.
Facial Feature Point Detection: A Comprehensive Survey

Abstract: This paper presents a comprehensive survey of facial feature point detection with the assistance of abundant manually labeled images. Facial feature point detection favors many applications such as face recognition, animation, tracking, hallucination, expression analysis and 3D face modeling. Existing methods can be categorized into the following four groups: constrained local model (CLM)-based, active appearance model (AAM)-based, regression-based, and other methods. CLM-based methods consist of a shape model and a number of local experts, each of which is utilized to detect a facial feature point. AAM-based methods fit a shape model to an image by minimizing texture synthesis errors. Regression-based methods directly learn a mapping function from facial image appearance to facial feature points. Besides the above three major categories of methods, there are also minor categories of methods which we classify into other methods: graphical model-based methods, joint face alignment methods, independent facial feature point detectors, and deep learning-based methods. Though significant progress has been made, facial feature point detection is limited in its success by wild and real-world conditions: variations across poses, expressions, illuminations, and occlusions. A comparative illustration and analysis of representative methods provide us a holistic understanding and deep insight into facial feature point detection, which also motivates us to explore promising future directions.
Graphical Representation for Heterogeneous Face Recognition

Abstract: Heterogeneous face recognition (HFR) refers to matching non-photograph face images to face photos for identification. HFR plays an important role in both biometrics research and industry. In spite of promising progresses achieved in recent years, HFR is still a challenging problem due to the difficulty to represent two heterogeneous images in a homogeneous manner. Existing HFR methods either represent an image ignoring the spatial information, or rely on a transformation procedure which complicates the recognition task. Considering these problems, we propose a novel graphical representation based HFR method (G-HFR) in this paper. Markov networks are deployed to represent heterogeneous image patches separately, which take the spatial compatibility between neighboring image patches into consideration. A coupled representation similarity metric (CRSM) is designed to measure the similarity between obtained graphical representations. Extensive experiments conducted on two viewed sketch databases and a forensic sketch database show that the proposed method outperforms state-of-the-art methods.

Abstract: A proper edge t-coloring of a graph G is a coloring of its edges with colors ?1, 2,..., t,?such that all colors are used, and no two adjacent edges receive the same color. A cyclically interval t-coloring of a graph G is a proper edge t-coloring of G such that for each vertex\"\", either the set of colors used on edges incident to x or the set of colors not used on edges incident to x forms an interval of integers. In this paper, we provide a new proof of the result on the colors in cyclically interval edge colorings of simple cycles which was first proved by Rafayel R. Kamalian in the paper “On a Number of Colors in Cyclically Interval Edge Colorings of Simple Cycles, Open Journal of Discrete Mathematics, 2013, 43-48”.

Abstract: In this study,variations in composition and properties of polysaccharides isolated from brown algae Costaria costata were analyzed.The algae were collected from May to July of the harvest period.The carbohydrates alginate and fucoidan were extracted with selected solvents.1 H Nuclear magnetic resonance and rheology were used to investigate the monomer composition and rheological characteristics of alginate.Gas chromatography and Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy were employed to investigate the compositional properties of purified fucoidan.The results indicated that the composition and properties of alginate and fucoidan varied during the life of this alga.The alginate from the alga harvested in May and June had a higher molecular weight,viscosity,and proportion of mannuronic acid,whereas that harvested in July had a lower molecular weight and viscosity but a higher proportion of guluronic acid.The alginate from C.costata had a higher molecular weight and a different mannuronic acid:guluronic acid ratios compared with other algae;thus,it could be used in the chemical,food,cosmetics,and pharmaceutical industries.Fucoidan content reached the maximum in June.Substantial changes in the molecular weight distribution,monosaccharide composition,and sulfate content occurred simultaneously.The fraction of fucose in the polysaccharides decreased significantly from June to July,whereas that of mannose increased.This alga can be harvested during different growth periods to obtain fucoidans and alginates with different compositions and,therefore,with different biological properties
