Composi??o química e digestibilidade em ovinos da grama estrela ensilada com diferentes aditivos

Abstract: the purpose of this study was to evaluate the chemical composition and apparent digestiblity in sheep of stargrass ensilaged with different additives. the additives used were enzyme-bacterial inoculent (in two concentrations) and urea (10 kg/ton), totalling 4 treatments. for the digestability experiment, four male sheep were distributed in a (4x4) latin square design. with respect to chemical composition, the variables; dry matter, crude protein, ether extract, acid detergent fiber, and lignin showed statistical difference (p<0,05) among the obtained values. however, neutral detergent fiber showed no difference among treatments. concerning buffering capacity and ph, the lowest values were for silages treated with inoculents. no treatment effects (inoculent or urea application) for dry matter, crude protein, or neutral detergent fiber digestibility of stargrass silages were detected.
A simple model to estimate the optimal doping of p - Type oxide superconductors

Abstract: oxygen doping of superconductors is discussed. doping high-tc superconductors with oxygen seems to be more efficient than other doping procedures. using the assumption of double valence fluctuations, we present a simple model to estimate the optimal doping of p-type oxide superconductors. the experimental values of oxygen content for optimal doping of the most important p-type oxide superconductors can be accounted for adequately using this simple model. we expect that our simple model will encourage further experimental and theoretical researches in superconducting materials.

Abstract: a sharp drop in the prevalence of leprosy occurred in the last three decades. however, the incidence has not decreased at the same rate. three years after the world health organization last deadline for leprosy control, patients considered healed still need special care for their incapacities and immunopathological reactions. medical literature reffers blindness in 4% to 11% of studied patients and more than 20% with severe visual problems due to corneal exposure, bacillary invasion and hipersensibility. these mechanisms result in a population of nearly one million blind leprosy patients even though official prevalence accounts no more than 250,000 patients worldwide. the author calls for better patients management and follow-up and urges ophthalmologists to become more aware and interested in the treatment of the ocular complications of leprosy.

Abstract: the article intends to analize the beginning of the history of the brazilian education, presenting several publications. the sources of this study were disclosed during the national and international expositions in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. the initial landmark in 1881 refers to the exposition of history of brazil, in rio de janeiro, and the end in 1922 refers to the international exhibit which celebrated the centennary of the independance, also in rio. for each exhibit, the nation was proclaimed in the wake of progress, guided by science, industry and technology. the history of every sector and institution which were seen as the foundation of the "modern" civilization were boosted, including the history of the brazilian education. our "evolution" was announced for a near future. the analysis will show that the privilege assigned to sources coming from the educational legislation, governamental repports, or parliament debates, and the election of recurrent themes in our educational historiography has its roots in these publications.

Abstract: O texto apresenta reflex es sobre abordagens ambientais e como as matrizes discursivas oficiais ocultam o território, o espa o, as classes sociais e deslocam os conflitos da produ o destrutiva, intensificada pelo meio técnico-científico, para o planejamento do uso de recursos no século XX. Destaca aspectos da ocupa o produtiva e da ocupa o/da produ o destrutivas, apontando o processo de domínio do território, das técnicas e do avan o do capital. Apresenta algumas ideias norteadoras para repensar os temas que envolvem a problemática ambiental, destacando a necessidade de ultrapassar o pensamento único centralizador e simplificador para um pensamento complexo.

O objetivo do presente trabalho é explorar algumas das rela es entre histórias em quadrinhos e educa o infantil, destacando o contexto em que surgiram, suas características e seu potencial pedagógico. Different aspects of cartoon stories have attracted the attention of political scientists, sociologists, linguistics, and others. Psychologists and educators are interested in these stories because they affect the reader's education. The purpose of this study was to elucidate some relations between cartoon stories and childhood education, emphasizing the storie's context, their characteristics, and their educational value.

Inequalities in oral health and oral health promotion

Abstract: This article offers a critical review of the problem of inequalities in oral health and discusses strategies for disease prevention and oral health promotion. It shows that oral health is not merely a result of individual biological, psychological, and behavioral factors; rather, it is the sum of collective social conditions created when people interact with the social environment. Oral health status is directly related to socioeconomic position across the socioeconomic gradient in almost all populations. The main priority for dental interventions is that they be integrated collaboratively and enable research and policies that address the main proximal determinants of oral diseases, i.e., sugars, smoking, hygiene, and risk behaviors. Adopting a mixed approach, these interventions should also reduce inequality, focusing on the socioeconomic determinants, to change the slope of the social gradient. The cornerstone of this approach is the Integrated Common Risk Factor Approach (CRFA).
