Araújo, Afranio C. de;Beltr?o, Napole?o E. de M.;Bruno, Genildo B.;Moraes, Martival dos S.;
Revista Brasileira de Engenharia Agrícola e Ambiental , 2006, DOI: 10.1590/S1415-43662006000200016
Abstract: the intercrops are practiced by small farmers aiming to favor not only the diet and the income of their families, but also to decrease the risks of production losses. it was aimed with this work to study the influence of cotton and peanut cultivars and relative planting times as intercroping, being verified the components of the production, vegetable productivity, as well as the quality of the products. the experiment was conducted in miss?o velha, ceará state, brazil, at cotton experimental field of embrapa in the agricultural year of 2002. inall 20 treatments were tested with 4 repetitions, in a randomized block with 2 x 2 x 4 + 2 + 2 factorial, the factors being two cultivars of cotton (brs 186 - precocious 3 and brs 201), two cultivars of peanut (l7 and br-1), four planting times (0; 7; 14 and 21 days) plus the isolated controls of the two cultivrs of cotton and peanut crops. the technological characteristics of the cotton fiber practically did not suffer influence of the intercroping, however, the yield of both cotton and peanut crops decrease as a function of cultivation system due to established competition between the two crops.

Abstract: this research was carried out to evaluate the responses of snap bean 'macarr?o trepador' cultivated under different p2o5 levels. an experiment was carried out using a randomized blocks design with four replications in a soil classified as neossolo regolítico typical psamítico, in areia, paraiba state, brazil, from may to september/2002. the p2o5 levels applied were 0; 100; 200; 300 and 400 kg ha-1. the plot consisted of 60 plants, with spacings of 1.00 m x 0.20 m. the maximum number of pods in a plant (22 pods) was obtained using 267 kg ha-1 of p2o5 level. the maximum estimated value of the production of pods (30.13 t ha-1) was obtained at the level of 252 kg ha-1 of p2o5. however, the most economic level was reached with 231 kg ha-1 of p2o5, which produced 30 t ha-1 of pods. the p2o5 levels resulting in the maximum production and economic return of pods were correlated respectively, with 54 and 51 mg dm-3 of available p obtained with melich 1, extractor. the probability of response of the snap bean to the phosphate fertilization in similar soils will be minimized if the level of available p in the soil was superior to 51 mg dm-3. a decreasing linear function was verified for the fiber content, with reduction of 0.0004% of fiber for each kg of p2o5, applied to the soil, with maximum value (1.1%) and minimum (0.94%) under the levels zero and 400 kg ha-1 of p2o5, respectively. for the type of soil utilized in the present study, the application of 231 kg ha-1 of p2o5 is recommended for the fertilization of snap beans.

Abstract: one aimed with this work to study the influence of cotton and peanut cultivars and relative planting times as intercropping, being verified the relationships of competitiveness among the two cultures. the experiment was carried out in miss?o velha, ceará state, brazil, at cotton experimental field of embrapa in the agricultural year of 2002. twenty treatments were tested with 4 repetitions, in a randomized block with 2 x 2 x 4 + 2 + 2 factorial, the factors being two cultivars of cotton (brs 186 - precocious 3 and brs 201), two cultivars of peanut (l7 and br-1), four planting times (0; 7; 14 and 21 days) plus the isolated controls of the two cultivars of cotton and peanut crops. considering the results obtained for rude income, surrender liquid and rates of return, one considered that there was not economical advantage for the producer when the cotton was planted in intercrop with the peanut, since the referring values to the intercrop were smaller than the isolated cultivations.
Steady-state conduction-driven temperature profile in clusters of galaxies
S. Dos Santos
Physics , 2000, DOI: 10.1046/j.1365-8711.2001.04286.x
Abstract: The temperature profile (TP) of the intracluster medium (ICM) is of primeval importance for deriving the dynamical parameters of the largest equilibrium systems known in the universe, in particular their total mass profile. Analytical models of the ICM often assume that the ICM is isothermal or parametrize the TP with a polytropic index. This parameter is ajusted to observations, but has in fact poor physical meaning for values other than 1 or 5/3, when considering monoatomic gases. In this article, I present a theoretical model of a relaxed cluster where the TP is instead structured by electronic thermal conduction. Neglecting cooling and heating terms, the stationnary energy conservation equation reduces to a 2nd order differential equation, whose resolution requires two boundary conditions, taken here as the inner radius and the ratio between inner and outer temperature. Once these two constants are chosen, the TP has a fixed analytical expression, which reproduces nicely the observed ``universal'' TP obtained by Markevitch et al. (1998) from ASCA data. Using observed X-ray surface brightnesses for two hot clusters with spatially resolved TP, the local polytropic index and the hot gas fraction profile are predicted and compare very well with ASCA observations (Markevitch et al 1999). Moreover, the total density profile derived from observed X-ray surface brightness, hydrostatic equilibrium and the conduction-driven TP is very well fit by three analytical profiles found to describe the structure of galactic or cluster halos in numerical simulations of collisionless matter (Hernquist, 1991; Navarro et al. 1995, 1997; Burkert 1995). Tuning Entanglement Patterns in Qubits Clusters  [PDF]

Journal of Quantum Information Science (JQIS) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/jqis.2013.32013

We identify patterns of ground state entanglement, or quantum discord, in qubit clusters with three and four qubits, that are induced by varying the couplings between next-nearest neighbors in the clusters. We show that these entanglement patterns can be associated with continuous multiply connected regions in parameter space, on which entanglement quantifiers, such as the pairwise concurrence, exhibit a particular type of behavior as a function of the couplings between next-nearest neighbors in the cluster. We present the distinct patterns in diagrams in parameter space with continuous boundary lines and we associate each pattern to a specific type of pure quantum correlation. We propose this procedure as a simple method to identify useful classes of pure quantum correlations in qubit networks.

Domesticidade e identidades de gênero na revista Casa & Jardim (anos 1950 e 60)
Santos, Marinês Ribeiro dos;
Cadernos Pagu , 2011, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-83332011000100010
Abstract: in this paper, starting from the entwinement between gender identity models and the domesticity discourse present in the brazilian popular magazine casa & jardim, i discuss the role of representations in the constitution of human subjectivities. representations influence us as discursive practices by the establishment of norms, standards, and values, which mediate our understanding of the world and guide our conduct within the social milieu. the representations of femininity in casa & jardim, disguised as reflections of a supposed feminine "nature", are indeed patterns of subjectivities prescribed by its authors and editors to their women readers.

The uses of luxury: some examples from the Portuguese courts from 1480 to 1580
Sá,Isabel dos Guimar?es;
Análise Social , 2009,
Abstract: the article explores the relationship between precious possessions and power strategies of their owners in the context of the reinforcement of the crown's power between c. 1480 and the end of the avis-beja dynasty in 1580. six figures are analysed from a gender perspective: kings jo?o ii, manuel i, and jo?o iii; beatriz, duchess of avis, and queens leonor and catarina de áustria. their choice of precious possessions depended not only on personal circumstances but also varied according to their access to political authority. whereas women accumulated objects in direct relation with their spirituality (with the exception of queen catarina), men favoured the possession of religious objects as a strategy in order to reinforce political power and authority.
