CULTIVAR RELEASE - BRS 335: A midseason high-yielding upland cotton cultivar for Northeast Brazilian savanna
Camilo de Lelis Morello,Murilo Barros Pedrosa,Nelson Dias Suassuna,Luiz Gonzaga Chitarra
Crop Breeding and Applied Biotechnology , 2012,
Abstract: Cotton cultivar BRS 335 is a midseason high-yield cultivar and has adaptation to the Northeast Brazilian savanna, yield stability, desirable resistance to main cotton diseases and good fiber quality. The cultivar BRS 335 meets growers’ demands for competitive lint yield as well as fulfilling industrial textile requirements.
CULTIVAR RELEASE - BRS 336: A high-quality fiber upland cotton cultivar for Brazilian savanna and semi-arid conditions
Camilo de Lelis Morello,Murilo Barros Pedrosa,Nelson Dias Suassuna,Fernando Mendes Lamas
Crop Breeding and Applied Biotechnology , 2012,
Abstract: Cotton cultivar BRS 336 is a high-quality fiber upland cultivar and has wide adaptation to the Brazilian growing areas, with resistance to bacterial blight. BRS 336 exhibited fiber length higher than 32.0 mm in all field tests. Also, fiber strength exceeded all upland cotton currently grown in Brazil.

A rela??o corpo-natureza na modernidade
Suassuna, Dulce;Barros, J?natas;Azevedo, Aldo;Sampaio, Juarez;
Sociedade e Estado , 2005, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-69922005000100003
Abstract: this paper presents a theoretical reflection about the meaning of the body-nature relation, taking modernity as a context. the theoretical discussion proposed here is subsidized by the social theory, following the weberian thinking as a reference, where it concerns the view of modernity. it uses habermas to show that in modernity the shaped picture is built by means of breaches which occur as pathological consequences of the natural world; moment in which the man (body)-environment (nature) relation can be discussed. the recovery of the contribution of habernas happened through the classic text theory of the communicative action and the reading of goldblatt in his book social and environment theory. besides these authors, others are used within this line of thought. however, attempting to dodge the instrumentalist view, mauss was embraced as a basis, through the theory of the total social fact and the notion of body techniques, in order to find theoretical support for a possible justification of the perspective of interdisciplinary studies between the field of social sciences and physical education and, consequently, of the sport.
Efeito da varia??o de níveis de água disponível no solo sobre o crescimento e produ??o de feij?o caupi, vagens e gr?os verdes
Nascimento, Jo?o Tavares;Pedrosa, Murilo Barros;Tavares Sobrinho, José;
Horticultura Brasileira , 2004, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-05362004000200002
Abstract: the effect of different levels of available water in the soil was evaluated on the growth and production of green pod and green beans (vigna unguiculata (l.) walp) of cowpea, cv. ipa 206. both forms of commercialization are excellent alternatives for farmers from the northeast of brazil. plants were cultivated in 13 kg soil pots under green house conditions in areia, paraiba state, from august to december/2000. the experimental design was a randomized complete block design with six replications and four treatments corresponding to 40; 60; 80 and 100% of available water in the soil, just after irrigations. the production was significantly affected by the deficit of water. great reduction was observed in the length of the main stem (26 and 48%), in the number of leaves per plant (23 and 35%), in the number of pods per plant (32 and 49%) and in the mass of pods per plant (23 and 30%), respectively, for the levels of 60 and 40% of available water in the soil. the production of green pod and green beans of cowpea cv. ipa 206 is greatly affected by deficit of water of 40 and 60%.
Estabilidade de emuls?es de carne obtidas em laboratório
Graner, Murilo;Barros, Natal B. Meira;Moraes, Roberto S. de;
Anais da Escola Superior de Agricultura Luiz de Queiroz , 1974, DOI: 10.1590/S0071-12761974000100023
Abstract: the influence of some factors on the stability of meat emulsions prepared with a table size meat cutter (hobart 84142) was studied. bovine lean meat (fresh, postrigor) from different carcass lacations was used as the only source of stabilizing proteins, and pork fat was emulsified according to common industrial formulations and practices. stable and unstable systems were obtained, the ph of meat or emulsions being a limiting factor". preblending of the meat (ground beef plus common salt) decreased the amount of fat separated, but was not enough to prevent emulsions breakdown.
Expression of Grapevine leafroll-associated virus 3 coat protein gene in Escherichia coli and production of polyclonal antibodies
Fajardo, Thor V.M.;Barros, Danielle R.;Nickel, Osmar;Kuhn, Gilmar B.;Zerbini, F. Murilo;
Fitopatologia Brasileira , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-41582007000600007
Abstract: grapevine leafroll-associated virus 3 (glrav-3), the main viral species of the grapevine leafroll complex, causes yield and quality reduction in grapes (vitis spp.). the coat protein gene was rt-pcr-amplified from total rna extracted from infected grapevine leaves and the amplified fragment was cloned and completely sequenced. the fragment was subsequently subcloned into the prset-c expression vector. the recombinant plasmid was used to transform escherichia coli bl21:de3 and express the capsid protein. the coat protein, fused to a 6 his-tag, was purified by affinity chromatography using an ni-nta resin. the identity of the purified protein was confirmed by sds-page and western blot. the in vitro-expressed protein was quantified and used for rabbit immunizations. the antiserum was shown to be sensitive and specific for the detection of glrav-3 in grapevine extracts in western blot and das-elisa assays, with no unspecific or heterologous reactions against other non-serologically related viruses being observed.
