Abstract: introduction: experimental models are used for simulation of situations related to physical training. objective: this study had the objective of verifying the fitness of rats in training; this was achieved through the measurement of the concentration of lactic acid in the blood serum. methodology: an experimental study using 40 wistar male adult rats, divided into five groups of eight individuals and a control group was carried out. the first test of maximum effort (te) was applied after one week of familiarization with the treadmill running and right before the first day of training. the following effort tests were applied at every ten days. in order to measure the concentration of lactic acid in the blood after the test; it 1ml of blood was collected from each rat. the student t test was used to compare the means. results: lactic acid serum significantly decreased in groups ge10, 20, 30 between the first and the last effort test. in the g30 there was a significant difference between the initial and final tests regarding speed (p = 0.003) and time (p = 0.018), as well as in the g40 group, where the initial velocity was (p = 0.0006) and time (p = 0.0001). conclusion: the results measured through the lactic acid in the blood showed that rats submitted to physical training present better metabolic capacity and that with suitable training, the physical fitness increased after the physical effort. this effort is well tolerated by the rats up to 40 days of treadmill running.

Abstract: purpose: to compare the effects of the antidepressant drugs duloxetine and amitriptyline on depressive behaviors in rats. methods: fifteen male wistar rats were given systemic injections of duloxetine, amitriptyline or saline prior to a forced swimming test (fst). immobility and number of stops were measured. data were analyzed by one-way anova and kruskall-wallis. results: rats given injections of duloxetine displayed fewer stops than the amitriptyline and control group (p< 0.05). the control group and amitriptyline showed no difference (p=0.8). conclusion: duloxetine reduced depressive behaviors in the forced swimming test been more effective than amitriptyline.

Abstract: the purpose of the present study is to show how racial issues permeate boys and girls lives in the slum areas, taking their context into consideration and trying to understand how they transform and resist to different situations related to racial relationships. the individuals who took part in group discussions and interviews study in a local municipal school. the data analysis was based on meaning production theoretic and methodological approach within cultural studies. the discourses about race are associated with aspects of their everyday life, media themes, discrimination and social classes differences, through a discourse that refers to inequalities. the produced meanings show contestation and resistance, signaling social mobilizations related to racial discrimination. however, they produce meanings that come to reinforce a hegemonic discourse and their adaptation to it.

Abstract: this article aims to discuss the production of meanings about poverty, violence and work. according to the social, economic and cultural conditions, this work analyzes the intersections of gender, racial, social class and sexual girl's and boy's identities construction in the community spaces such as the street, the school and the home. sixteen interviews and six discussion groups were carried out with girls and boys, between fifteen and eighteen years old, from fifth and eight grade in school. the understanding of the meanings of these girls and boys was based on theoretical and methodological social constructionism approach. the meaning of poverty is perceived by these girls and boys as burden. the violence is taken as concerning, but also as something natural. work is used as a criterion to classify people, differentiating honest persons from delinquents, who do not work.

Abstract: traumatic brain injury (tbi) is one of the main causes of urgent consultations in every hospital in the world, with variability of the severity and consequences, depending on its origins, patients' characteristics (underlying diseases, age, etc.) and treatment received. the national situation deserves special attention due to the armed conflict which has afflicted us for more than 50 years and which has left physical, psychological and psychiatric sequelae in thousands of patients, their families and their surroundings. in this revision we intend to update the sequelae observed at the neuropsychiatric level and the procedures that demonstrate beneficial to the recovery from tce. we also note some procedures and pharmaceuticals, which may have theoretical benefit as yet unproven.

Journal of Software Engineering and Applications (JSEA) , 2011, DOI: 10.4236/jsea.2011.48055
Abstract: The genetic algorithms represent a family of algorithms using some of genetic principles being present in nature, in order to solve particular computational problems. These natural principles are: inheritance, crossover, mutation, survival of the fittest, migrations and so on. The paper describes the most important aspects of a genetic algorithm as a stochastic method for solving various classes of optimization problems. It also describes the basic genetic operator selection, crossover and mutation, serving for a new generation of individuals to achieve an optimal or a good enough solution of an optimization problem being in question.
The Importance of Health Records  [PDF]

Health (Health) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/health.2015.75073
Abstract: Health records have played an increasingly important role throughout history as an important legal document for the exercise of individuals’ rights. However, domestic legislation fails to define health records as a legally important collection of health data and documents. Recording facts and storing legally important documents are therefore the tasks of the operator. Using the prescriptive method we will determine which laws are governing the management of medical records, their safety and accessibility. Based on the descriptive method, we will describe the process of handling health records by the provider of health treatment, focusing on exposed regulatory gaps in the area of the protection of the rights of an individual. Through the analysis of the laws governing the management of health records, even after death and operator terminating the service, we will carry out inductive reasoning and provide conclusions regarding the attitude towards health records. Considering different results we can conclude that health information, especially documents relevant to the protection of individual’s rights, is not transparent. Above all, the documents in the collection are not recorded properly, thus allowing for their removal. Even the transfer of health records by the provider of health treatment is not defined, which could result in the disposal of the entire health documentation.
