Outcomes of Middle Cardiac Vein Arterialization via Internal Mammary/Thoracic Artery Anastomosis

Abstract: Objective Cardiac vein arterialization is seldom applied for treating right coronary artery disease. This study aimed to improve outcomes of cardiac vein arterialization in a porcine model using intramammary artery anastomosis. Methods A chronic, stenotic coronary artery model was established in 12 of 14 Chinese experimental miniature pigs of either sex, which were randomly divided into equal control (n = 6) and experimental (n = 6) groups. In experimental animals, blood flow was reconstructed in the right coronary artery using intramammary artery. Arterialization involved dissection of right internal mammary artery from bifurcation to apex of thorax followed by end-to-side anastomosis of internal mammary artery and middle cardiac vein plus posterior descending branch of right coronary artery. Intraoperative heart rate was maintained at 110 beats/min. Graft flow assessment and echocardiography were performed when blood pressure and heart rate normalized. Results The experimental group had significantly higher mean endocardial and epicardial blood flow postoperatively than control group (mean endocardial blood flow: 0.37 vs. 0.14 ml/(g*min), p<0.001; mean epicardial blood flow: 0.29 vs. 0.22, p = 0.014). Transmural blood flow was also higher in experimental group than in control group (0.33 vs. 0.19, p<0.001); ejection fraction increased from 0.46% at baseline to 0.51% (p = 0.0038) at 6 hours postoperatively, and mean blood flow of internal mammary artery was 44.50, perfusion index 0.73 at postoperative 6 months, 43.33 and 0.80 at 3 months. Conclusion Successful cardiac vein arterialization via intramammary artery in a porcine model suggests that this may be a viable method for reconstructing blood flow in chronic, severe coronary artery disease.

Abstract: Based on community succession and analysis of sand flow,the stability of com munity was studied.In Shapoptou area,the artificial communities in which Artemisia ordosica communi ty is dominant are adaptable to the habitat environment in long-term natural succession and they are stable.The results of observation and comparative study of vegetation succession in Shapotou and the vicinity showed that existing vegetation communities are evolving towards disclimax and in the future long periods of time Artemisia ordosica community will be stable.These succes-sions can facilitate the evolution of the local artificial vegetation towards more stable artificial natural compound ecosystem and even natural ecosystem.Furthermore,the research result of im-pact of wind flow on plant and earth-surface wind-tunnel experiment result showed that main vegetation and earth-surface of Shapotou at present can resist greater stress from wind flow and the ecosystem that can stand sand-dust storms has been formed.

Abstract: Nine strains of ammonia nitrogen degradation strains from C1 to C9 were isolated from industrial wastewater to study their degradation and conversion of ammonia nitrogen. The results showed that C2 strain with a high degradation activiity of ammonia nitrogen, and the ammonia nitrogen degradation rate of the activated C2 strain was 93% within 24 h when the initial concentration of ammonia nitrogen was 200 mg/L under the conditions of inoculation 10%, temperature 35?C, pH 7.0, rotation 200 r/min. And C2 was identified as Bacillus amyloliquefaciens.

Abstract: Objective: To investigate the inhibition effects of compound leech eye drops (Co-SZ) on apoptosis of lens epithelial cells (LECs) induced by hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and the expressions of apoptosis-related genes Bcl-2 and Bax in rats.Methods: All fresh transparent LECs in SD rats were bathed in culture medium with H2O2 in vitro, meanwhile Co-SZ were added in the culture medium. All LECs were incubated for 24 hours. The apoptosis rate of LECs was determined by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase mediated biotin-dUTP nick end labeling method (TUNEL). The changes of LEC ultrastructure and the formation of apoptotic body were observed by transmission electron microscopy. The expressions of apoptosis-related genes Bcl-2 and Bax were detected by streptavdin-peroxidase-biotin method.Results: The apoptosis rate of LECs in the Co-SZ-treated group was significantly lower than that in the H2O2-treated group. The changes of apoptotic LEC ultrastructure in the Co-SZ-treated group were less than those in the H2O2-treated group. The expression of Bcl-2 protein was up-regulated and the expression of Bax protein was down-regulated in the Co-SZ-treated group as compared with the H2O2-treated group.Conclusion: The LEC apoptosis induced by H2O2 can be inhibited by Co-SZ. The molecular mechanisms of Co-SZ in inhibiting LEC apoptosis may be related to regulating the expressions of apoptosis-related genes Bcl-2 and Bax.
Rough Sets based Temporal-spatial Color Descriptor Extraction Algorithm in Compressed Domain for Video Retrieval

Abstract: In this study, based on Rough Sets (RS), a compact and efficient temporal-spatial color descriptor extraction algorithm is developed in compressed domain. Firstly, Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) coefficients and Direct Current (DC) coefficients, the most important video visual features are extracted from raw video sequences to represent video information. Secondly, an information system table is constructed using DC coefficients. Thirdly, a novel and concise information system table is achieved by using the reduction theory of RS, i.e., core of information system. The core contains major visual color information and eliminates the redundant video information. Furthmore, DC coefficients also contain important spatial information of each frame, so the core of information system can regard as effective temporal-spatial color descriptor for video retrieval. Compared to existing technologies, the proposed algorithm enjoyed the following three advantages: the extracted descriptor consider not only visual color feature and temporal information, but also spatial information of each frame, the algorithm introduced attributes reduction theory of RS and the more redundant video information are eliminated and the whole process accomplished in compressed domain, so the volume of video data also decreased dramatically. Effectiveness is documented by experimental results.
A Novel Rough Sets Based Key Frame Extraction Algorithm in Compressed-Domain

Abstract: In this study, we propose a novel key frame extraction algorithm based on Rough Sets (RS) in Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) compressed-domain. Firstly, we extract DCT coefficients in compressed-domain, select and preprocess the DC coefficients that derived from DCT coefficients. Secondly, We construct Information System with DC coefficients. Finally, we reduce Information System using attributes reduced theory of RS and obtained the representation of the video frames by reduced DC coefficients. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is fast and effective. Compared to conventional algorithm, our algorithm enjoys the following advantages: (1) the numbers of the key frame extracted using our algorithm become more scientific; (2) the algorithm can avoid the expensive computations in decompression processes.

Abstract: Room-temperature ionic liquids, particularly whose unique excellent physical and chemical properties, are being extensively studied for a variety of applications. Herein we selected the ionic liquids in common like 1-ethyl-3-methyl-imidazole tetrafluoroborate ([EMIM]{BF4])as the research object. Using U4100 spectrophotometer, we measured the [EMIM]{BF4} ionic liquids in 180-2400 nm range of spectrum and analyzed especially infrared and near ultraviolet absorption spectrum of vibration. Then Gaussian 03W software of density functional(DFT) method is used for structure optimization and vibration frequency calculation. Further we compared and analyzed the experiment results and theoretical calculations in the infrared spectrum. The results showed that the near infrared spectrum of [EMIM]{BF4] may be caused by C-H bond, sum frequency , frequency multiplication or hydrogen bond, and 3G-7H, F-B bond plays an important role of the infrared absorption peaks.

Abstract: Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) plays an important role in tumor cell proliferation, differentiation and survival. Increasing evidences suggest that alterations within the EGFR gene may be as important as EGFR-overexpression to induce oncogenic effects [1-3]. The most common variation is an in-frame deletion of exons 2-7 in the mRNA, resulting in a truncated mutant (epidermal growth factor receptor variant III, EGFRvIII). Even though EGFRvIII is lack of a portion of extracellular ligand-binding domain and can not bind to its ligand, the tyrosine kinase in the intracellular portion can be constitutively activated, thereby leading to receptor dimerization, autophosphorylation and stimulation of signal transduction cascades[4]. Because EGFRvIII is present with a high frequency in several different types of tumor and has not been detected in normal tissues, it is an ideal target for tumor specific therapy[5,6]. Among approaches directed to EGFRvIII, vaccine is a promising strategy.Recombinant protein has been intensively studied as a vaccine on the basis of genetic engineering technology. Compared with peptide vaccine, recombinant protein has many advantages such as easy manipulation, mass production and low cost. The carrier of foreign epitope is important for construction of recombinant protein. Hepatitis B core protein (HBcAg) is one of the most promising delivery vehicles for its high-density, immunogenic presentation of foreign epitope and its production in various expression systems[7]. The e1 loop in the main determinant of the core antigen is considered as the most promising insertion site[8].Pep-3, a 13-amino-acid peptide corresponding to the amino acid sequence of the EGFRvIII fusion junction (LEEKKGNYVVTDH), is an immunogenic peptide that was firstly reported by Moscatello[9].
