Restoration of Images Corrupted by Impulse Noise and Mixed Gaussian Impulse Noise using Blind Inpainting
Ming Yan
Mathematics , 2013, DOI: 10.1137/12087178X
Abstract: This article studies the problem of image restoration of observed images corrupted by impulse noise and mixed Gaussian impulse noise. Since the pixels damaged by impulse noise contain no information about the true image, how to find this set correctly is a very important problem. We propose two methods based on blind inpainting and $\ell_0$ minimization that can simultaneously find the damaged pixels and restore the image. By iteratively restoring the image and updating the set of damaged pixels, these methods have better performance than other methods, as shown in the experiments. In addition, we provide convergence analysis for these methods, these algorithms will converge to coordinatewise minimum points. In addition, they will converge to local minimum points (or with probability one) with some modifications in the algorithms.

International Journal of Clinical Medicine (IJCM) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/ijcm.2015.610098
Abstract: Objective: The purpose of this study is to explore the clinical characteristics and therapeutic methods of aggressive fibromatosis (AF) in skull. Methods: The clinical data and operative therapy of one case of aggressive fibromatosis in skull in our department were examined and reviewed. The associated literatures were reviewed and discussed. Results: It was indicated that the main manifestation of AF in skull was headache and skull tumor. There was prominent osteolytic destruction found in X-ray plain film for skull AF. And CT scanning showed that skull sclerotin was disorganized and inhomogeneous, with widen diploe. The skull fibromatosis constituted by fibroblasts and myofibroblas, which were mainly spindle-shaped without heteromorphism. Immunohistochemistry showed positive expression of β-catenin and Vim in these cells. The enlarged incision was adopted for the strategy of operation in this patient of skull AF. After follow-up, there was no recurrence of AF discovered. Conclusions: Skull AF is very rare in neurosurgical clinic. The clinical manifestation and iconography of AF were lack of specificity. Therefore, skull AF is hard to diagnose preoperatively. The effective diagnose is mainly dependant on histopathologic examination. As for treatment, operation is the most optimal method so far, which has a good therapeutic effect.

Abstract:

As a vital part of an organization, human resources management has been drawing broad attention both industrially and academically. Motivation is a significant content of HRM, which can be divided into material incentive and non-material incentive. This paper investigated the Chinese agri-business companies’ motivation methods and gave suggestions. This paper uses questionnaire and statistical analysis to explore and confirm that agriculture companies should pay attention not only to material incentive, but also non-material incentive. A Chinese agri-business company has been chosen for study.

The Change of Novel Writing in East Asian Countries and Their Local Characteristics
东亚汉文小说的衍变及本土特色

Yan Ming,

浙江大学学报(人文社会科学版) , 2009,
Abstract: In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, many Chinese novels were introduced into Korea, Japan, and Vietnam, and this resulted in the prosperity of novel writing in Chinese in these East Asian countries. The introduction of Chinese novels was closely related to the great demand of people in these countries for learning the Chinese language. As these East Asian countries were trying to imitate the China's system and China was then the object of their cultural worship, it was possible for Chinese novels to be widely read in these countries, which in turn facilitated the development of novel writing in Chinese in East Asia. It is in this process that novel writing in Korea, Japan and Vietnam gradually formed their local and cultural characteristics.
Quality control and assessment of qualitative interview in health care research
Yan-ming XIE
Zhong Xi Yi Jie He Xue Bao , 2008,
Abstract: : It is not finally concluded how to standardize the use of qualitative research in the world. Qualitative researchers disagree with each other about this issue. As we know, there have been a large number of articles written in different ways about qualitative research due to the "flexibility", one of its features. Qualitative research is quite different from quantitative research which is easy to control its quality and quality assessment. A series of criteria has been set up for quantitative research. However qualitative research needs to be improved in these aspects, in which qualitative interviews are mostly used at home and abroad at present. Hence, it becomes an important and urgent issue for qualitative researchers to standardly control and assess the quality of qualitative interview. Introduce the idea of comparative effectiveness research to clinical research of Chinese medicine
Yan-ming Xie
Zhong Xi Yi Jie He Xue Bao , 2011,
Abstract: Comparative effectiveness research (CER) has gained more and more popularity, which brought great response in the USA and other developed Western countries. There is no doubt that CER is a new idea and a milestone in health care research. CER is also known as “patient-centered outcomes research”, which means patient is the core element in the whole system of CER. Chinese medicine could make new achievements and further development by introducing CER into clinical research. This article mainly introduced the background, features and contents of CER and summarized how to conduct CER in Chinese medicine by referring to some published literature in order to enlighten Chinese medicine researchers.

Self Equivalence of the Alternating Direction Method of Multipliers
Ming Yan,Wotao Yin
Mathematics , 2014,
Abstract: The alternating direction method of multipliers (ADM or ADMM) breaks a complex optimization problem into much simpler subproblems. The ADM algorithms are typically short and easy to implement yet exhibit (nearly) state-of-the-art performance for large-scale optimization problems. To apply ADM, we first formulate a given problem into the "ADM-ready" form, so the final algorithm depends on the formulation. A problem like $\mbox{minimize}_\mathbf{x} u(\mathbf{x}) + v(\mathbf{C}\mathbf{x})$ has six different "ADM-ready" formulations. They can be in the primal or dual forms, and they differ by how dummy variables are introduced. To each "ADM-ready" formulation, ADM can be applied in two different orders depending on how the primal variables are updated. Finally, we get twelve different ADM algorithms! How do they compare to each other? Which algorithm should one choose? In this paper, we show that many of the different ways of applying ADM are equivalent. Specifically, we show that ADM applied to a primal formulation is equivalent to ADM applied to its Lagrange dual; ADM is equivalent to a primal-dual algorithm applied to the saddle-point formulation of the same problem. These results are surprising since the primal and dual variables in ADM are seemingly treated very differently, and some previous work exhibit preferences in one over the other on specific problems. In addition, when one of the two objective functions is quadratic, possibly subject to an affine constraint, we show that swapping the update order of the two primal variables in ADM gives the same algorithm. These results identify the few truly different ADM algorithms for a problem, which generally have different forms of subproblems from which it is easy to pick one with the most computationally friendly subproblems.
