?Nosotros o ellos? Representaciones sociales, polarización y espacio público en Venezuela
Lozada,Mireya;
Cuadernos del Cendes , 2008,
Abstract: ten years after its inauguration, hugo chávez is still the central figure and the illusion of change remains. but for some sectors the one possibility of change is that he leaves office, and for others that he stays. this paradoxical illusion accounts for an acute process of polarization and sociopolitical clash that shows antagonistic mental representations of the groups in conflict. characterized by a real-symbolic establishing of territorial limits and mutually excluding proposals, this context has a severe impact on the environment. besides, although it has worked as a catalyst for political awareness, has boosted participation, reinforced the identity of different groups and resignified politics in several social sectors, the intense social confrontation has hindered dialog and agreements possibilities.

Abstract: introduction: it is not an easy task for clinicians to read articles stemming from qualitative research. the poor understanding of the methods used and the lack of knowledge as to how to assess them deepen the problem. objective: to propose an instrument that will aid clinicians, faculty, residents and students of the health-related fields in the systematic evaluation of qualitative research. method: a set of guidelines are provided that may serve as a starting point for those interested, to decide as to the quality, credibility, and usefulness of the results. results: the chosen structure consists of first, an introduction where it is expected that the evaluator has a qualitative research article at hand with the purpose of studying its configuration. second, the title, authors, introduction, methods, methodological rigor, results, discussion-conclusions, and references are taken into account.
Editorial. ENFERMERíA EN UN CONTEXTO CAMBIANTE
Alejos Mireya
Salud, Arte y Cuidado , 2011,
Instrumento para evaluación de estudios producto de investigación cualitativa An Instrument for the Assessment of Qualitative Research

MIREYA MEDINA
Universitas Psychologica , 2004,
Abstract: This proposal presents, in the first place, relevant conceptual aspects for a general understanding of this approach;they aim to the formulation of an implementation proposal of the approach to the field of education and trainingof psychologists in professional orientation; finally, a systematic reflection is presented, associated to its applicabilityin the training of psychologists who teach professional orientation in Liberal Courses at the Pontificia UniversityJaveriana.

Ten years after its inauguration, Hugo Chávez is still the central figure and the illusion of change remains. But for some sectors the one possibility of change is that he leaves office, and for others that he stays. This paradoxical illusion accounts for an acute process of polarization and sociopolitical clash that shows antagonistic mental representations of the groups in conflict. Differentiated evolutionary rates in alternative exons and the implications for splicing regulation
Mireya Plass, Eduardo Eyras
BMC Evolutionary Biology , 2006, DOI: 10.1186/1471-2148-6-50
Abstract: We find evidence for a relation between the lack of conservation of the exonic structure and the weakening of the sequence evolutionary constraints in alternative and constitutive exons. Exons in transcripts with non-conserved exonic structures have higher synonymous (dS) and non-synonymous (dN) substitution rates than exons in conserved structures. Moreover, alternative exons in transcripts with non-conserved exonic structure are the least constrained in sequence evolution, and at high EST-inclusion levels they are found to be very similar to constitutive exons, whereas alternative exons in transcripts with conserved exonic structure have a dS significantly lower than average at all EST-inclusion levels. We also find higher conservation in the arrangement of ESEs in constitutive exons compared to alternative ones. Additionally, the sequence conservation at flanking introns remains constant for constitutive exons at all ESE-conservation values, but increases for alternative exons at high ESE-conservation values.We conclude that most of the differences in dN observed between alternative and constitutive exons can be explained by the conservation of the transcript exonic structure. Low dS values are more characteristic of alternative exons with conserved exonic structure, but not of those with non-conserved exonic structure. Additionally, constitutive exons are characterized by a higher conservation in the arrangement of ESEs, and alternative exons with an ESE-conservation similar to that of constitutive exons are characterized by a conservation of the flanking intron sequences higher than average, indicating the presence of more intronic regulatory signals.Alternative splicing (AS) can have a biologically relevant effect on protein structure, as it allows the shuffling of protein domains rather than disrupting them [1]. Consequently, alternative splicing can modulate the function of a gene, affecting, for instance, the signal peptides and the transmembrane segments [
Barón Pulido,Mireya;
Anagramas -Rumbos y sentidos de la comunicación- , 2011,
Abstract: this review article is based on two points of view: the first one is related to characterization of new information and communication technologies (nict) and the mediations in the university educational context; the second one show a tendency nict research results have had in latin america and europe during the last 5 years. documents consulted involve both qualitative and quantitative studies; documents were taken from indexed databases and approaches involve the psychological context and the educational, communicational, and anthropological-cultural contexts recognizing the existence of the net generation (''net generation'': oblinger, 2005; nativos digitales: piscitelli, 2009; multitasking generation; gruffat, 2004). product of this documentary review, the research design emerges: ''semiosis en sistemas sígnicos y mediaciones tic en población estudiantil politécnico grancolombiano-colombia'' registered with colciencias in year 2011.
