Evaluating Online Shopping Service Quality—SERVEGAL in Taiwan Tourism Industry  [PDF]
Meiling Wong
Open Journal of Social Sciences (JSS) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/jss.2014.29036

While SERVQUAL is the most extensively used measurements of service quality among industries nowadays and its five-dimension measured factors are investigated with respect to the customers’ reaction, E-SERVQUAL thus is developed amid traditional service industries to cope with the internet markets. Both two models use measured data based upon after purchased instead of pre- purchased which is considered as the main concern for service quality. Taking Magal’s instrument into account, which indicates three dimensions that possess the function of customers’ comments, customers’ demand and service planning to measure the service quality, we propose the SERVEGAL model to include customers’ recognition on service quality pre-purchasing. And a case study in tourism industry is applied to verify our proposal. The result of this study shows that SERVEGAL is not merely a service planning provider, but also a tool to accommodate with the customers’ expectation for service quality.

Ezrin overexpression predicts the poor prognosis of gastric adenocarcinoma
Jingchun Jin, Tiefeng Jin, Meiling Quan, Yingshi Piao, Zhenhua Lin
Diagnostic Pathology , 2012, DOI: 10.1186/1746-1596-7-135
Abstract: Ezrin protein expression was examined by immunohistochemistry in 26 normal gastric mucosa, 32 dysplasia, and 277 gastric adenocarcinomas. The relationship between Ezrin expression and the clinicopathological features of gastric cancers was analyzed. In addition, a gastric cancer cell line, MKN-1, was also used for immunofluorescence staining to evaluate the distribution of Ezrin protein.Ezrin protein located in the cytoplasm and/or membrane in the migrating gastric cancer cells, and it mainly concentrated at the protrusion site; however, only cytoplasmic distribution was observed in the non-migrating cancer cells by immunofluorescence staining. The positive rate of Ezrin protein expression was significantly higher in gastric adenocarcinoma and dysplasia compared with that in the normal gastric mucosa. Moreover, expression frequency of Ezrin protein increased significantly in lymph node metastasis and late clinical stages. Consistently, strong expression of Ezrin was significantly correlated with poor prognosis of gastric cancer. The detection of Ezrin expression can be used as the marker for early diagnosis and prognosis of gastric adenocarcinoma. The virtual slide(s) for this article can be found here: http://www.diagnosticpathology.diagnomx.eu/vs/2303598677653946Gastric cancer is one of the most fatal malignant tumors worldwide. The poor prognosis is associated with extensive local invasion and/or regional lymph node metastasis [1]. Local recurrence remains the cause of cancer-related deaths after resection in a substantial proportion of patients with gastric cancer. Therefore, establishing reliable criteria to predict recurrence and to identify the tumors is of great interest not only for understanding the molecular and cellular processes involved in tomorigenesis, but also for searching the possible new therapeutic molecular targets [2].Tumor metastasis starts with breakdown of epithelial integrity, followed by malignant cells invading into the surrounding stroma

Open Journal of Social Sciences (JSS) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/jss.2014.29011

Profitability of China’s commercial banks has increased significantly since it joined the World Trade Organization (WTO). Constantly advancing of deepening the reform and increasingly fierce of international competition make us to be concerned more about macroeconomic factors. This paper makes an empirical analysis with a panel of 10 Chinese listed banks during the period 1998- 2012 to make a study of the potential impact of external factors may bring to China’s capital market. The results confirm that macroeconomic do have a substantial influence to the earning power of commercial banks, according to which some suggestions are made at the end of the paper.

A Fast Fourth-Order Method for 3D Helmholtz Equation with Neumann Boundary  [PDF]
Na Zhu, Meiling Zhao
American Journal of Computational Mathematics (AJCM) , 2018, DOI: 10.4236/ajcm.2018.83018
Abstract: We present fast fourth-order finite difference scheme for 3D Helmholtz equation with Neumann boundary condition. We employ the discrete Fourier transform operator and divide the problem into some independent subproblems. By means of the Gaussian elimination in the vertical direction, the problem is reduced into a small system on the top layer of the domain. The procedure for solving the numerical solutions is accelerated by the sparsity of Fourier operator under the space complexity of O(M3). Furthermore, the method makes it possible to solve the 3D Helmholtz equation with large grid number. The accuracy and efficiency of the method are validated by two test examples which have exact solutions.

This work analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of developing low-carbon economy of Jiangxi province using the theory of trade and environment, and puts forward macro ideas and strategies to develop low-carbon economy and promote transformation of foreign trade growth mode of Jiangxi province from the system construction, element reserves, industrial layout, implementation approaches, and ways of developing low-carbon economy. Relying on the unique ecological advantages, the growth of foreign trade can be prompted to transfer from extensive mode to low-carbon green development and realize the strategy goal of Ecological province and Green development through developing low-carbon economy.

Culturally Embedded Mechanism, Guanxi in Marketing  [PDF]
Meiling Wong, Ping-Chieh Huang
Open Journal of Social Sciences (JSS) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/jss.2015.37025

While it is emphasized in Western on “what you know”, which refers to technological expertise, including the price and quality of tendered product or service, it is emphasized in Confucian societies on “who you know”, which refers to personal connections with the appropriate authorities or individuals. These connections are known in Chinese as guanxi. The present paper attempts to explore the underlying mechanism of guanxi which is culturally embedded onto added value of service quality by examining the construct equivalence of the two concepts between Western relationship marketing and Chinese guanxi. This paper provides an inner view of cultural value which offers insights that should prove helpful to academics in management and related disciplines as well as to practitioners engaged in Chinese business.

Meiling Fang, Yuantai Wan, Jinjun Li
Journal of Cancer Therapy (JCT) , 2017, DOI: 10.4236/jct.2017.813104
Abstract: The occurrence and development of digestive tract tumors are mainly caused by the interaction of genetic and environmental factors, multiple incentives, multiple genes involved, and multi-step regulation. With the development of gene sequencing technology, precise treatment of tumor era has arrived. Studies have shown that the HOXA13 gene in the homeobox gene is abnormally expressed in digestive system tumors. Studies have shown that HOXA13 may have a certain relationship with the occurrence, development and prognosis of the tumor, pending the diagnosis and treatment of digestive tract tumors with a new gene target.
Phylogenetic relationships and estimation of divergence times among Sisoridae catfishes
MeiLing Yu,ShunPing He
Science China Life Sciences , 2012, DOI: 10.1007/s11427-012-4305-z
Abstract: Nineteen taxa representing 10 genera of Sisoridae were subjected to phylogenetic analyses of sequence data for the nuclear genes Plagl2 and ADNP and the mitochondrial gene cytochrome b. The three data sets were analyzed separately and combined into a single data set to reconstruct phylogenetic relationships among Chinese sisorids. Both Chinese Sisoridae as a whole and the glyptosternoid taxa formed monophyletic groups. The genus Pseudecheneis is likely to be the earliest diverging extant genus among the Chinese Sisoridae. The four Pareuchiloglanis species included in the study formed a monophyletic group. Glaridoglanis was indicated to be earliest diverging glyptosternoid, followed by Glyptosternon maculatum and Exostoma labiatum. Our data supported the conclusion that Oreoglanis and Pseudexostoma both formed a monophyletic group. On the basis of the fossil record and the results of a molecular dating analysis, we estimated that the Sisoridae diverged in the late Miocene about 12.2 Mya. The glyptosternoid clade was indicated to have diverged, also in the late Miocene, about 10.7 Mya, and the more specialized glyptosternoid genera, such as Pareuchiloglanis, originated in the Pleistocene (within 1.9 Mya). The speciation of glyptosternoid fishes is hypothesized to be closely related with the uplift of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
A Monte Carlo Study on the Identification of Quark and Gluon Jets
Yu Meiling,Liu Lianshou
Physics , 2001,
Abstract: Three jets events in the e$^+$e$^-$ collisions at 91.2 GeV are investigated using both HERWIG and JETSET Monte Carlo generators. The angles between the three jets are used to identify the quark and gluon jets. The analysis at parton level is done to ensure the reasonableness of this method and an angular cut is ultilized to improve the purity of this identification. The multiplicity inside the identified quark or gluon jets agree with the QCD predictions.
High-Order Finite Difference Method for Helmholtz Equation in Polar Coordinates  [PDF]
Na Zhu, Meiling Zhao
American Journal of Computational Mathematics (AJCM) , 2019, DOI: 10.4236/ajcm.2019.93013
We present a fourth-order finite difference scheme for the Helmholtz equation in polar coordinates. We employ the finite difference format in the interior of the region and derive a nine-point fourth-order scheme. Specially, ghost points outside the region are applied to obtain the approximation for the Neumann boundary condition. We obtain the matrix form of the linear system and the sparsity of the coefficient matrix is favorable for the computation of the Helmholtz equation. The feasibility and accuracy of the method are validated by two test examples which have exact solutions.
