To Discuss the Construction of Henan Agricultural Ecological Civilization

Abstract: Henan has a population of over one hundred million people, which ranks the first in all Chinese provinces. Its total grain output accounts for one tenth of the country. As the most populous and largest agricultural province in China, research on Henan is a window for penetrating into phenomena in China. At present, Henan is in the stage of developing agricultural modernization, advancing industrialization, and urbanization at the same time. The contradiction between ecological environment and economic development has become increasingly prominent in Henan. Only with correct development orientation, integration of advantages, highlighting of characteristics, can we find a scientific way of coordinated development of agricultural modernization, industrialization and urbanization at no expense of destroying agriculture and food security, ecology and environment. In this way, we can better serve as the bibcock model in the course of accelerating the construction of economic zone of Central Plains and realize mutual benefit and win-win result.
Two Modifications of Weight Calculation of the Non-Local Means Denoising Method  [PDF]

The non-local means (NLM) denoising method replaces each pixel by the weighted average of pixels with the sur-rounding neighborhoods. In this paper we employ a cosine weighting function instead of the original exponential func-tion to improve the efficiency of the NLM denoising method. The cosine function outperforms in the high level noise more than low level noise. To increase the performance more in the low level noise we calculate the neighborhood si-milarity weights in a lower-dimensional subspace using singular value decomposition (SVD). Experimental compari-sons between the proposed modifications against the original NLM algorithm demonstrate its superior denoising per-formance in terms of peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR) and histogram, using various test images corrupted by additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN).

Abstract: In the micro-grid photovoltaic systems, the random changes of solar radiation enable lead-acid batteries to experience low SOC (State of Charge) or overcharged for periods of time if directly charged with such traditional methods as decreased charging current, which will reduce lifetime of batteries. What’s more, it’s difficult to find a proper reduction coefficient in decreasing charging current. To adapt to the random changes of circumstance and avoid selecting the reduction coefficient, a new fast charging method named decreased charging current based on SOC is proposed to apply into micro-grid photovoltaic systems. It combines batteries’ SOC with the maximum charging voltage to determine the charging rate without strictly selecting reduction coefficient. By close-loop current control strategy and related scheme, the experiment proves the new method is feasible and verifies that, comparing with decreased charging current, the improved method make batteries’ SOC reach 100% in shorter time as well as the temperature of batteries raise more slowly.
Experimental Study on Chloride Ion Penetration Resistance of Coal Gangue Concrete under Multi-Factor Comprehensive Action  [PDF]

In order to investigate the chloride ion penetration resistance of coal gangue concrete under multi-factor comprehensive action, the non-steady-state accelerated chloride ion migration test was used to test the chloride diffusion law of coal gangue concrete specimens by crack width, curing temperature and water-cement ratio. Three groups of crack width (0 mm, 0.05 - 0.12 mm, 0.12 - 0.2 mm), three curing temperatures (high temperature 45, medium temperature 25, low temperature 10), three water cement ratios (0.3, 0.4, 0.5) were set in the experiment. The results show that when the curing temperature and water cement ratio are constant, the crack width less than 0.12 mm has little effect on the chloride content and chloride diffusion coefficient. When the crack width is larger than 0.12 mm, the chloride penetration depth increases with the crack width. The resistance to chloride ion penetration of gangue concrete is greatly influenced by the water cement ratio. The influ-ence degree of three factors on chloride ion migration coefficient of gangue concrete is as follows: water cement ratio > crack width > curing temperature.

Abstract: With economic globalization and the constant deepening of Chinese market economic reform, there occurs increasingly fierce competition among enterprises. Due to unique values, scarcity and inimitably organized classical characteristic, the human resources of modern enterprises become an integral component of modern enterprises’ competitiveness. How well human resources support the core capacity and competing advantages of an enterprise depends on employees’ core expertise and skills that create values for clients. The training system that is oriented on corporate strategies and core capacities is thus an important basis for cultivating and improving corporate employees’ core knowledge and skills. In this paper, we select GF company as the research object, making full use of human resource management related theory, literature research, case method, interview method to put forward an optimization design of GF company training system.
Chinese Rule-Abiding Decision-Making and Hidden Motives: Simulation Findings and Implications  [PDF]

Abstract: In order to understand how hidden motives operate in organized social systems in China, I conducted a laboratory experiment to answer three research questions as follows: Are Chinese citizens generally and state cadres (non-manual workers on government payroll) in particular rule-abiding beings? What are their underlying motives when making rule-abiding decisions? What are the sociological and political implications that can be drawn from their rule-abiding decision-making regularities? The findings form a basis to yield answers for future verification. First, the subjects were rule-abiding beings observing both formal and informal rules. Second, given the interventions, the subjects’ decision-making reflected that they had different motives when making rule-abiding decisions, fol-lowing the collective-interest-oriented logic of consequentialism, the logic of appropriateness, the self-interest-maximization logic of consequentialism, the logic of appropriateness, and the logic of practicality. And third, given that most subjects could be considered pragmatic-rational beings, the ground for building socialism is sociologically and politically shaky. The CPC leadership has to be more devoted to searching for contemporary social and political ideologies to displace the prevailing pragmatic-rational values.
The Dynamics of Sustainable Regime Continuity of China  [PDF]

Abstract: In the light of various epidemic problems, such as inequality, inequity, corruption, and continual mass protests, is regime collapse in China probable? What are the necessary and sufficient conditions for the occurrence of regime collapse and continuity? To address these questions, I conducted field research in PRC in 2007-2016 to analyze the basic governance problems of the Communist Party of China to generate a basis for predicting China’s political development. The key findings are that China’s political development is indeed at the crossroads, that regime succession advocates do have the leverage to transform PRC into a capitalist-political system, but that sustainable regime continuity will be enhanced if certain sufficient conditions are present. My principal conclusions are that a dynamic gaming relation is in existence in such a way that both the CPC leadership and regime succession advocates could maneuver at the presence of certain necessary conditions as well as the creation of sufficient conditions for regime continuity or succession. Moreover, once the issues of ideological misfit and governance legitimacy are resolved by theoretical breakthrough, which is already in progress, CPC’s sustainable regime continuity will be enhanced. Furthermore, the CPC leadership may well be remembered historically for its contribution to pushing China into a prosperity age, characterized not only by political stability, economic prosperity, and societal harmony, but also the vanishing of exploitation, oppression, and avoidable pain and agony, as well as the flourishing of human growth and development, productivity, and sustainable happiness.
In Search of the Necessary Conditions for Transforming the Chinese Reified Social Reality  [PDF]

Abstract: A reified social reality is oppressive in essence and reactionary by nature. Transforming reified social realities is thus desirable, but what are the necessary conditions for effective transformation? The related literature has yet to furnish a basis to address this critical question. To generate theoretically meaningful and practically usable knowledge for theorists and practitioners, this paper analyzes a successful case of the transformation of a reified social reality in China in the early 20th?Century and reports a recent natural experiment basing on the findings of the aforementioned case analysis. The purposes are to identify the necessary conditions for effective transformation and to illustrate how the propositions basing on the fruitful experience reported could be applied to formulate strategies for solving similar problems in contemporary China. The principal finding of the case study is that pertinent political propositions, appropriate strategies, and effective operation mechanisms are the three necessary conditions for the occurrence of transformation of reified social reality. The principal finding of the natural experiment is that the three necessary conditions are indeed essential to enhancing the feasibility of the occurrence of transformation of the reified social reality in China in the 21st?Century. Research and policy implications are discussed.

Abstract: The progress of science and technology and the development of innovation activities are the important impetus for the rapid development of China’s economy. Due to the low level of technology, insufficient funds and scarce resources of scientific and technological innovation, China’s innovation strategy tends to imitate technological innovation. For developing countries, this model of imitation and innovation has indeed played an important role in improving a country’s technological conditions and laid a technological foundation for catching up with developed countries. First, this paper defines the concept of imitation innovation, analyzes the relationship between the imitation innovation and independent innovation, the issue between imitation innovation and intellectual property, the influence factors of imitation innovation; secondly, the influence of imitation innovation on enterprise innovation performance is summarized. Finally, the future research of imitation innovation is prospected.
Exploration of Threshold Analysis in the Relation between Urbanization and Carbon Emissions: The Case of China  [PDF]

In the process of urbanization, energy consumption has significant effect on carbon emissions. The aim of this paper is to analyze the impact of urbanization on carbon emissions for different income levels across 29 provinces of China during 1995-2015. The improved STIRPAT model provides the theoretical foundation for this research. Then, the threshold analysis was used to assess the effect of urbanization on carbon emissions. On the basis of the average annual income, two threshold points that divide the whole sample into three groups were identified, namely, 1) an average annual income of 7400 RMB and 2) an average annual income of 16,250 RMB. The result shows that effect of urbanization on CO2 emissions varies in terms of income stages and specific regions. Finally, the policy implication was discussed.
