In this paper, we prove some theorems on equitable?total coloring and derive the equitable total chromatic numbers?of Pm V?Sn, Pm V?Fn and Pm V Wn.
Some Types of Generalized Fuzzy -Fold Filters in Residuated Lattices
Zhen Ming Ma
Abstract and Applied Analysis , 2013, DOI: 10.1155/2013/736872
Abstract: Fuzzy filters and their generalized types have been extensively studied in the literature. In this paper, a one-to-one correspondence between the set of all generalized fuzzy filters and the set of all generalized fuzzy congruences is established, a quotient residuated lattice with respect to generalized fuzzy filter is induced, and several types of generalized fuzzy -fold filters such as generalized fuzzy -fold positive implicative (fantastic and Boolean) filters are introduced; examples and results are provided to demonstrate the relations among these filters. 1. Introduction Residuated lattices, introduced by Ward and Dilworth in [1], are very basic algebraic structures among algebras associated with logical systems. In fact, many algebras have been proposed as the semantical systems of logical systems, for example, Boolean algebras, MV-algebras, BL-algebras, lattice implication algebras, MTL-algebras, NM-algebras, and -algebras, and so forth, and they are all particular cases of residuated lattices. Filters are tools of extreme importance in studying these logical algebras and the completeness of nonclassical logics. A filter is also called a deductive system [2]. From logical point of view, various filters correspond to various sets of provable formulae. Filters are also particularly interesting because they are closely related to congruence relations. Hájek [3] introduced the notions of filters and prime filters in BL-algebras and proved the completeness of Basic Logic, BL. Turunen [2] proposed the notions of implicative filters and Boolean filters of BL-algebras and proved that implicative filters are equivalent to Boolean filters in BL-algebras. In [4, 5], some types of filters such as implicative filters, fantastic filters, and Boolean filters in BL-algebras were proposed and some characterizations of them with identity forms were given, and in [6], these filters were generalized to residuated lattices. In [7] some new types of filters such as IMTL-filters, strong MTL-filters, and associative filters were introduced in MTL-algebras, and it was shown in [8] that in any MTL-algebra there exists only one proper associative filter. At present, there are two branches to generalize the existing types of filters. One is the folding theory and the other is fuzzy sets theory. In the folding approach, in [9–11], -fold (positive) implicative filters are proposed in BL-algebras. In [12], -fold EIMTL and -fold IMTL-filters of MTL-algebras were defined and some relations between these filters and -fold (positive) implicative filters, -fold fantastic filters,
A Newtonian and Weierstrassian Approach to Local Resolution of Singularities in Characteristic Zero
Sheng-Ming Ma
Mathematics , 2014,
Abstract: This paper formulates an elementary algorithm for resolution of singularities in a neighborhood of a singular point over a field of characteristic zero. The algorithm is composed of finite sequences of Newton polyhedra and monomial transformations and based on Weierstrass preparation theorem. This approach entails such new methods as canonical reduction and synthesis of monomial transformations as well as latency and revival of primary variables. The orders of primary variables serve as the decreasing singularity invariants for the algorithm albeit with some temporary increases. A finite partition of unity in a neighborhood of the singular point is constructed in an inductive way depending on the topological constraint imposed by Euler characteristic of the normal vector set of Newton polyhedron.
The sharp bound for the number of real solutions to polynomial equation systems
Sheng-Ming Ma
Mathematics , 2010,
Abstract: This paper solves the open problem on the sharp bound for the number of isolated solutions in $\mathbf{R}_*^n$ to the real system of $n$ polynomial equations in $n$ variables, i.e., the real $n$ by $n$ fewnomial system. For an unmixed system of $n$ polynomial equations in $n$ variables, this paper shows that the number of its positive solutions in $\mathbf{R}_*^n$ is sharply bounded by that of the simplex configurations in the triangulation of its support generically. The proof is based on a homotopic argument and an inductive triangulation of the support of the system via a hierarchy of pyramid configurations of different orders. For the mixed system of $n$ polynomial equations in $n$ variables, this paper shows that the maximal number of positive solutions in $\mathbf{R}_*^n$ to the systems with the same support is a symmetric multilinear function of the support generically and hence can be computed via the polarization identity.

Surgical Science (SS) , 2016, DOI: 10.4236/ss.2016.71005
Abstract: Introduction: This study is designed to explore the biomechanical principles of posterior bilateral pedicle screw on steps progressively and tight closure on every step for severe angular kyphosis and the indication conditions and clinical pathways of above new technique. Materials and Methods: A total of 90 patients have severe angular kyphosis, 37 males and 53 females, with an average age of 47 years. All patients were treated with posterior bilateral pedicle screw and step tight closure for gradual shortening and orthopedic technology. Results: Average intraoperative blood loss was 2089 ml. Average operation time was 326 minutes. Kyphotic angle changed from 90.1° averagely preoperatively to 41.6° averagely postoperatively with an improvement rate of 65%. The distance from C7 plumb line to posterior upper edge of the S1 vertebral body was averagely 5.2 mm postoperatively, with a correction rate of 73%. Neurological complications occurred in 2 cases, accounting for 6%. Non-neurological complications occurred in 2 cases, accounting for 6%. Anatomical parameters were significantly improved postoperatively (P < 0.05). All patients were averagely followed up for 28 months. Segments undergoing osteotomy achieved bone fusion, without loss of orthopedic angle. Conclusions: The orthopedic technology of bilateral pedicle screw and step tight closure designed by human physiology and biomechanical principles can protect spinal cord cells from injury to the utmost. To choose an appropriate osteotomy plane during pre-surgical planning can make the repair results closer to the normal function of the spine. Intraoperative nerve root protection, full release and bone graft fusion are effective safeguards to ensure kyphosis correction and to avoid spine lateral offset.

Abstract: Objective: To research the expression of hypoxia inducible factor-1 alpha (HIF-1 alpha) on the apoptosis and number of T lymphocyte in Peyer’s patches after severe burn on plateau in rats. Methods: Wistar rats (n = 130) were subjected to deep thickness burn injury (30% TBSA, III degree), at two different altitudes. 60 of them were given delayed fluid resuscitation (DFR, n = 30 at each altitude) 6 h after burn at different altitude; 60 of them were carried out immediate fluid resuscitation (IFR, n = 30 at each altitude); 10 rats were subjected to 37°C warm water as sham burn (SG, n = 10). The Peyer’s patches were harvested from the ileum of rats at different time point after burn respectively. The expression of HIF-1 alpha, CD3(+) and the apoptosis and number of T lymphocyte in Peyer’s patches were detected by tissue microarray technology and immunohistochemistry. Results: The apoptosis was higher in DFR group than that in IFR group. The increase in HIF-1 alpha expression was observed mainly on cell nucleus in T lymphocytes. The expression levels of HIF-1 alpha in Peyer’s patches were much higher in DFR group and IFR group than those in SG, and they were higher at high altitude (3848 metres) than those at lower altitude (1517 metres), and also higher in DFR group compared with IFR group (all P < 0.05). The expression levels of CD3+ in Peyer’s patches were much lower in DFR group and IFR group than those in sham group, and the lowest value appeared at 12 hours after burn (all P < 0.05). Conclusion: High expression of HIF-1 alpha may induce the apoptosis of T lymphocytes in Peyer’s patches after severe burn with delayed fluid resuscitation in rats at plateau.

PLOS ONE , 2013, DOI: 10.1371/journal.pone.0058567
Abstract: Background Hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α) and heme oxygenase-1(HO-1) are involved in the tissue hypoxic response. Hypothesis HIF-1α and HO-1 levels may predict cardiac ischemia and adverse cardiac events during non-cardiac surgery. Methods HIF-1α and HO-1 levels were determined in elderly patients undergoing non-cardiac surgery preoperatively and at 30 minutes, 48 and 72 hours postoperatively. Results were analyzed with respect to the occurrence of adverse cardiac events. Results A total of 380 patients with a mean age of 65.3 years were included, and 54 (14.2%) who had adverse cardiac events during or after the surgery. HIF-1α and HO-1 levels in the adverse cardiac event group were significantly higher than in the group without adverse cardiac events at each time point (all, P<0.05). In multivariates regression analysis, the odds of an adverse cardiac event was increased by every 1-year increase in age (odd ratio [OR] 1.39, P<0.001), abnormal ECG at baseline (OR 2.27, P = 0.048), myocardial infarction history (OR 3.18, P = 0.015), and positive baseline cTnI level were associated with an increased likelihood of an adverse cardiac event (OR 8.78, P = 0.019), and for every 1 unit increase of HO-1, the odds of an adverse cardiac event increased by 1.30 (P = 0.002). Conclusion Determination of preoperative HO-1 levels may aid in identifying patients at risk of developing ischemic cardiac events.

Chinese Medicine (CM) , 2011, DOI: 10.4236/cm.2011.24028
Abstract: This study aimed to investigate the effects of a compound polysaccharide-based health product (Infinitus Polysac Plus, IPP) on innate and adaptive immunity in mice. Both ex vivo/in vivo mouse models and an in vitro system using cultured mouse splenocytes were adopted for the assessment of innate and adaptive immunity. For the innate immune response, long-term IPP treatment (0.26 and 0.78 g/kg * 20 doses) enhanced the carbon clearance activity and phagocytic rate of macrophages, as well as natural killer cell activity in mice. The IPP-induced increase in natural killer cell activity was accompanied by the suppression of tumor growth in Sarcoma-180 cell-inoculated mice. For the adaptive immune response, while long-term IPP treatment increased the splenocyte index in mice, IPP incubation with mouse splenocytes in vitro potentiated their concanavalin A-stimulated proliferation. Long-term IPP treatment significantly restored the hemolytic activity of serum on sheep red blood cells and dinitrofluorobenezene-induced delayed-type hypersensitivity in sensitized and immunosuppressed mice. In conclusion, the results indicate that long-term IPP treatment produces stimulatory effects on both innate and adaptive immunity in mice.

Journal of Nanomaterials , 2012, DOI: 10.1155/2012/405361
Abstract: Titanium dioxide (TiO2) has been extensively studied with regard to its application as the physical sunblock in sunscreen or other cosmetic products, as well as in environmental remediation processes. In this study, the Taguchi method was applied to determine the optimum gaseous DCM (dichloromethane) by Pt-TiO2 with different Pt contents. An orthogonal array (L32) experimental design that allows for the simultaneous investigation of the variations of six parameters (light source, catalyst type, initial concentration, retention time, photointensity, and relative humidity) was employed to determine the optimum levels. The value of photointensity was not at a confidence interval. According to the response values and an analysis of variance (ANOVA), an experimental result of 34.7 as the optimum condition is forecast. Although the predetermination of 34.7 is not equal to the experimental value, it is contained within the 90% confidence interval (25.8, 43.6).
