Abstract: the objective of this study was to describe and analyze the experience of time by managers in light of the five categories presented by jaussi and bluedorn (2007), namely: polychronicity, speed, punctuality, temporal depth and entrainment. the central topics were presented and discussed in theoretical framework and in a survey which was descriptive and essentially qualitative was performed, using mostly interviews to collect data from 20 managers of similar stores in the retail trade, in malls and on the streets of belo horizonte (mg). the data were analyzed using the technique of discourse analysis. it was observed that most managers adopt polychronic and accelerated behaviors. they are particular concerned with goals, demonstrating a high sense of punctuality. a distinctive preference of respondents in terms of temporal depth was not observed. from the analysis of the three processes of recording outlined by the authors - synchronous, leading, lagging - a clear relationship between time and power was observed, denoting the ambiguous, contradictory and fragmented face of management. given the limitations of this study, suggestions for future research were to widen knowledge of the issues in brazil.

---- Social Movements and Organizational Analysis: exploring possibilities from the theory of frames and political opportunities ---- Abstract ---- The objective of this study was to describe and analyze the experience of time by managers in light of the five categories presented by Jaussi and Bluedorn (2007), namely: polychronicity, speed, punctuality, temporal depth and entrainment.
Yano, Sylvia Regina Trindade;Santana, Vilma Sousa;
Cadernos de Saúde Pública , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-311X2012000500013
Abstract: this cross-sectional study estimated the prevalence of work days lost due to health problems and associated factors among industrial workers. the study population was a simple random cluster sample of 3,403 workers from 16 to 65 years of age in the city of salvador, bahia state, brazil. data were collected with individual home interviews. among industrial workers, one-year prevalence of work days lost to health problems was 12.5%, of which 5.5% were directly work-related and 4.1% aggravated by work. there were no statistically significant differences when compared to other worker categories. self-perceived workplace hazards, history of work-related injury, and poor self-rated health were associated with work days lost due to work-related injuries/diseases. the findings showed that work days lost are common among both industrial and non-industrial workers, thereby affecting productivity and requiring prevention programs.
Reflex es sobre as abordagens linguísticas para o estudo da narrativa oral =Reflections on linguistic approaches to the study of oral narrative

Abstract: This article analyses two episodes from the novel Grande sert o: Veredas, written by Jo o Guimar es Rosa: Zé Bebelo’s judgment and the pact made by Riobaldo. In the first episode, one examines the peculiar society constituted in the “sert o” by “coronéis” and “jagun os”; in the second one, the notion of pact is broadened beyond the symbolic deal made with the devil, showing its development as strategies of survival in an environment in which the apparent disorder reveals itself as the essence of the order devised and kept by violence.

Abstract: This paper deals a study concerning the synthesis and catalytic application of a series of SO42-/MCM-41 catalysts with different SO42-/Si ratios, in the catalytic esterification of oleic acid, aiming biofuels production. The catalysts were characterized by XRD and FT-IR. The catalytic tests were carried out in a batch reactor and the obtained results showed good catalytic activity with high degrees of conversions of oleic acid.

American Journal of Analytical Chemistry (AJAC) , 2012, DOI: 10.4236/ajac.2012.32016
Abstract: An ion-exchange chromatography (IEC) followed by post-column derivatization method was validated for the determination of glutamine in food additive products. The chromatographic method was carried out on a sodium cation-exchange column and using detection at 570 nm. The mobile phase consisted of sodium eluant, pH 3.15, with 5% sulfolane, sodium eluant, pH 7.40 and sodium column regenerant. The method was linear in the range of 4 - 50 μg/mL (r2 = 0.9999). The accuracy was 99.78%. Moreover, method validation demonstrated acceptable results for precision and robustness. The method was found to be able to use for routine analysis of the glutamine.
