A Rapid Technique for Prediction of Nutrient Release from Polymer Coated Controlled Release Fertilizers  [PDF]

Abstract: Controlled release fertilizers (CRF) are produced with different rates and durations of nutrient release to cater to different crops with wide ranges of nutrient requirements. A rapid technique is needed to verify the label specifications of nutrient release rate and duration. Polymer-coated urea (PCU) (43% nitrogen [N]) and polymer-coated N, phosphorus (P), potassium (K) (PC_NPK; 14-14-14) fertilizer products were used in this study. Soil incubation of the above CRF products at 25℃ showed that 63.6% to 70.8% of total N was released over 220 days (d). At 100℃ in water 100% of N release occurred in about 168 to 216 hours (h). Regression equations were developed for cumulative nutrient release as a function of release time separately at 25℃ and 100℃. Using the above regressions, the release duration for a given percent nutrient release at each temperature was calculated. These values were then used to establish a relationship between the release duration at 25℃ as a function of that at 100℃. This relationship is useful to predict the release duration at 25℃ of an unknown CRF product by conducting a rapid release test in water at 100℃. This study demonstrated that a rapid nutrient release test at 100℃ successfully predicted nutrient release rate and duration at 25℃, for polymer coated fertilizers. Therefore, this rapid test can be used to verify the label release rate and duration of most CRF products.
The Composition and Case Study of the Nurses’ Voluntary Turnover Cost in China  [PDF]

Abstract: Nurse is the largest number of four medical personnel, and the stability of the nurses is directly related to the quality of medical service, but countries around the world are faced with the high turnover rate of nurses [1]. At present, Chinese researches on the issue of nurses resignation mainly focus on the analysis of the variables and causes of nurses resignation, while there is few research related to the turnover costs of nurses which the managers focus most. All these problems lead to there is still no consensus and cognition on composition and measurement methods of turnover costs and the harm of the organizations. Based on the literature research, this paper summarizes the composition and measurement of the voluntary turnover cost of Chinese nurses, and draws the main constituent elements and feasible measurement methods of the nurses’ voluntary turnover cost. Furthermore, this paper takes a military hospital in Beijing as an example and shows the composition and measurement methods of turnover cost by the actual measurement of the nurses’ turnover costs in this hospital. Hope this paper can provide some reference for the future theoretical research and medical practice.

Abstract: With the advancement of times and development of technology, the traditional teaching mode has gradually revealed some drawbacks. Therefore, a new teaching mode is needed. Flipped class, as one of the new teaching modes which can improve the students’ initiative and self-discipline, has attracted colleges and universities’ attention and exploration. Based on the teaching reform practice of the flipped classroom teaching mode of the basic management course in universities, this paper elaborates the significance and current situation of the flipped classroom practice in universities, and explores the specific schemes, procedures as well as the future development direction of the flipped classroom teaching mode of the basic management course. Through the analysis of these problems, we hope to contribute to the reform of flipped class teaching mode in universities, and provide some references for later research.

Abstract: The problem of information overload in management field has been receiving increasing attention, while there are less empirical researches now. This paper proposes a conceptual model and some operational variables, in which information overload is as an intervening variable between the factors of causes and impacts. An investigation and analysis has been conducted from a selected sample of managers. This research suggests that work efficiency and work quality are both not strongly connected with information overload. We also find that the main causes of information overload are the work interruption and work time pressure but the amount of information.
Buckling of Single-Crystal Silicon Nanolines under Indentation

Abstract: Atomic force microscope-(AFM-) based indentation tests were performed to examine mechanical properties of parallel single-crystal silicon nanolines (SiNLs) of sub-100-nm line width, fabricated by a process combining electron-beam lithography and anisotropic wet etching. The SiNLs have straight and nearly atomically flat sidewalls, and the cross section is almost perfectly rectangular with uniform width and height along the longitudinal direction. The measured load-displacement curves from the indentation tests show an instability with large displacement bursts at a critical load ranging from 480 N to 700 N. This phenomenon is attributed to a transition of the buckling mode of the SiNLs under indentation. Using a set of finite element models with postbuckling analyses, we analyze the indentation-induced buckling modes and investigate the effects of tip location, contact friction, and substrate deformation on the critical load of mode transition. The results demonstrate a unique approach for the study of nanomaterials and patterned nanostructures via a combination of experiments and modeling.
The Study on First-Aid Education of Disaster for Primary School Student in China  [PDF]

Objective:To investigate current status of school disaster education of primary school students and analyze potential causes and discuss how to establish a corresponding education mode. Methods:The questionnaires of disaster knowledge for Primary and middle school students were used in this study and a random sampling method was adopted for the research. Results:The primary school students maintained the high rate of disaster attention. 73% primary school students had pay attention to the occurrence of disasters; more than 75% primary school students were lack of knowledge on disaster prevention and mitigation and 58.5% students were not satisfied with school disaster education work. Conclusions:There was dislocation between the way and mode of school disaster education.It might improve the quality of the disaster education and expand the disaster education to promote the development of disaster education.

Blunt Traumatic Pericardial Rupture
—Case Report and Literature Review

Pericardial rupture following blunt chest trauma is rare and associated with high mortality rate ranging from 30% to 64%. We review 42 cases which have been reported in the literature in last 17 years and report a case of our own. We have found that 83% of the cases were men with a mean age of 49 years. The most frequent cause was traffic accidents (79%). Preoperative diagnosis of traumatic rupture of the pericardium has been improved in recent 17 years, and the result is satisfactory. Early detection, timely treatment is the key. Pneumopericardium may be a valuable radiographic clue for diagnosis. The management of pericardial rupture is mainly to avoid the risk of cardiac strangulation or acute tamponade. If the injury is recognized timely, treatment is simple and effective.

Small-scale household production of edible mushrooms by farmers is the major source of edible mushrooms in China. However, large-scale enterprises who engage in commercial cultivation of edible mushrooms has been growing at a relatively fast pace, bringing about challenges for small-scale farmers. With the purpose of help maintain small-scale farmers’ ability to survive in this fiercely competitive landscape, this paper first analyzes their competitive advantages, disadvantages and survival strategies, employing the methods of field survey and comparative observation. Based on these analyses, suggestions concerning how to strengthen the survivability of small-scale farmers are proposed, focusing on further lowering production cost and optimizing cooperative modes.
